A definite highlight of my trip, this is a great place for Hawaiian soul food! By far, this is the best Hawaiian cuisine I have ever had. I cannot fault anything here - the food, the friendly service, the atmosphere is too notch! We began with a drink and an appetizer. The virgin piña colada was perfectly sweet and fruity, and my daughter drank it all within 25 seconds, and promptly asked for another. (Sorry, girl, but next time savor it!). The next item I had to try as it was so unusual - a spicy pickled pineapple! The pineapple was naturally sweet, but had a nice chili kick that brought out the sweetness even more! It steadily grew on me the more I ate it!Our main meals co sister of Garlic Shrimp, Chicken Karaage and a Vegan Loco Moco. First, the Garlic Shrimp was crispy, but so crispy that the shell was edible, but not so crispy as to dry out the shrimp! Beautifully executed and soooo tasty! Secondly, this was the best chicken Karaage I have had outside of Japan, and that is saying something. Again, crispy on the outside, soooo tender and juicy on the inside - outstanding! Now, this last item I must rave about, as it is an oxymoron - a vegan loco moco. Before you can state that this well may be a salad, this was the closest thing to real meat and egg. The others I. My party had a blind taste test, and all exclaimed that it was fabulous. When I told them that it was totally vegan, the astonishment on their faces told it all - THIS DOES NOT TASTE VEGAN!! Why did I order it? I was looking to get some plant protein in my diet, as all of the other meals I have had on this trip was decidedly meat-heavy. And boy, if all vegan food were this good, I would not be adverse to changing my diet! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

This place look better via pictures and you tube videos. They said that 70% of their clients are Japanese because it is owned by a Japanese company. The service is good and the food came out quickly. The server was very nice. The food:The Kalua nachos were ok. Not enough meat or salsa. My chips were kind of on the stale side but it is Hawaii and the humidity. A good amount of guacamole and sour cream. They had bell peppers, olives and cilantro. It a good portion but I only ate about half since I need something on my chips. They had bbq sauce on it and a little cheese sauce (a little). The Kobe loco moco was yummy but the egg was not running so it was a little disappointed. I posed the question at dinner. How can you tell if it was Kobe or regular hamburger? Would I come back? Maybe not... They offer Kama'aina discount if you show your id and have validated parking 4 hours at the Centrix.

Apparently there are a number of happy hour options in Waikiki. Not having done our homework we wandered around checking out various places but ran out of time. Then I remembered having read YE reviews about Aloha Table so ended up there. Unfortunately we were too late for the happy hour which ends at 6:00. Next time! It's located behind the Waikiki Shopping Plaza parking above the Mamo dessert shop. You enter by walking upstairs where you can choose either indoor or outdoor patio seating. We decided on the Loco which was marked with the recommended Shaka sign. Our server said it was their best seller along with the poke sampler and garlic shrimp. It came with 2 beef patties and two perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs and gravy. I forgot to ask what "Kobe Style" beef meant. We also shared a garlic fries (instead of a salad) which was full of fried garlicky goodness. To help it all go down I had a pineapple beer which was pineapple juice and beer. Pretty good! I thought would be half healthier than a full beer. Lol. New Year's Resolutions can wait for another week! Oh it's Chinese New Year! So next month...

