My flight landed early, and after I got my car, I was hungry. I bookmarked Bella, and just when I thought I was going to go to Liliha Bakery for lunch, I saw the sign! Turned around (in the Liliha parking lot LOL!) and came back. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but since it was Sunday, the meters were free. Scored a spot near the front!Friendly hello when I walked in. Ordered a chicken banh mi and a Vietnamese coffee. I would have to agree with Ryan M (Aloha Ryan! Will our paths ever cross over here?), that the coffee is balanced just right! The sandwich was delicious! Nice crispy bread and crunchy vegetables. I don't eat the peppers, but they leave a nice spicy flavor. Deliciously cooked chicken!Since they don't have any seating, I drove over to Mother Waldron park. I didn't know about the parking in back, but if you need to grab lunch, this is a great place to come to!!!

I had been meaning to go here for sometime and finally got a chance. I was happy to find that they had parking in the back (convenience is important to me). I ordered the chicken banh mi and coffee jello. I was thinking the coffee jello was going to be a tub of coffee jello but I loved that it was a drink - because I really love those.The sandwich was tasty and had a nice amount of filling. And I really enjoyed the drink - it's fun to smash up the jello.

Two of my friends raved about Bella Banh Mi Cafe so I had to go give them a try. I've passed by a few times but never realized they have parking in the back. It's not the biggest parking lot so if it is full, you will have to look for street parking. There is about 12 stalls and 1 handicap stall available. The restaurant is cozy and their menu is simple. Takeout only as there is only a counter to order from and the kitchen in the back. They only have 4 options for Banh Mi! That's perfect because usually a place like this focuses on what they are good at and usually doesn't disappoint. Banh Mi is in their name of the restaurant so I had to order that. I ordered 1 Saigon Special Banh Mi and 1 BBQ Pork Banh Mi. For good measure, I also ordered 1 Shrimp and Pork Summer Roll because several reviews said to order it if they are not sold out. They quoted me a 5-6 minute wait but it took them just a blink of an eye to get my order out. Both Banh Mi sandwiches came with jalapeño, cilantro, pickled carrots and daikon and cucumbers inside a fresh baguette. The Summer Roll came with the typical peanut dipping sauce. I thought the BBQ Pork Banh Mi pork meat was well seasoned with a nice grilled flavor to it. The Saigon Special had a nice mix of flavors. Their Summer Roll was huge and refreshing. I did see 1 BBQ Pork Summer Roll available and passed on it since I ordered a BBQ Pork Banh Mi but I think it would be delicious now after trying their BBQ Pork. This is a great spot to pick up food from to bring on your flight! They said they can put the veggies on the side to keep the sandwich from getting soggy. I'm definitely stopping by before my next trip. Legit Banh Mi restaurant that didn't disappoint.

Great Banh Mi and my absolute favorite the Viet Ice Coffee. Service here was fast and they are quick to serve. Definitely another place to check out if you love Banh Mi or have a craving.

The bread here is absolutely incredible! They pack their bahn mi with lots of veggies and herbs so it balances perfectly with all the meats. I got the Saigon Special which was amazing. The bread was perfectly crunchy and there was a nice blend of veggies and meats. I would highly recommend the Saigon Special. The vietnamese coffee was alright. I'd probably skip on this next time. The noodle bowl was delicious and refreshing especially for a hot summer day. There isn't much on their menu but I like it because as an indecisive person, sometimes I need simple options. I like to call in the order so it's ready when I get there. It can be difficult to find parking since there's a bus stop near the shop and there isn't much street parking. The staff is always nice and friendly! Will be back to try their other bahn mis!!

4.5 starsA small shop on liliha street that serves mainly banh mi sandwiches. They also serve non fried summer rolls and vermicelli noodle bowls, I did not see a sign or prices for these but I saw them ready for pick up phone orders. I got the bbq pork banh mi and Vietnamese coffee. The banh mi was delicious. Crispy flakey bread, flavorful pork, and lots veggies, pickled carrots, dikon radish, cilantro and jalapeños. The Vietnamese coffee was also very good. Not overly sweet or bitter. A nice balance of flavor. It's a small place so there's no where to eat inside, It's all take out,. There's 2-3 parking spots in the back, be sure not to park in the numbered stalls they require a permit and are reserved for people in the complex.Since they didn't have a place to eat I took it to nearby kunawai park.

