Aqua Skyline at Island Colony

One of the value hotels listed on Southwest Vacation packages. It has a kitchenette (cooktop, microwave, mini fridge) we like to cook some of our meals to save money. Our room was a mix of old and newer. The only main issue we experienced is the smoke and weed smell emanating from hallway. I asked the front desk if anything can be done about this- was told we can enforce non-smoking policy on hotel guests but not AirBnB . So this was our only glaring opportunity with our stay.

Night 1:1. Bugs, small roaches in our room2. Holes in the curtains3. Lanai door doesn't open (that's not scary at all)4. Confusing elevator systems, so many elevators but also so many signs that they go to different things I.e. pool, parking, etc.5. (my biggest problem) is the in room coffee maker doesn't work. I need my coffee!!6. Oh yeah, no valet or free parking here. Between $25-$35 daily for parking.7. Smelled cigarette smoke all night longNights 2-4 (different room from night 1)1. HUGE roach!!! Think B52!2. Drapes are holey.3. Tub is old and cracked and feels like I'm going to fall through it to the floor below. And it's dirty.4. Towels have black stains on them5. No kitchen sink in this room, but bathroom sink is made to function as kitchen sink.6. Finally figuring out the confusing elevator system. New hotel guests look as confused as I felt in the beginning of this stay.7. Employees located near elevators are grumpy and unhelpful.8. If you want to use the bathroom or luggage cart in lobby, be prepared to surrender your ID until you return bathroom key or luggage cart.9. While fridge is bigger, no freezer.10. Looks like blood in bathroom wall. Ew!

I'm an Uber delivery driver and let me tell you your bus security guard and front lobby person are very rude. For starters the bolo head lobby guy didn't even get off his personal phone call to help give directions for drop off. His vague directions led me to the rudest security guard ever. She was not even professional, ignored letting me in until prompted by the lobby guy and then ignored my question for directions. She also was giving the meanest looks. Fucking don't work in the hospitality industry and get off this island if you're gonna act like that

Tall building. Has a nice view of Ala Wai Canal. They had beach towels for check out. The 49er cafe was not a bad option for dinner and such. The parking lot was a small so parking was a tough squeeze. The bathrooms could use some updating and maintenance. The elevators!!! You have to wait forever for them. Also, tried taking the stairs to go down but a lot of them were locked which is kind of concerning in case of a fire. Their hot tub and pool was nice. They have a water filling station and a small mart on that floor too. Perk is that it's walking distance to Waikiki beach. You don't need a car to do a lot in that area.

I stayed here for AirBnb. AirBnb is great. However this building's facilities are lacking. The laundromat has double the washers than dryers (Considering dryers take so much more longer than washing). The sizes of dryers are also much smaller than the washers. We had a couple of loads and we weren't lucky enough to secure even 1 dryer. We just went to our balcony and laid all of our clothes out.

Very close to beach and other places near by. Walking distance to beach is 10 minutes

THIS HOTEL NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN. HOTEL INSPECTION COME HERE NOW. Warning you now, please do not stay here. Deserves negative stars. The first room we had, room 912 had several cockroaches. They were dead in the shower, roaming on the bathroom floor, on the kitchen floor, near our beds, on the ceilings, and in the cabinets where the food plates were. Do not get me started on the dirty unsanitary kitchenware. When we got moved to room 819, there was a used plate in the microwave and another cockroach in the shower. Elevators sounded like hell, it made my girlfriend and I worried every time we would use them. Stained floors, mold everywhere, stained sheets. Their hidden amenities were shit, parking structure was held for companies free in the back, but we were made to pay, not included in the price when booked. Incompetent manager in the front, not professional and couldn't control his emotions when I spoke to him about the parking hang tag not working. And I had to pay another $255 to get out. This was my girlfriend and I's first time in Hawaii, this hotel "hospitality" experience ruined our entire trip.

Parking here sucks, I wasn't able to get the help I need. I called the phone number 808-202-7586 regarding some issues I had with parking and there was no answer. I called them 20 times today and the automated message stated they are open from Monday -friday from 8AM-4PM. I've also sent an email two business days ago, I didn't get a reply back. The parking system is poorly made and I feel like ive been scammed. Will definitely file consumer affairs.

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. First I will mention I have a travel club. They have been working with me since this started to help aide in at least getting a partial refund. After more than 50 days later it was denied. The reason the hotel denied it was because they are adhering to their ZERO refund policy. Why did I ask for a refund..... see the bullets below cockroachesbetween the 2 rooms we had( we moved on the second day due to roaches) our room was cleaned 1x in 10 days we were there construction that took place m-f that started as early as 745am out of all the amenities we only had access to the pool which was COLD) Lack of notification of any of the abovethe money we are out for having to throw most items taken on vacation with us due to the bug problem 750 in exterminator fees this far to ensure what we did keep from our vacation did not infest our bug free home no running water between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Again no up front notification. Now I will state they did , prior to us departing return the 300$ resort fee. Which was understandable considering we couldn't use the sauna, the grilling area, the hot tub, the picnic area all because it was under construction. It's ridiculous that even after showing them videos, and pictures they refused to even refund half of what we paid considering I'm out over 1k in clothes and shoes along with toiletries and gifts because of having to throw things away. The room we had was a kitchenette. Yet no dish washing supplies were available, no broom, no mop, no cleaning supplies. We were forced to have to go buy these things upon coming to that realization. Stay far away from this place. It's not even worth it even if it were free to stay. This building has full time residents along with air bnb and hotel guests so unless you actually read the notices posted on certain floors you wouldn't have known that they were even aware of any of these issues. They don't tell you on their website nor inform you upon check in.

Not much good to say about this place. The hallways smell like sh*t. So bad you can hardly breathe walking to your room. Ever heard of air freshener? Or maybe don't put the trash shoot right next to rooms if you don't have a strategy to mitigate the aromas? I've smelled porta potties less potent than the hallways here.If you can make it to the room without throwing up your breakfast, the rooms are a bit dirty too. Dirt and dust everywhere, nothing too serious. They try to nickel and dime you all along the way too with a surprise amenities fee when you check in. This was a waste since after smelling the hallways i had no interest in finding out what specimen may be living in the pool.Overall this place is:1. Stinky - not for those with weak stomachs2. Over priced
