We've stayed here a couple times and overall satisfied with our stay. The first trip they had an amazing happy hour deal with food, oysters and cocktails at the Swell Bar Pool - which is a block off the beach but you can see the sunset and is an infinity pool with a hot tub and beach chairs. The second visit they had greatly reduced the happy hour options, but we still enjoyed entertainment and music in the pool area, as well as hotel activities - lei making, Hula lessons, fish feeding. Make sure you sign up for the popular ones (lei making) in advance to get a spot. The hotel has a nice lobby, great sun deck, tennis court/basketball, gym, and ABC store and a few restaurants and stores connected to the lobby. Central location and a block off the beach. Rooms are decent, a bit smaller and dated than the lobby would appear, but we had a nice view of Diamond Peak. Our air conditioning kept going out but they sent several folks out to fix, and also credited us for a couple nights and food and sent folks to fix it, which was appreciated. Would recommend for the overall vibe, location and amenities.

Food: NAService: 4/5Ambiance: 5/5Parking: 3/5Family friendly: 5/5Stroller friendly: 5/5ADA accessible: 4/5Personally when I go on vacation I typically don't stay at hotels or resorts. I'm a guy that wants a kitchen, so I cook or BBQ, not have to drive to a busy downtown, valet Park, pretty much the bare bones basics. Alohilani Resort might have changed that. This resort has pretty much everything that I need (and that's not much) while I'm vacation. There is a huge gym with a squat rack and actual bars and weights. A treadmill, bike and elliptical with a couple of dumbbells doesn't constitute it being a gym. So hard off to whoever came up with that. Second, service is pretty phenomenal (again we are low key vacationrs and don't require much). There is a perk for not using housekeeping, which we utilized because we don't feel the need to use up extra resources for that when it's not needed. Front desk agents are super helpful and everyone we interacted with was very friendly. Third, this is a family friendly establishment! There are so many family (kids) place! There are plenty of things to do like, story time, crafts (making lei's), yoga, a lounge love music DJ on Fri and Sat nights. If the kids are bored there is also Kuhio Beach right across the street! ( Tip: not as busy as Waikiki Beach!)The biggest downside for me is the nightly parking: $48 A NIGHT! Also, another downside, we had a room overlooking Morimotos restaurant. Pretty much can hear every conversation being had. Due to being on the corner you can also hear every car and motorcycle that decides to rev down the street. Maybe these particular rooms should be soundproofed. Highly recommend if you're in Honolulu.

