Convenient location in Palolo with parking right in front. Ordered 4 bao bing: pork floss, lup chong, chicken, and their special okinawan pork. Chicken was the tastiest. I love pork floss on anything but couldnt taste it in this. Would've loved more eggs and pickled veges to balance out the sauce with all, as they were slightly too salty. But the super yummy strawberry guava lemonade was a great help.Toaster-ovened up the leftovers and they came out not too shabby (each person could only finish an equivalent of half).Great service. Takes a little while to cook; fun to shop around the Hapa Market while waiting.

Lunch in Kaka'ako, Honolulu, Hawaii...When I saw a pop-up for Jian Bing, I looked up Bing Mi 808on Instagram to pinpoint their location and hours. I figured out that they would be at Fishcake on a Tuesday, so I asked my friend, CeCe, if she wanted to go with me... ok!Parking was challenging. We circled the block and surrounding area until we got lucky...Jian Bing is like a Chinese Burrito that's made with a French crepe. It's a popular Chinese street food because you don't need utensils. Just hold it like a sandwich and enjoy! The pleasant couple working there are so sweet and patient with all customers and questions. Thanks for your kindness!I finally decided on the Bacon-loaded JianBing... wow... it was gigantic! An entire egg is cracked open and scrambled right onto the crepe! The filling (lettuce, pickled vegetables, bean paste, etc) is piled on and rolled into the fresh crepe. I was stuffed! I couldn't finish! I ate the remainder a couple of hours later! Yum!We'll be back! The small dining area inside Fishcake was just right! We enjoyed browsing around the furniture, plants, jewelry, etc. while we waited for our orders!

I stopped by Bing Mi at the Village Night Market at Pearlridge Shopping Center. The Village Night Market is hosted every Saturday from 5 pm - 9 pm. There's a bunch of food trucks, live music and outdoor seating. It's a casual and fun atmosphere that's family friendly. While there were a bunch of food options, Bing Mi caught my eye. Bing Mi is owned by Jesse and Mark, who brought their food business over from Portland. Bing Mi specializes in jian bing, which is a savory Chinese crepe filled with toppings such as meats, scallion and sauces. With their easy-to-read menu and friendly staff, Bing Mi was the choice for the night. I asked the staff member, and he gave awesome descriptions of each one. They all sounded yummy! I ordered a bacon jian bing. The order took about 10 minutes, so I walked around and came back. When I got the jian bing, it was loaded and heavy. When I ate the crepe, it was so delicious and flavorful. The jian bing was piping hot so I was careful eating it. I could taste the crunchy bacon and the veggies packed inside. It was like a beautiful medley of flavors and texture. I liked the crepe even more as I kept eating. I got full from eating one jian bing, so keep the portions in mind so if you are sampling a bunch of food. I'm so glad I got to try this because I love Asian street food. The fusion flavors make it all the more fun and unique. Plus, watching Jesse and Mark make the jian bings is a show in itself. If you've ever made crepes at home, you know how hard it is to make!

Was able to catch their stall today at the Pearlridge night market. First time trying this type of thing so I can't really compare it to anything else I've had so far which makes it unique lol. The original one is the one that I got and it reminded me if you put a taco and pho together with the sriracha sauce and made it into a crepe sort of business. I enjoyed the texture of the Bing Mi with the crunchiness of the inner in conjunction to the softer outer layer. Would go back and eat it again! Also note that this thing is massive. I only ate half and saved the other half for my dad :')

I used to frequent the original Bing Mi in Portland while I lived up there, and it is one of the foods I've been missing since I moved back to Hawaii. I'm glad they retained the same quality and taste I remember bringing it to Hawaii, but I must say nothing can beat the original in Portland.I came in the middle of the afternoon and was the only customer, so it was pretty quick getting my food. Fishcake can be really hit or miss on seating. I've been there when it's really busy and can't get seating inside, but going at an off time had no issues.

Was excited to try this spot because I love jianbings. The last time I had one was in Milan's Chinatown and it was so good that I went back and got two. This was not so good and I wouldn't recommend. Initially I was excited about the ingredients. This has the unique element of a crispy wonton chip in the middle. Unfortunately the chips are made a few days earlier it seems based on the date on the containers they're coming from, and the one I had was a bit stale. The classic could benefit from a bit more filling and sauce. It was fairly dry with the large stale wonton chip, egg, and only had the pickled vegetables in a few bites. The outer crepe tastes more like an American crepe batter, while the other jianbings I've had more variable textures - more flaky/chewy/crispy - this was a bit steamed. Overall it's on okay option if you're looking for an Asian influenced crepe wrap, but I wouldn't personally recommend.

