Elizabeth M MADE ME DO THIS!!!! And... there are some things that can't wait to be told! Here is my story:Checking the Yelp happenings this morning and I see Elizabeth M checking in at this place at the Fort Street Farmers Market. So I'm thinking *** Terry, you have to stop for some documents in town so why not check out this place... "** I'm always looking for new and special gifts and favors*** I might find something*** And so I did!!Mochi, steamed to perfection (not baked like most) then dusted with their heavy dark chocolate powder and that is called their "Chubby Fudge". They have variety which includes combination of peanut butter and chocolate, peanut butter and azuki beans. They have mac nut covered with chocolate and then steamed in mocha then dusted with their cocoa powder. They have lilikoi with chocolate and the list goes on!!!!(I'm told the mochi will stay fresh for at least 4 days; kept in proper conditions I'm sure)Here's the greatest surprise and gift for me today! Do you know what it tastes like to eat sweet air????? REALLY!!!! Sweet puffs of goodness in a variety of flavors as well!!!! They have mochi marshmallows (if you can believe that!!!!) $2 for 1, $6 for 10. What a great deal. AND if you are true to yourself and don't want to load up on sugars, after of course your tummy says "yummy yummy in my tummy" , then get them as little gifts or favors!!! It will definitely be a hit! By the way, Kui works the Fort Street Farmers Market and he is quite the guy! ASKED if he could give me the story of how he makes the mochi, OFFERED me samplings of the sweet wonders, CHATTED with me as if I knew him forever!!! A DEFINITE MUST TRY FOR YOU ALL43/100 Yelp Review Challenge Los Angeles

Ahhh! Now I've discovered where my coworker has been buying those amazing mochi bites that she graciously shares on occasion! I wanted to stop by the Fort Street Mall farmer's market to get a small present for a friend. The La Tour bread was very tempting, but I wanted something that was clearly unique. When I came across the stand, I immediately recognized the mochi rectangles and knew my search was over. While the stand worker (I'm guessing also the creator) helped the customer in front of me, I learned a bit more about the mochi and the stand. He explained that they wouldn't be at the farmer's market every week, but they were going to try to come as frequently as possible. He carefully identified each of the flavors available, noting that some of the popular items (like azuki bean) were already sold out for the day. When he finished with the customer in front of me, he warmly thanked me for waiting. I purchased a sampler of three flavors for $5. While packing up my choice, he also wrapped up a vanilla strawberry bite as a sample to try. He thanked me warmly as I left. I'll definitely be back for more!

Now a highlight of the downtown farmer's market on Fort Street Mall, Bentos Mochi Delectables is my latest treasured discovery! Owners Kui and Kristin are as sweet as their delectable mochi and marshmallow treats, handing out these amazing confections in mouthwatering flavors that are as much a feast for the eyes as the palate. Though you'll want to savor every bite, it's way too easy to munch them down before a picture can be taken. First-timers may want to try the chubby fudgy bites featuring six stubby finger-sized morsels at $4 for the musubi-container pack. If a chi chi dango mochi married a chocolate fudge brownie, these little chubbettes are the adorbs result! Or, for $3.75 a piece, a dark chocolate truffle mochi will have you swooning over the dense chocolateee center enveloped by the chocolateee mochi covering. The handmade marshmallows are unlike anything I've ever had before, fresh and light as air, none of that store bought packaged goods fakey taste. This is the real deal. Loved the salted chocolate caramel marshmallow, but a new flavor is a mint chocolate chip marshmallow that tastes every bit like my favorite San Francisco-style mint chocolate chip ice cream!Buy one or buy a set, these make terrific gifts for the holidays or anytime of the year. Look for their kiosk just past Macy's on Fort Street Mall during the Tuesday and Friday farmer's markets. Enjoy!