Worth the trek into the heart of Waikiki. An oasis of Japanese-interpreted local dishes. For locals, it's an A+ spin on local favorites we're used to from our neighborhood diner. Aloha Table is the place where Japan meets Hawaii, and they've mastered the art of blending flavors from both cultures in a way that'll have you thinking, "Why didn't I come here sooner?" If you're the type who's always torn between a plate lunch and a sushi roll, Aloha Table delivers the perfect marriage of local Hawaiian comfort and Japanese finesse. The Food:Aloha Table is where Hawaii-inspired Japanese meets Japan-inspired Hawaii. Their menu is a delightful fusion of local flavors with a Japanese twist. Cobb salad - totally would get this again. The half-sized was a generous portion, and thankfully not what I'd get at a cafe in Japan. I'd starve on their super sized versions. Fries - hit the spot. These reminded me of izakaya-style fries. Service:The staff here bring the world-class Japanese hospitality with a laid-back local vibe - they're attentive without being overbearing. They're knowledgeable about the menu and always ready to make recommendations, especially if you can't decide between the loco moco and the tonkatsu. It's like they've mastered the art of giving you a warm aloha welcome, but also making sure you get what you came for, no confusion like finding your way to the ticketing gate for the Thunderbird to Osaka at Kyōto Station .Ambiance:Aloha Table strikes that perfect balance of Hawaii-casual and Japanese-chic. The decor is clean, modern, and cozy, with just the right mix of island vibes and minimalist elegance. Whether you're sitting at the bar enjoying a cold beer or lounging at a table, you'll feel like you've stepped into a tropical oasis with a hint of Tokyo.Parking:Ah, parking. Like trying to find a sushi restaurant in Kailua, it can be a bit of a shibuya shuffle here. The lot isn't huge, and during peak hours, you might have to take a short walk. But once you score that spot, you'll be too busy enjoying your meal to care.Unique Features:What sets Aloha Table apart is their knack for blending flavors without blending the cultures. They've got the kind of fusion dishes that make you realize you don't need to choose between Japan and Hawaii--they're one and the same here. Plus, they serve up generous portions, which feels like a nod to the local aloha spirit. The Saimin ramen is a must-try--like Japanese comfort food meets Hawaii's favorite soup. And let's not forget their house-made sauces that are so good, you'll want to smuggle them home like rare Japanese spices. The Competition:There are several restaurants operated by the same Japanese group in Waikiki, which I'm curious to try out. Although Stix is just around the block, I'd rather come to Aloha Table for the fries and salads, then perhaps head over for dessert later. Final Thoughts:Aloha Table delivers a perfect blend of Hawaiian hospitality and Japanese precision. Whether you're a Hawaii local who wants a taste of Japan or a Japanophile dreaming of the islands, this spot will have you saying "Aloha" and "Arigato" in one bite.Would I come back? Oh, absolutely!**Special shoutout to fellow YES member Shari T. for introducing me to Aloha Table and its staff!

Our server was really nice, and offered a lot of recommendations. In the end, most of us elected to get the loco moco, with a poke sampler. The loco moco was cooked perfectly, and tasted amazing! What was unfortunate, however was the portion sizing of the poke sampler. There were three kinds of poke, but for the price of about $28, there were only a few pieces of fish in each small bowl.Overall, the restaurant seems a little pricey for what it offers.

Cute place with laid back vibes. Great service and great food. I had the garlic shrimp and boyfriend had the loco moco. The loco moco was so tasty I kept bumming off my boyfriend's plate! Garlic shrimp plate was delicious. I also had the garlic fries, which were super crispy and loaded with fried garlic. Yum!

Haven't heard of Aloha Table before until it was recommended - our party of 7 did not have reservations as we decided to go on a whim on a Friday evening. Thankfully, the hostess advised there was a table but we would have to be done eating within an hour as the table was reserved shortly. We sat down and quickly ordered - food came out relatively quick. Between 4 adults and 3 kids we shared a few regular dishes and opted for some happy hour appetizers. Original Spinach Salad ($9 HH): Bed of spinach topped with crispy bacon, fried garlic, poached egg, and a vinaigrette. Quite simple but this was very much so needed on vacation! Garlic bits were fried in whole slices and so ono for those a fan of garlic. If you're not a fan... at least it's easy to see and pick out since they're larger pieces! Kalua Pork with Cabbage ($9 HH): Smoked kalua pork with a bit of bbq sauce. Very tender and juicy bits of pork.Mochiko Fried Chicken ($13 HH): Deep fried pieces of chicken in mochiko flour instead of the standard AP flour. I *believe* mochiko flour has a slight hint of sweetness but it's not tasted in the batter. Light and airy texture with juicy chicken. +$2 for dipping sauce.Kalua Pork Nachos ($15): Chips topped with shredded kalua pork, bell pepper, olives, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, bbq sauce, and a few sprigs of cilantro. King Size Loco Loco ($33): Heaping scoop of rice topped with 4 kobe-style beef patties and two sunny side eggs on a mushroom+onion demi glaze sauce. The perfect amount of loco moco to share between our party. The beef patties we maybe a little larger than slider sizes, not too big but it was just enough since we shared family style. Didn't have any expectations coming in since I hadn't heard of Aloha Table but was thoroughly surprised with the food. Located upstairs - we didn't see elevators (and didn't ask), so we did need to take the kids out of the stroller and carry it up.

Four of us had lunch here on a Friday. It was pretty busy and we didn't have a reservation, but the hostess got a table for us within about 10 minutes. The place was small, but charming inside - very much the "local" vibes. Menu was fairly simple - three of us had the loco moco. We also shared some fries. Food was prepared quickly and was excellent. Burger patties and fried egg on top were cooked perfectly and the gravy was delicious. The fries were also very good. Service was prompt and warm. Overall, it was a great lunch and we left thinking we would love to come back and try more of their dishes.
