Having lived in Thailand for 6 years, I'm so happy there is Basil Thai, the food is so authentic tasting. Great place to go when I'm missing Thai food and the staff and the owner are so nice with the customary warm Thai hospitality.

First time I had their food was a little bit salty...which I liked. This time was bland and very watery. So much veggies I think it thinned out the curry. I do like all the veggies though, so that is good. Ordered sticky rice for a $2 upcharge. Right before my order came out they said they were out...odd they didn't know it sooner. They gave me a refund but much rather have just had sticky rice. This was lunch time, so not sure if that means they don't have sticky rice for the remainder of the day? Despite it all, they are very nice there. I'll probs go back b/c of the convenience, but hope they up their game a bit...

We have ordered take out from here quite a bit since their opening in Downtown Honolulu. Everything we have had is tasty and we want to try everything on the menu.Portions are okay. When you order noodles and rice dishes portions are pretty generous. The appetizers seem a little small for the price points and if may not be enough you are sharing with a group.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this new restaurant on Fort St. Mall and decided to try them out for a late lunch on a Saturday. Bottom line -- they're good! About $15 for basil eggplant with chicken and jasmine rice. Compared to Bangkok Chef (my go-to for Thai takeout), I think you get a little less and it costs a little more, but the food is more restaurant quality. Service is also great. The server was super friendly, and the food came out pretty fast. I'll definitely be going back!

Finally tried yesterday, and it didn't disappoint! It's a small spot with limited seating, but the quality of the food is top-notch. It's super close to our office, which makes it a convenient go-to for Thai cravings. The food was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by their generous servings. Definitely worth a visit

Only 4* for now because I've only tried their drunken noodles. Service was great! They brought some ice cold water to my table and I received my food right away and steaming hot! I'm not downtown very often but I would try Basil Thai again if I was in the area.

Maybe I missed a couple signs, but first and last time eating here. I told them it was my first time there; which wasn't enough to tell I had not paid attention to the hours or that I didn't know there were no seats to eat on site. Probably my fault for not looking for any signs but I asked/found out after I had paid for my meal and had given a tip too. I was told there was no dining in at this location. They were probably closing up earlier today as they were cleaning up so I understand. The food was good as I waited to do the review after I had eaten. I decided to try here on a whim and it is not going to be a place I revisit since I rarely come to this area

Small restaurant but has 3 tables that fit 4 people each and a small table outside for 2 people, pricing is matched well with the portions and we actually had a lot leftover (we are a family of 3 but I'm usually the biggest eater ). The flavor of the different foods brought me back to my trips to Thailand (Been to Pattaya, Bangkok and all over Issan). Definitely coming back again, I would highly suggest giving this place a try, your palate may be different from mines, but like they say "You'll never know if you don't try". Enjoy and Khob Khun Krap

The restaurant only has one chef. It took a long time to get my chicken and pineapple fried rice. The fried rice was ok and the chicken was dried. Not sure if I will return....maybe call in my order first next time.
