Anthony Calleja Photography

We just received our edited family photos and I am so very pleased with the quick turnaround and quality work by Anthony Calleja! We had a large group (15 people) which is never easy to photograph, but Anthony was on time, fun to work with and flexible. He was easy to communicate with during the planning process and afterwards regarding our order. The price was also very reasonable. Thanks to Anthony, we have priceless memories from our family trip that we will treasure forever! If you're looking for a photographer on Oahu, don't hesitate to book Anthony Calleja Photography!!

Ladies beware!Anthony Calleja Photography style or camera angle is he likes to shoot his subjects looking up; instead of from above or eye level. He says, he shoots low because it helps lower the horizon. However, this creates everyone else to look larger, more dominating with a double chin enhanced and everything else bulkier. "Flattering camera angles 101: the lower you go with your camera angle, the less flattering the photo. Positioning your camera slightly higher than the eyes produce a more flattering and slimming image. The neck recedes and jaw looks more defined." I dared to post a comparison "Anthony vs Selfie" with his low angle shot and my higher angle shot, taken within 15-min of each other. Sadly, we hardly received any photos at eye level or at a higher angle.Overall, I was unhappy with most of the photos. The one picture I did like was taken at a 45-degree angle for some weird reason. I liked how we all turned out; but did not like being at an angle. Our heads are facing the left-hand corner and our feet at the right-hand corner. It does not look good printed on the wall; since you must tilt your head to the left to look at it straight. It was not a slight tilt and feels way off balanced. And no, he was unable to edit and fix it; so, he said.During the photo shoot, I mentioned to him that I have a better side and he continued placing me on the opposite side. I figured, he's the professional and he knows better. I was wrong, and now have the unflattering proofs.Appx. ¼ of the photos had someone's eyes shut with the bright morning sun in everyone's faces.My kids hated him touching their hair; yet he didn't mention my blouse mishap.He was rude to other people in the vicinity. When one Mom asked if he could at least stand; so that her children didn't have to climb or trip over his legs; he ignored her request.Personally, I found him condescending. He said, "I'll explain to your husband what happens next." Seriously, did he just say that to me? My husband does not bother with photos and I do all the coordinating.I did not complain at all while at this session. I paid $300 for photos I do not like and REGRET that I was not forthcoming in what I wanted. I have not written a review like this on a person in decades; but there you have it. Go with someone else; I do NOT recommend him!

Amazing photos and such a fun experience! Tony was able to squeeze us in for a last minute babymoon photo shoot. We got great photos and had a blast with him. Highly recommend!

Anthony was punctual and soo patient with my uncooperative kids. teenagers! he got us at so many different spots in our location and i LOVE LOVE LOVE how our family photos turn out. the best memories for our first big family trip!

Anthony was exceptional!! The entire experience was nothing short of amazing! He was very patient and great with us, especially the kids! He was there waiting when we arrived and he was ready to go. He has it down and got so many amazing photos in a short amount of time! He thought of every different combo of photos from us as a couple to the kids with us and them together an seperate, etc. Never have had such an efficient photographer!! Highly recommended!! He also shared some great advice about what to do and places to eat on the island. This was awesome and definitely added to our experience on Oahu. Don't think twice, Anthony is your guy!!

Anthony was amazing. We had a family of 10 with different combinations of people we wanted photos of. He worked hard positioning people and fixing minor details like hair and flipped up collars all to ensure we got the perfect pictures. Anthony showed me the pictures throughout our session asking if there was any I wanted to redo or if there was anything else I wanted done, I've never had a photographer make so much of an effort to make me happy with what I was purchasing. I would recommend Anthony to anyone visiting Oahu.

I booked a session with Anthony while my whole family was in Hawaii (6 adults and 3 kids) and he was incredibly patient and helpful in getting amazing photos. He gave great direction that made our pictures even better than expected. Pictures early in the morning with 2 kids under 2 was rough, but he made it easy. Would absolutely recommend using Anthony for unforgettable pics of your family.

Anthony did an amazing job capturing our family photos! He provided great locations to choose from and the best time of day to do our photoshoot. He was quick to respond to any questions we had via email. He was wonderful working with our kids as well. Anthony provided helpful tips to help prepare for our photoshoot (e.g., clothing colors that go well together, hair brush for windy location, etc.). I would definitely recommend Anthony as your photographer.
