Our first Oahu vacation and we stayed in room 1004 at Waikiki Sunset. I found that this room was comfortable, easy, family friendly and close to the beach, ABC store, and food. I was able to make breakfast daily, which allowed me to remain in a food budget, since we were traveling with 4 adults and 1 child. I mainly shopped at Walmart for groceries. The room had cleaning products, paper towels, 2 rolls of toilet paper, and tide pods. I requested for an air mattress which was free and comfortable for my young adult daughter. What I bought from my grocery: rice, eggs, coffee, creamer, 4 gallons of water, bottles of water, pancake mix, syrup, bananas, Portuguese sausages, juice, cleaning spray, paper plates, paper towels and toilet paper. (I did purchase cleaning products since I didn't know they had some; probably better to settle in the air bnb prior to going to the grocery store). The walk to Waikiki beach was less than 10 minutes, there was an ABC store in the middle of the walk. This was convenient for treats and snacks, or anything needed immediately. There are quite a few restaurants and stores in this area, Waikiki Sunset is located at the end of Waikiki, so there is less noise and less traffic. At the end of the trip, I borrowed a luggage carrier to load my vehicle. We brought back pineapples from Hawaii to California. I highly recommend you do too! 4 out of 5 stars, since they only provided 1 paper towels roll, 2 toilet papers, and 2 dish towels. Otherwise, I was happy in room 1004.

Do not stay here. It's extremely run down and needs a deep clean. Our first room's mattress smelled like urine, and once house keeping came to checked on it and confirmed, it took an hour for us to move to a new room since their system is down. We were given a paper with notification of maintenance occurring for certain days, but it did not include some issue on 9/26 which has woke us up from a nap due to the rattling and noise. When I called the front desk, they confirmed something was going on the 9th floor and then hung up on me when I was trying to talk more. Extremely poor experience and will not return or recommend.

Actually I was at the Ashton Executive Centre Hotel in downtown Honolulu. It was a nice one night stay. It's a business hotel in building that is retail stores & condos. It doesn't have a real restaurant but there are MANY diverse & excellent places within a shortish walk. The very large suite to which we were upgraded for some reason was ideally located high up in the sky with a great view of the harbor. There are also several tourist sites that were close by though it is not really a tourist area. I downgraded it to a 3 star because it's not in a tourist area but it is a nice hotel & close to the pier if you are going on a cruise as part of a vacation. And finally, the desk staff is incredibly nice.

Just spent 6 nights and 7 days in Hawaii and stayed here. While I was aware of the work being done on the building it was still an eye sore. However , our balcony view more than took up for that . Their ocean view rooms are more of a Diamond Head view (and the pictures the hotel has doesn't do it justice !) but still very beautiful . We had a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen . One room was a lot smaller than the other and had a queen bed . The other room was bigger and had 2 twin beds (we pushed them together). The bathroom is a little small for a 2 bedroom , but still met all of our needs. .Our bedroom had a really nice view of the ocean , however it is obstructed by other hotels and businesses. Their DVD rental machine was out of order our entire stay , so why they gave us the card for the machine , was pointless. The kitchen came with the basics and we were able to cook meals easily . Housekeeping staff was extremely nice and always wanting to make sure we had everything we needed. This hotel is like 2-3 blocks away from the Waikiki beach ..... but go on an adventure like my fiancé and I , walk about 1.5 miles from your hotel and you'll find Makalei beach! Given that the hotel was having work done, which included time periods where we didn't have water or ac , I feel like we could have gotten a break on the resort fees. Overall, it was a good stay and I think we got the good bang for our buck! I'd stay here again .

we stayed here for 5 nights.location great, but really that's its. Im surprised it has so many good reviews.the place smells, like it stinks. its old and musty. The carpet has holes and lines cut in everywhere. There is a daily resort fee that is a joke, because no one uses this place as anything more than just a place to sleep.Parking is $25 a day and make sure you get in early cause they run out of spots fast.Everything there is third party, from the parking to the laundry - which wasn't working from floors 30 and up.the TVs in the room are old and tiny. There are plates and cups but nothing to cook with....Would not stay here again.

This property seems to be a mix of managed properties and a hotel so I think your experience may vary based on where you stay. We booked a rental room and our place was awesome - newly redone, great view. The resort facilities were okay - maybe a little dated, but I don't have a problem with that. The two biggest complaints I have are regarding the building.- Elevator availability - there are four elevators available for the entire building. Which means you can end up waiting a while to get an elevator, especially during peak times. I felt bad for housekeeping who would have to wait with their carts for elevators with space.- The building fire alarm triggered THREE TIMES during our stay. Once it went off at 5:57am, and we all evacuated the building. From the 28th floor. Down the stairs. The alarm turned off when we finally reached the 6th floor. Knowing what the elevator availability was going to be like, we just decided to walk to someplace for an early breakfast in our PJs. Not a great start to the day.I really hope they address the fire alarm issue - we were definitely getting a bit more lax in responding to the alarm by the time it went off for the third time. Not the response you want in the event of an actual fire. It's too bad since we actually had a great stay otherwise. I don't usually stay in Waikiki, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the eastern end. Close to the beach, Kapiolani Park/zoo, Kapahulu, Ala Wai canal, and a biki station across the street.

DO NOT STAY HERE. One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I was on vacation with family and they assigned us a handicap room? There was no problems with that but we were confused as to why they would give us a room that someone else could have needed as we did not book this particular room. The rooms themselves are okay, but definitely were not clean. There were stains in the sink and in the kitchen, as well on pieces of furniture that looked disgusting! As well the service and staff is unprofessional and do not offer any proper customer service. Some of my family members tried to discuss issues they were having with the staff and parking workers but were very uncooperative and rude! One blatantly yelled in my aunt's face when she was trying to politely address an issue she was having with the parking. Would not stay here again.