Reservation: "an arrangement to have something (such as a hotel room) held for one's use. A promise, guarantee, or record of such engagement." (Merriam-Webster)You have an idea where this is going don't you? Hold onto that definition and let's start with an introduction to a resort in Waikīkī, Island of O'ahu. This is an updated review, my original review was posted exactly 12 months ago. For a stay in Dec 2022.I was destined to return to this resort property in hopes of enjoying the pool deck. A storm system in Dec 2022 clouded my ability to experience this highly-rated amenity. My closing quote in my review back then, "I will return....." This was my first trip back to O'ahu since 2022 due to vacations in Anaheim. Excited, I booked directly via the hotel website for four nights. Check-in date, January 26 2025. 'Alohilani Resort Waikīkï Beach. The essence of warm, modern interior design. Beautiful aesthetic space, extremely inviting. Elements of comfort and coziness, highlighted by plush textures and earthy tones. Sophisticated, chic but without the stuffiness. Extended in all areas of this resort. You'll find this design displayed throughout. The accommodations are comfortable and pleasing to the senses, with a warm intimate feel. Desirable. There are two areas of this resort that beckons me everytime.Oceanarium. This large-scale aquarium is a site to enjoy. As a kid, I remember many times, standing and viewing in awe as fishes and sharks would swim gracefully in this giant cylindrical tank. No sharks now, my favorite to seek? The cute balloon fish!On deck 5, have you ever seen anything more sexy, desirable and attractive? Lol, I'm talking about the SWELL - Pool Deck + Restaurant & Bar. Integrated lounge seating. Surrounding areas, sophisticated and stylish. Warm wood tones with plush white. Minimalist design, a neutral color palette with modern accents. The resort location is desirable. Safe, secure, well within walking distance into Waikīkī. Fronting the famed Kalākaua Avenue and Waikīkī Beach. Parking is ample and convenient. Kama'aina, this is the resort for you. Highly recommended. The wide range of kama'aina (local resident) benefits offered here at 'Alohilani Resort, are more generous than most hotels/resorts in Hawai'i. Special nightly room rates. Complimentary early check-in + late check-out, based on availability. Self parking included, savings $50/day. Resort Fee 50% off, $27 vs $54. Beach rentals + 500 HawaiianMiles per night. Book direct on their website. Confirm a reservation: "if you confirm a reservation, you inform someone who has booked a room at a hotel that the reservation is definite." (Collins Dictionary)Here where my stay had an unfortunate turn of events. A specific room was booked directly through the hotel, since a Roll-In Shower was needed for safety reasons. The person I was escorting on this trip had two scheduled procedures at Queens Hospital. Although it was a nice gesture to upgrade my room from Partial Ocean to OceanFront, the inconvenience of moving rooms and having to return back to do so was not satisfactory. "Your Reservation Confirmation at 'Alohilani Resort." (Email heading sent to my email address)Upon check-out on the 30th of January, I confirmed my future reservation with a Front Desk agent. I was informed that ADA compliant rooms are based on availability upon arrival. "A valid credit card is required to guarantee and secure your online reservations." ('Alohilani Resort Waikīkī Beach Resort Policies)Did I miss something? Or am I not fully understanding the definition of reservation? The word secure or guarantee? This policy is not stated on my reservation, in the resort terms + policies and, on the ADA Rooms page on the resort website. I'm confused. Sobbing. Storytelling, gathering memories from my experience and reframing a situation into a positive light. It's all a choice, always. This is my narrative, repackaging negative ones and neutralizing past unhappiness. Why? Because I have come to love this place, enough for a return stay on my next trip to O'ahu this year. Enough "high points" or positive ones that rise above a minor mishap. One of the "high points" during my 4-nite stay, my interaction with the team of 'Alohilani Resort employees. To name a few: Yen & Ali'i at check-in on 1/26/25 @ 11:30am. Front desk agents Renee + Alex. Beau & Aoi, Bell Services. Brianna from SWELL. And to my Room Attendants for your smiles + keeping my accommodations clean and ccomfy. I would also like to acknowledge many who were present front-and center + behind the scenes that were not mentioned. Thank you. This made it all worthwhile, for a decision to return to a resort property where I feel like I'm "family". My future stay this year was already booked before I checked-out on January 30, 2025. I hope to see you soon 'Alohilani Resort Waikīkī Beach. Until we meet again..."a hui hou". Generously rated 4 stars.

Such a cute hotel. We came for a business party and stayed here. They have the IV business so you can get you hangover cure or collagen or vitamins on. I love love love that. I had to knock 2 stars because they are not wheelchair accessible! That is very important to me because my son has special needs and needs to be in his wheelchair/stroller. We were not able to eat that the restaurant downstairs because there's no ramp to go. Going to the pool as well, we had to carry his stroller up the stairs because there's no ramp or anything. That's such an inconvenience for us.Overall though it was a nice hotel for a staycation, there's a ABC store around the corner and McDonald's across the street and a couple of great restaurants to eat at in the area. It's also right across Waikiki beach. So location was perfect. The front desk was also amazing! Nice people!Thank you for a great comfortable stay here! Just please work on wheelchair accessible ramps so we can really love it.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, and it was nothing short of fantastic! The hotel's location is unbeatable, situated right across the street from the beach. As soon as you step out, you're immersed in the vibrant energy of Waikiki, with the iconic 1.4-mile boardwalk waiting to be explored. Shops, restaurants, and entertainment options are just steps away, making it the perfect spot for anyone looking to soak up the local culture. One of the highlights of my stay was dining at Morimoto's, the renowned Japanese fusion restaurant by Iron Chef Morimoto. The culinary experience was exquisite, showcasing the best of Japanese flavors with a modern twist. However, it's worth noting that the atmosphere can get a bit lively, especially at night. With a club on the lower floors that plays music until about 2 AM and the Marriott's nightly Luau across the street, the energy is palpable. If you're looking for a quieter experience, you might want to consider this.On the wellness front, the resort offers an impressive array of amenities, including water exercise classes in the stunning infinity pool and attentive table-side service for food and drinks. It's a great destination for fitness enthusiasts as well.Overall, Alohilani Resort is a vibrant and luxurious destination that attracts travelers from all over the globe. Whether you're looking to relax on the beach or dive into the lively local scene, this resort has something for everyone!

