Awesome service. I called, they picked up the phone and gave me every bit of info I wantedand I booked the dive right over the phone. The Sea Tiger Wreck was one of the better wreck dives I've done. Very professional, and friendly staff with a nice boat. Gear rental was quick and affordable in addition to being good quality. I saw so many turtles that I lost count!

I live here in Hawaii, and it was my first time diving with them. It was also my 100th dive. All the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. I loved so much captain Derrick, DM Sam and Joey . I love the ocean so much and would like to dive with people who care about and love the ocean. I feel so lucky that I found them! I am going to join their membership and dive with them every weekend!

Had an absolutely incredible dive! Me and my dad just did the general 2 tank reef dive and we saw so much! Tons of fish, sea turtles, a couple of eels... and our guide even found a couple of octopuses. It was a short 10-15 min ride out to the reef before we got ready to dive. The crew were fantastic! During our descent, my mask kept leaking in water and I had forgotten how to clear out my mask (it had been about half a year since my last dive). Our guide, Swayze, was able to helpfully remind me how to clear out my goggles while underwater and I continued the descent without issue! Derek and Swayze were an awesome crew to dive with! I would hands down do this dive again! (this dive was really close to Waikiki beach btw)

Great dive operation. From Kevin racing down to the boat from the store with the right forms to Erin taking care of our changes in advance and then leading the experienced divers to Michael recertifying one of our group and Captain Rick regaling us with stories and ably navigating the boat, our dive trip was great. A dive operation is all about its people and Aloha has great people! (I have 85 dives logged on 3 continents so this is a qualified opinion). I was especially impressed with how they didn't cut corners on documentation or reactivating but instead went the extra yard to make sure that we had the right paperwork and that the one on one instruction was thorough and complete. I highly recommend them for recerts/certification or just a nice dive trip out of Honolulu/Waikiki. Thanks to the whole Aloha team for providing such a great dive trip.

The boat was great and the captain was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our divemaster never asked us to have a buddy, which was a bit concerning. The dive sites are amazing, although the divemaster was not great at pointing out any wildlife in the area. Also we had a boat with two groups but only one divemaster so we had a lot of down time at the boat. Overall it was a good trip, but i wouldn't recommend it for beginners.

I have dived with several companies on island and am so glad I found Aloha Scuba Diving Company. Their attention to detail and safety is second to none, and their down to earth attitudes in a tourist rich environment is a breath of fresh air. The Dive Guides Sal, Derrick, and Libby were excellent...and I cannot give enough praise to Captain Savannah. I absolutely love diving with them...so what are you waiting for...get wet with Aloha Scuba Diving Company...you can thank me later. Mahalo

I'll start by saying that if it wasn't for the guy in charge of the dive, I would be rating this 10 stars out of 5. Everyone else I dealt with was professional, knowledgable, and kind. But the fish rots at the head, as they say, and this fish head's name (I believe), is Saul Flores. Dreadful. We all met at the Starbucks in the Ala Moana Hotel for orientation for the Open Water Certification course. And it immediately got off to a bad start. He laid the review test and pencil in front of each of us. My (18 yr old) son and I turned it over and started reading the first question. 'Do NOT touch the paper until I tell you to.' So we immediately replaced it on the table. He slowly walks over, looks down at us. 'Are we going to have a problem here?' So odd. Such attitude. I would have asked why the attitude, especially when we both did exactly what he asked. But my son is mortified if I engage in any public confrontation, so I clam up. He then says that 'we're going to do things a little differently this time.' He then proceeds to read each question AND the answers. I knew these answers because I completed the eLearning course, and felt cheated of the accomplishment. But during the eLearning course, I was under a time crunch and forewent the optional section. Saul Flores then tells us that it was a mistake, and it was not optional and hands out the charts to calculate estimated nitrogen levels/depth/time between dives. No worries, because he pretty much gives us the answer to these as well. Cut to: out in the water at Magic Island Lagoon for the 'contained' portion of the training. Here they split our group and I luck-out getting placed with Michael Swayze. Even in this shallow water (approx 6 ft), I had a moment of claustrophobia wearing wet suit, mask, and regulator. This coupled with a moment of mild panic, as I just couldn't seem to regulate my intake and expulsion of air through the regulator. Swayze allowed me to surface, regroup, and try again. All good. A lunch break, then the first section of the open water in the afternoon. Out on the boat. Cool breeze. Scorching sun. Beautiful view. Holding mask and regulator firmly to face, we take turns stepping from port side and plunging into the water. I surface, signal 'OK,' grasp the mooring line, and realise that there's a sizeable lump of panic quickly rising in my throat. Mask half full and foggy, regulator doesn't want to stay firmly in mouth. I instinctively try to inhale through my nose. Bad idea. The plastic of the mask sucks into my nostrils, adding to that closed-in feeling. Now in full panic, trying to suck air through the regulator, but no room in lungs for more. Now everyone's waiting for me, but I can't calm myself in time. Saul Flores says that they must go. I totally understand and am full of apologies. I watch them all disappear under the surface. Michael Swayze leads me to the stern where I grab a floating ladder on a hinge. He then submerges to join the diving party. This leaves me with Derek, the ship's captain as well as a professional diver himself. He kind of looks like a tough guy, but is one of the most kind, empathetic, caring people I've met. For the next 20 min I float there, holding the ladder and intermittently laying face down in the water getting used to the regulator as Derek 'talks me down.' He jokes, tells me anecdotes, comforts, and calms. By the time he's finished, I tell him that I don't want to leave Hawaii without finishing the program. He gets on the two-way radio and sets up a make-up session for me. I pay a bit extra, but I'm taking a bit extra. When the group returns, I ask Swayze if he can instruct me. He can. He leads me through my first open water dive immediately. He has the patience of a saint, waiting as I acclimate at every step. I stifle a mild panic, but all is smooth. The following day Swayze leads me gently through every exercise. This time the panic is replaced with focus. I'm almost enjoying it. I finish the remaining 3 dives with more relief than joy. I had no idea that this was going to bring me so close to terror and dread, but the satisfaction on the other side was well worth it. In fact, I plan on continuing back home near Malibu until I'm 'conversant' in the water. If not for Derek and Swayze, I wouldn't feel anything like this. It would have been all failure and shame, and an even greater fear of diving. I owe them for their humanity and forbearance. Good folk. As for Saul Flores, he wasn't the cause of my panic, but his attitude certainly didn't help. He set a tone of distrust from the start. How do I feel that from someone, and yet trust them with my life? Impossible. I'm not good around poseurs. They get on my 'life's too short' list very quickly. My son later told me that Saul pulled a small octopus from a rock crevice. That confirms everything I thought of him.

Our family had excellent experience with this dive company. My wife and children did their open water certification with Michael and Zoey. They were excellent instructors and we felt very safe. They started their first day training in a shallow lagoon instead of a pool, which was nice because it exposed them to the salt water instead of pool water. The second day we went on a dive boat together because I am already certified. We liked this team so much that my daughter and I decided to continue on with advanced open water certification. They provided all of the equipment that we would need.

My brothers and I took our dad to do the explorers dive trip and our experience was great! This was most of our first time diving. We had the privilege of having Erin as our dive instructor and she did an exceptional job at teaching us some basic skills and most importantly keeping us safe. I would highly recommend aloha scuba diving company to take care of all your scuba diving trip needs and make sure you ask for Erin.
