This is our go to place when we want something good and don't want to cook. The Hawaiian plate (Laulau and Kailua pig), is great. It's so big I often try to only eat half and take the other for lunch... I fail and love it.

Let's start off with the good.Service * * * * .Ambiance ,Clean and spacious * * * *After reading many. mixed Yelp reviews we decided to try Asian grill. We started off with two appetizers. Fried oysters, and the fried calimari. Both were disappointing. The both had the same battered crust. The crust was too crunchy, with little taste. It didn't do justice to the oysters or the calimari. For entrees my brother-in-law and I ordered a mixed plate consisting of Shrimp Tempura and Teriyaki Steak. The Tempura didn't seem to be made in house. Breading lacked flavor. As for the teriyaki I left half behind. It was grizzly and tough. .My wife had the Chicken Oyaku Don.She didn't care for it and leftmore than half behind. Hope your experience is a better. Enjoy Opps I just notice that they didn't take the five dollars off per the display signage.

Well decided to check out Bento Box located upstairs in the Westridge shopping center . To my surprise their name change to Asian grill . Same owner because I asked our waitress .I remember when they first opened under Bento box lots of Yelper checked them out and they rated them between 3.5 to 4 stars .Well I'm not sure if there's a different cook but a little below the curve . My Teri steak was tough and rubbery and the shrimp tempura was pre-fab . It wasn't fresh it was frozen just deep fried oily and very crunchy over breaded .My sister had their chicken Oyako Donburi and just look at my pic it wasn't good at all . It lacked all the ingredients of a real Oyako Donburi. Well at least I tried and support local . Be safe and Happy Holidays

Went to take advantage of their 15% off entire bill special (posted on IG and sign at restaurant). My son remembers this place for their crispy Chicken Katsu, and glad to return for our Saturday dinner. Portions are great and reasonably priced. Perfect for hungry diners craving plate lunch favorites. Extra discount was a nice bonus after a filling meal.

We found this place on Yelp and came here fir lunch after visiting Pearl Harbor. The restaurant is located in an old strip mall on the second level. Although the mall has seem better days, the restaurant inside is clean and it turns out the food is excellent too.Definitely get their combo bento box with Teriyaki Chicken and Salmon. Humongous portions for the price, and quality too. Chicken pieces were cut large and super juicy. They must have piled on two thick salmon filets that were equally moist and juicy. One combo fed two adults and a picky 4-yo eater. As for their other entrees....Shoyu Pork Saimin was on the saltier side, as was the free miso soup. I liked the toppings of the Chicken Katsu and BBQ chicken musubis, but man they really added a brick of rice underneath all that protein that was impossible to finish.Note they also have a substantial boba tea menu if you need something to satisfy your sweet tooth.

New-ish Japanese restaurant in Aiea and also currently my favorite casual dining place in the "pearl" region. This place is located upstairs in Westridge, which is not typically a strip mall that I visit. Food here is good and the portions are generous. For the food, I often get takeout, but dining in for a combo plate got me a tray-style Japanese dish with furikake chicken and char siu with egg. Both were tasty and the portions were big. If I weren't a large eater myself, I could have easily shared the combo plate with a companion. Service was excellent, but if you are someone who is easily offended by a few typos on the menu, avoid this place. For takeout, my go-to items are the garlic salmon (which has a lot of garlic and other seasoning, if you are not a fan of garlic, stay away from this item), the chicken katsu curry (the curry had a lot of chicken in it which was a pleasant surprise), and the chicken oyako don (tasty and again, very generous portion). This place is a nice addition to the restaurants in Aiea, especially if you are trying to avoid the mall rush and crowd.

Solid restaurant in Pearlridge West Strip Mall serving variety of mixed and local fav Asian dishes. We dropped in early weekday evening so the place was pretty empty. We had a choice of sitting at a table or in the larger booth. Went with the booth since it was more private. The solo Server was friendly and accommodating. She gave us menus and water, and ample time to choose our meals before taking our order.Food came out quickly and everything was piping hot. We were satisfied with the price, quality and volume of the food. In fact, we took home some of the leftovers. There was quite a bit of Take-Out and Phone Order Pick-up traffic, so don't assume they're not getting business. Also, the interior is clean and well maintained...PS) I have no idea where the person who gave a 1 star review citing "sticky floors" went, but it certainly wasn't this establishment.

Decided to come here on a Friday night after work as I was hungry and wanted to try this new restaurant that took over the old Bento Box location. They had a very diverse menu with a mix of Japanese local and other types of Cuisine mixed in including Ramen and Curry. I ordered the combo meal with teri beef and tonkatsu which did not disappoint I was very surprised at the quantity of food given, but also the quality as the taste was on point. Recommend this place to anybody who wants to eat some good food and satisfy a hearty appetite.

First, this is a Chinese restaurant that makes Japanese style food. It matters as some of the flavors are a hybrid of the two. Second, they try VERY hard to deliver the best possible service; quickly taking orders, making sure water and tea are refilled, even opening the door for customers as they leave.Third, they are committed to ordering the right ingredients for their Japanese food. Rarely do I see the Cherry Company (wholesalers of all things Japanese) delivering to a non Japanese restaurant.Fourth, huge portions and low prices make this an extremely good value for the money. Put another way, prices are slightly higher than L&L for a larger portion of higher quality food.Solid house made gyoza, the filling more Chinese than Japanese meaning less fillers. Well made chicken katsu to go with a meaty chicken curry. Well cooked chicken in the oyako donburi albeit the seasoning was very different. White pepper?Be open to some possible different flavors albeit correctly cooked food and take advantage at the great value for the money. The quality definitely surpasses the other Pearl City Japanese eatery that relies on Valpack to keep its Golden Girls clientele coming through the doors.

Well I was looking forward to try something new. When we got there I was looking for a sign that says Japanese bento box restaurant but it said Asisan grill. I thought we're at a different location. Well we enter and my brother Craig mentioned what happened to Japanese bento box restaurant she said same owner just different name. I don't know if Asian grill was the original name before Japanese bento box restaurant took over and change name back again. Don't know. The service was good water, menu came and utensils. Now the food we ordered appetizers fried oysters, and fried calamari. Was so so.my husband and brother ordered combo Teri steak and shrimp tempura. The tempura so much crispy batter. Craig's steak also Gabriel one was lot of grizzlies. My donburi wasn't to my liking it was lacking something I can't pin point it. Didn't eat it all. Sorry. Try them if you like the chinese/japanese flare in taste.
