Baked goods at the Kailua Town Farmer's Market...Open every Sunday morning from 8am to noon, I've watched Baker Dude for the past few weeks. The lines for fresh pastries was always long...This week, I decided to get in line early!I know that Baker Dudes has a shop on Alakea Street. The parking in downtown Honolulu isn't the best, so, I avoid the area. That's why i chose to patronize Baker Dude at the Kailua Town Farmer's Market! There's lots of street parking around the Pali Lanes area in Kailua. If you park in a metered stall, parking on Sundays is free anyway! I usually park in the free covered garage in front of Longs Drug Store. Enter from Kailua Road.If you have a good sense of smell, you'll find Baker Dude when you follow your nose. The fresh aroma of pastries will lead you to the stall. There were a few customers in line already. SERVICE: The guy was really hustling by fielding questions about ingredients - he was amazingly knowledgeable - while gently packaging goodies. The female worker was tending to a goose in a stoller! I kid you not! It was quite amusing! When she was done with making the goose comfy, she cleaned her hands and donned gloves. She was as efficient and friendly as the male worker!I limited myself to two items: the Blueberry Lilikoi Cinnamon Roll and the Apple Turnover. I'm so glad that I devoured them at home because they were so flakey and I was making a mess! I probably was emitting strange noises with each bite and attempting to contain my drooling! Gosh! LOL! Anyway, if you want some high quality baked goods, I would suggest that you give Baker Dude a try. If you work in downtown, stop by at the shop. If not, the Sunday morning Kailua Town Farmer's Market is a great shopping experience! I'll be back for some scones, cookies, and bread!

This company is part of the Kailua Farmers Market that I attend on Sunday's. As stated in that review the best time to hit this stall is right before closing around 12. All their products go on saleFor half off or BOGO free. Their bread is great and their croissants are phenomenal. Check them out!

The Baker Dude's tent is in the Kailua Town Farmer's Market which is the new haute thing. The Dudes rigged an oven in the back of their pickup truck and pump out trays of turnovers and stuffed croissants. Is that safe? Just keep those flames away from the gas tank.Regardless, they make some pretty dam good turnovers. Wife and I went last week Sunday. They had a crazy old guy baking. This guy was mad as a hatter with his tie dye baker outfit. You know what they say about crazy people...they are the best artists! We ordered the raspberry and apple turnovers. His turnovers were FLAKEY!How flakey? Flakier than the lady teaching yoga in the grass where all the dogs do their business. That's super flakey. They also sell savory croissants with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes and artichokes...gourmet-licious!We came back again this week. No crazy guy :(The baker dudes were not on their "A" game.Turnovers were undercooked and doughy. Blecch!Prices are bit steep too at three bucks a turnover. They have a two for five special also. The saving grace is they sell them for one dollar near closing time.Protip: if you do the yoga in the grass, wash your hands before eating a pastry.

Vendor located at Kailua Farmers Market in the parking lot of Kailua Elementary school on Sundays. Accepts credit card which is great. Stopped here to grab a sticky bun and ended up purchasing a few bags of cookies and loafs for a lunch I was heading to. I really enjoyed the sticky bun hard to find one not to sweet and moist like this one. Haven't tried the other goodies bcuz I left it at the luncheon but hope to stop by again to buy more and different goodies

Dude, where's my croissant? These pastries are definitely my Sunday morning kryptonite. Why, in a plethora of fresh fruits and veggies, would I be swayed by the buttery, flaky wonderfulness of these baked goods? (Sorry, that was a rhetorical question.) They do add in asparagus, spinach, sun-dried tomato, and artichoke in several of the savory varieties. That has to count for something, right? The apple turnovers also satisfy my (highly demanding) sweet tooth. I'm iffy on the sticky bun, which is the only item so far that hasn't completely won my taste buds over. Not a problem, though, since there is a mad selection to choose from! Getting your order in can be helter-skelter (stroller moms are no joke), but stay resilient, folks.

I think they used to be at farmers market, but either way their breads, especially the one with sunflower seeds are real good and heavy. For some reasons, most folks or bakeries have to fill their bread with air, what gives? As soon as you put spread of mayo the slices soak it in and give way, not theirs. Two thumbs up. I was here on my last vacation in august and staff (the teenage gal) was welcoming and polite. Thank you.