Have Bing a treat...Finding out they're about to have a pop up in Waterfront Plaza I decided to pop in since I was in the area and always have wanted to give them a try.Bing Mi is a popular street food in China and it does remind me a bit of Okonomiyaki with a twist as it involves a crepe dough with toppings though Bing Mi tops it with various meats like bacon, BBQ Pork or their current special was Lup Cheong a Chinese Sausage. Since I had plans that evening I decided to keep it simple and got the "Classic Loaded" which is the veggie and at $13 it sure was loaded and made fresh right in front of you.The pop was collaborated with the ROW Kaka'ako which was just fun and a perfect combination as many flock over and took videos which the cooking process is so cool as it's filled with a scrambled egg, pickled vegetables, chili paste, cilantro and green onions and a humongous wonton cracker it was just a heavenly bite as it's not spicy but loaded with flavor all around. The staff is great explaining to various folks who never tried it before and the vibe along with ROW Kaka'ako on this evening was just chill.Thank you!

Bing Mi Hawaii popped up in Hawaii on May 5th at Fishcake Hawaii (307 Kamani Street in Kakaako). They are looking for a fixed location but they will be popping up at Fishcake every 2nd and 4th Thursday (and other days when regular vendor cannot make it). They are also at Aloha Farm Lovers x Village Events Hawaii on Saturdays at Pearlridge. Follow them on IG to find out their schedule for now! IG: @bing.mi808Originally started in Portland, Oregon (they have now branched out to Honolulu, Hawaii!), Bing Mi specializes in making Jianbing, "one of the most popular street food originated from villages of Northern China. It's almost like a savory crepe but crunchy!"Btw, one of the owners Mark is a fellow Okinawan!I stopped by Fishcake. There are three stalls in front that you can park in for 15 minutes to take your food to go. Opted for a bacon jianbing and a special kalua pig jianbing. Payment is cash, credit card or apple pay. They're all made to order, so expect a wait if there are a lot of orders before you. They're really good at estimating the how long and let you know. I didn't mind. It's like watching a show as they cook up the jianbings! Mark started by pouring and spreading out a thin layer of batter on a round griddle. Then he cracked some eggs on the crepe like batter and spread that out. Then he added on a bing sauce. You can specify how spicy you want the sauce (zero, mild, spicy) Then cilantro, pickled things, and lettuce. You have a choice on what protein you want. Tofu, bacon, bbq pork, etc. Then he places big pieces of crispy wonton crackers and folds it all up! The jianbing is wrapped up like a burrito, cut in half and served to you. So easy to eat this way. I only needed 1 napkin, so not messy at all. This was so flavorful! The soft crepe like wrap contrasted so well with the crispy wonton crackers. In all honesty, this was the first jianbing I ate so I can't judge or compare it to others. I know that I really enjoyed eating this! Thomas Ohhh described it as an Asian Crunchwrap Supreme. Please go support a fellow Uchinanchu!

Unique find at the pearlridge farmer's market!Loved the contrast between the soft crepe/eggs and the crunchy lettuce/wonton chips. The medium spice level was perfect for us. Would definitely eat again :) ~$16 and portion was sizeable for the cost

Saw a reel featuring Bing Mi on Insta and it looked so good! We haven't had jian bing since the last time we were in China so we HAD to check it out. They have a regular pop up at the Hapa Market in Palolo which used to be Rainbow Market back in the day. I think they're there Wednesday thru Friday but you might want to check their insta posts.Made to order, there's several to choose from -classic (vegetables, no meat), pork floss, bacon, tofu, kalua pig, lup chong, char siu and other specials. They just started offering roasted chicken. It's pretty impressive-we easily shared one. Inside there's egg, crispy cracker, lettuce and veggies with the bing sauce. You can get the sauce mild, medium or hot. We got the mild and it was pretty mild. Next time we'll try the medium which they say is sriracha hot. We also went light on the sauce which was perfect- I'm prefer to not over sauce my food. Came out piping hot, light and crispy. Oh yah! Prices run from $13 to 15.The guava lemonade was refreshing too!Only downside is no AC. There were several tables to eat inside, but it was too hot. There are two picnic benches out in the lot so we chose to eat there. We definitely will be coming back for more!
