Malia Delapenia beautiful dancer and amazing teacher. I have only been to a few classes but I am already noticing positive mental and physical changes within myself. If you're looking for something new to try I highly recommend taking one of Malia's classes or workshops.

One of my favorite belly dancers and beautiful soul is Malia DelaPenia. This year we hired Malia to dance at the 6th Annual Venetian Mask Ball /80s Pop Muzik held at Bar 35 and as always she delivered quality performance, art and amazing talent. People love her and when they know she's performing, they want to see her because she delivers grace, exudes sensuality and passion.As a long time promoter in the Hawaii nightlife scene, I've worked with so many talented artists, dancers, DJs in the industry and what I really appreciate about Malia which separates her from some other talents who I have worked with is that Malia takes the time to also promote herself by sharing the event on her social media sites and letting her friends and fans know where she will be performing . Not many people do this and it's a pet peeve of mine. Being an artist myself, when I get hired to DJ at any event, I promote myself because I'm appreciative of the promoter or event who hired me. Malia understands this because she's also a promoter herself, she's the founder of the successful annual event Belly Dancers in Paradise held at the Doris Duke Theatre in October of every year. I'm impressed that after Malia's performance at the Venetian Mask Ball, she stayed around to mingle with the crowd and dance to my set and didn't just leave. It shows how respectful and appreciative she is. Malia is authentic and we totally adore her. If you ever need a dancer, hire Malia ! She also teaches dance. Take her class, be inspired! You will ! You are getting quality performance and she has a great following as well. Thank you Malia for all that you do for Hawaii's local entertainment and nightlife scene !

Malia and her troupe kicked off our the Voyager PCS 6th Annual Concert Fundraiser with their amazing belly dancing performance. Wow! This event was held on The Great Lawn at Bishop Museum and they used the whole lawn, and captivated the audience. The music was great, the dancing even better. It was a family event, and the dancing was absolutely appropriate for kids. These ladies love to dance and it really shows.

Malia is a great teacher! I have been in her dance classes for over a year now, and I love it! Her classes are really fun, exciting and challenging. I always come away feeling alive, refreshed, and tired! She has a great way of being both super strict, and warmly supportive, at the same time. And she inspires!! I really recommend her classes and her annual show for folks of all ages and backgrounds, as she is very skilled at "right sizing" practice and choreography to match the students' ability and experience. She is AWESOME!!Its been a year since I first posted this review. I still LOVE Malias class so much. It is fun and challenging and always new and different. Malia's sense of humor and mannerisms keep things interesting and easy. I always go home feeling refreshed and enlivened and empowered! It's a fabulous class, good for the body and soul! I recommend it for any level student!

Malia's energy and passion for middle eastern dance is contagious. I studied with some world renown dancers in NYC so the bar was set pretty high when I moved here. After one class with Malia I was hooked. Her demeanor in class makes you feel as if you have been her bestfriend for years. She finds ways to make the class challenging for intermediate or advanced students while also not overwhelming beginners. Her encouragement is always plentiful and she really takes the time to care about each one of her students. You leave her class with a lot of confidence in your abilities. This confidence is very well deserved since her drills absolutely strengthen your movements. In addition to being a fantastic teacher, the passion Malia dances with is unparalleled. Whether she's playing finger cymbals with the hawaii symphony orchestra or performing at a small intimate venue, Malia puts her heart into every performance. It is hard to find a person more beautiful both inside and out.

I have been taking this class with Malia for 6 years now, dancing in her Shimmystars group for 4 years and under her wing for solos this past year. I have nothing but love. She is an amazing dance instructor and human being. In class she is able to teach to all levels of students at the same time. So no matter if it's your 1st time or 100th time in class, Malia will be able to break things down for beginners or add things on for advanced students to keep it a challenge. I recommend this class for anyone who is a teeny but interested in bellydancing. It's a great workout and it helps you to be in touch with your feminine side. I absolutely love this dance! And Malia!!

We needed a bellydancer for an employee cultural event recently, and I contacted Malia Delepenia. She responded to my request straightaway and sent a wonderfully talented performer named Casandra. She dazzled and entertained our staff with a creative and energetic performance. She arrived early, mingled with our staff, and was very personable. I am looking forward to working with Malia and her crew in the future. Bravo!

Malia Delapenia is an excellent dancer and teacher who is committed to sharing her love and passion of belly dancing and its culture. Her classes give us a rigorous work out but we always have fun. I look forward to dancing with her again in 2017.