Banh mi sandwiches. I love a good banh mi sandwich. And Bella Banh Mi in Liliha hits the mark! Owned by husband and wife team, Thomas and Alex Le Tran, the restaurant was named after their daughter, Bella, and opened on 11/17/2019. Originally from Viet Nam, wife Alex works in the kitchen, while hubs Thomas is in the front, taking your orders and payment, and packaging your items for takeout. The initially offered a simple menu of banh mi sandwiches and later expanded to summer rolls and vermicelli bowls.Bella Banh Mi is known for their Vietnamese sandwiches, and their simple current sandwich menu includes: Saigon Special (pate, Vietnamese ham, pork belly); BBQ pork; BBQ chicken; and vegetarian (tofu, roasted rice, cabbage, carrots, leek). All sandwiches come with generous amounts of cilantro, sweet and sour pickled carrots/daikon, and jalapeno slices.I've tried their BBQ pork and BBQ chicken banh mi, and both are excellent! Lots of smoky, charred flavor in the pork and chicken that are juicy and well-seasoned and complement the crisp, veggies. If you like spicy, the jalapeno will certainly give you a jolt and while they're a little too hot for me, I'll pick them out for my hubby, as he loves them! The fresh French bread is perfect, as its crispy crust is not overly hard, and has a soft, chewy interior that complement the meats and veggies well. I love their packaging for takeout orders, as the sandwiches are cut in half, wrapped in white paper, and inserted into a brown paper bag with a cellophane window; the package is taped so that the sandwich doesn't move around.They offer drinks: Vietnamese coffee, coffee jello w/ soymilk, mungbean milk, and black tea lemonade with lychee jello.While there's no restaurant signage, Bella Bahn Mi also offers:* Summer rolls: shrimp/pork, grilled pork sausage, bbq pork, vegetarian. The rolls include the meats, rice paper, vermicelli noodles, basil, mint, cucumbers, and lettuce with the restaurant's homemade peanut sauce. The vegetarian rolls and bowls include the same ingredients as the banh mi sandwiches.* Vermicelli noodle bowls (cold): bbq pork, bbq chicken, vegetarian. The bowls include the meats, vermicelli noodles, basil, mint, cucumber, pickled carrots, ground peanuts, and roasted onions.You'll likely be putting your order in with owner Thomas, who is very friendly, welcoming, nice, efficient, and accommodating. Waiting time for your order is fast.The restaurant is very small and is strictly takeout. There were one or two tables for dine-in prior to Covid, but the restaurant has done well in being strictly takeout. Most of the small interior area of the shop is for staff prep area. A nice display case of colored coffee filters and Café Du Monde coffee cans is near the entrance, which blocks you from going further inside. The interior walls are nicely decorated with artificial flower arrangements, colorful Chinese paper lanterns, and talented artwork by daughter Bella.Hours of operation are from Sun to Fri, 8a to 2p, and Sat closed. Bella Bahn Mi is located on the ewa (west) side of Liliha St., across the street from McDonalds. Turn into Holokahana Lane from Liliha St. and park free in any of the stalls in the back of the restaurant. Call in your order for fast pick up if there is a line during the peak lunch hours. Note that they do sell out of items towards the end of their closing times.I look forward to returning to try their vermicelli bowls and summer rolls! And when I have a craving for their banh mi sandwiches, Bella Banh Mi will be there for me! Hope they can satisfy your craving too! Support local!

I was a bit skeptical since the price is pretty high for a banh mi being at $10.50 each with only 4 options: Saigon Special, Bbq Pork, Bbq Chicken, and Vegetarian. There's really not a menu they just have a chalkboard so I'm assuming either their menu changes or they offer ver limited options. I saw a sparse tray in the back near the register that had a tray of spring rolls order and another item so I'm assuming those are offered throughout the day until they sell out. They are very tight meaning you only have room to walk in and order and pay. The sandwiches are premade which is nice so there's no wait. As soon as we ordered and paid, we got the food. It wasn't soggy or anything either.I got the Special and Bbq Pork. They were both really good surprisingly but the special was my favorite. It came jam packed with cold cuts and I've never seen this before but they add pork floss! I haven't ate that since a kid. They were nicely packaged and were delicious!

Bella Banh Mi Cafe how I love you! When I am feeling a little naughty and craving a banh mi you are the one that jumps into my brain! Bella's makes a slightly smaller, definitely worth the price banh mi. And at now just $10, of great value...! One of three of my favorite banh mi sandwiches on the island. Because of the proximity to where I live and ease of parking, this is the place I usually go to!The flavors @ Bella are spot on and very fresh. The vegetables plentiful and quality grade. Love the crunch on the veges as well as the bread! Love that low and lingering burn of the jalapeño pepper. Also enjoy the Vietnamese noodle bowls and summer wraps. On a hot day, sometimes even a Vietnamese coffee!Parking is convenient and free just in the back of the building. Access is via little lane alongside.Thank you Bella for the delicious AND more than reasonable Vietnamese food that you serve!