Honestly this hotel charges more than you need to be charged. Yes, it's right across from the beach, and it is a great location, however their service needs to be better. We had a man at the pool literally ask us what room we were staying in when asking for pool towels, then he didn't believe we were staying there nearly from looking at us, he dialed the room number as though we were lying. It was discriminatory and disrespectful. Looking at the place from the lobby it was beautiful, rooms are pretty small and get soooooo humid and wet inside the rooms. I may have given it a 3 stars but the service was terrible. The front desk also gave us wrong information that caused us to be late to one of our appointments. It wasn't the best experience.

First time staying at Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach. If it's your first time in Oahu Hawaii and you want to have the beach near by this is a right choice for you. Pros: Beach right across the street & can rent a blue umbrella, 2 chairs and a small table. ABC store is right down stairs perfect for snacks and drinks. To take to pool or beach. Kai Coffee shop right outside, excellent coffee!!! Also, if you like Ramen there is a restaurant downstairs that is fantastic. The pool area is really cool, it's an infinity pool, and at night they have live music and a projector screen showing the beach on the building. Super cool feature during night swimming. Con: if you're looking for "family friendly" this isn't a family/ kid friendly hotel, pool is very adult like and drinks are very high end and do not taste good. Prices for pool food is through the roof. Be prepared to drop $$$. Hotel was very clean, up to date, and comfortable. We did pay for Ocean View room and view was beautiful. I'm not sure about the other rooms that are not ocean view. Overall had a pleasant stay, next time I would like to stay right on the beach at the Royal Hawaiian. Experience was beautiful, and the location was great easy to walk to everything. Also, the hotel did send me champagne and cookies for my birthday was super cute and thoughtful. Thank you Alohilani!

What an AWESOME hotel! We highly enjoyed our stay here at the 'Alohilani. We stayed here due to a company/work trip and they picked a fabulous, hip and trendy place for us all to stay and very conveniently centered on Waikiki beach. I was staying in the seashore tower - level 34. What a view we had of diamond head and the beach. The room had 2 queens and a lovely balcony. Great shower pressure too! The staff including the bell services team, Dylan at the front desk and the impressive job by the daily room cleaning crew. I'm so used to not having a daily cleaning crew due to Covid reasons that daily service was such an unexpected treat! They have lots of nooks and crannies in this hotel. Lots of restaurants on site...breakfast buffet was plentiful but the most eclectic food choices I've ever seen. The restaurants - Morimoto Asia Waikiki and Momosan Ramen Waikiki....were sooooooo good. Love the ambience, service and especially the food. I also adored hitting up bell services for beach towels and heading up to the beach which is literally 20 steps from the front of the hotel (okay you have to cross through street but then you're there at this amazing beach). The water is PERFECTION! The pool area is great and they have specific towels up there for that area...and a great little bar though options on beverages add severely limited. I'd highly stay here again. It's centrally located and our floor and room were quiet and what we needed when we wanted to just chill in the room. Yay Alohilani!

A great option for a stay in Waikiki. The pool is small and in the shade most of the day, but it's right across the street from the beach and close to downtown and all the shopping areas. I enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. The rooms are nice and the lobby area is beautiful. Parking is $40/nightYour resort fee includes free beach rentals ant Beach Candy Waikiki (umbrella, chairs, longboard, etc). We were *not told that at check in and unfortunately found out too late. Would have been nice to know.

Honestly really enjoyed my time at alohilani. Located in downtown Waikiki right in front of the beach. Staff were amazing and made us feel so welcomed. I also loved all their free activities and amenities. Definitely worth every penny!
