BBQ Hut

BBQ Hut name is misleading. It is KoreanBBQ. That said the spicy pork BBQ was scrumptious. The char on the meat was just right and gave it a smoky flavor. I had the mini with 3 sides as I can't eat rice. The seaweed salad, cooked cabbage and chop chai were very good. I had leftovers. It's more of a takeaway place than a dining room. The staff were very nice.

Favorite place to get my fast food KBBQ. Portion is not as much as other places but the taste and freshness always hits. Placed a phone order and person was polite and nice! Upon pick up she was as pleasant! Just hoped the portion were more.

Tried here for the first time bc Waikele has been nuts with the traffic lately lol. I ordered the kalbi meat jun combo which cost $22.99. I must say it's pricey but show me a Korean plate that is not anymore. This was worth it. The flavors were ono. And I'm one to not use sauce so the meat jun was good even without the sauce. As for the service, our cashier/server was so nice! She matched my shoyu veggies together, just how I like it! The place was clean but we didn't eat there. It was also empty, but it was a Sunday evening so probably slow anyway. Overall I really liked this place and will go there again over Waikele BBQ. It's farther from our house but worth the drive. Btw my BF got the spicy chicken wings and he said it was good. But he didn't like the Mac salad.

The owner is very stingy with everything and is mean. I work upstairs and have probably come by 5 times for monster or food and she always had something to say. Everytime I ordered food, the portions were always small and never justified the steep price they charge. It's like potatoes were going extinct or something.I went in for just a monster a couple times and she made me feel bad because I wasn't ordering food from her. I'm already paying $4 for this monster and now you're mad I won't eat your food???Lastly today, I just wanted one cup of meat Jun sauce because I packed some for lunch and forgot the sauce. I didn't expect to get some for free, so I brought 50 cents with me (Crazy how life works now lol)I walk in, there's a sign that clearly says sauce is 25 cents. I ask for one meat jun sauce and the lady tells me no, we don't give away the sauce. I said I'm not asking for it for free, I'll pay for it.She looks at me like I'm stupid and repeats herself, we don't sell the sauce.So I asked why is there a sign then?I'm pissed at this point and this is the owner I'm speaking to mind you. She eventually charges me a quarter for the sauce because she was under the impression I got the meat Jun from her.I could care less about being charged a quarter for some sauce, but it's the principle. How can one be so stingy about something so minuscule. CrazyI'm just really sad because the food is actually pretty good for what they DO give you and I was considering catering for my parties in the future since I work upstairs. We used love coming to this place, but the last two times we ordered the bbq chicken and chopchae were over seasoned (karai). The chicken taste like it's been soaking in the marinade for a long time and it's not freshly made to order! It's a bit overcooked and dry. The chicken used to be so good! The daikon kimchi is still pretty decent! I'm not sure if it's new owners and the food changed a bit!

Meat juhn was so thin I couldn't taste the meat. Chop Jae had too much pepper, and my mandoo was burnt. So sad that this place is terrible and it has to be so close to my home.

Sadly we won't be coming here no more. Came here to get our fast food BBQ fix and was very disappointed. Price for a regular plate almost $20 and what's worse is that the serving size was so much smaller than before. The lady was so chang with the sides. I can see if you raise prices and keep the portion size the same but when you up the price and also give less, that's a problem. In the past the other lady would give a good amount for the sides. On another note, we're not coming here no more since they DISCONTINUED the potato salad!!!! That was something that was a must have and I always ordered 2 of that for my sides. So very disappointed!!! Thank goodness there's other Korean places in Waipahu that offer the potato salad. Even if a little further down the road I can still get my Korean and potato salad fix!

Tried this place for the first time because we wanted to try more restaurants near us, and I'm glad we did. I got the BBQ Chicken plate, and with how good everything tasted, I would go back and get the exact same thing. I appreciated the lady preparing my plate, she was very generous with how much of each side she was giving, especially the long rice (always my go-to side at places like this.) Everything in this plate was very flavorful. I listed my exact order in the picture description, highly recommend.

The marinade for the bbq got salty... yikes! Not sure what's happening. So stick to the meat/fish Jun & fried mandoo.

Food was good. Vegetables were fresh! Large portions which for the price I'd expect. Customer service was good too.
