My 9 and 6 year old started just 5 months and they have already learned multiple songs, learned to compose music, and have a growing understanding, love and confidence with this instrument. As someone who learned the "traditional method" of piano (consisting of learning one difficult classical piece every 6 months to play at a recital) this new way of teaching piano is seriously exciting. It's a completely different philosophy and method of learning piano. I wish this had been around when I was a kid but I'm having fun re-learning with my kids!!Huei Chen is an amazing teacher -- really patient, positive and encouraging, and in tune with the kids. Our classes are in small groups (3 kids all the same age) which has been fun. Parents are expected to play a significant role during the lesson and ensuring practice happens during the week, but if you stick to it (which really isn't that time consuming) the results are just amazing and very quick.I very highly recommend huei Chen to anyone interested in learning piano!!

I can't believe how quickly my 6y/o son has grasped piano and is now playing songs. Mrs. Heui Chen is such an amazing mentor and is so patient and kind. She teaches in a way that children can stay engaged and can understand new concepts. My son tweaks his playing every time she has new advice and catches on quickly. We feel so blessed to have come across this opportunity. My son looks forward to go to practice. Very grateful

The Aloha Piano approach for a beginning piano student has been nothing short of amazing. The instructor, Huichen, emphasizes learning a particular piano skill through a combination of storytelling, art and a bit of improvisation. My son was so happy to learn pentatonic, chords, arpeggio and more using this approach. Later, set pieces are introduced that sound great and are within reach of the student. If there is anything confusing in the lesson, Huichen will quickly adjust her approach to make sure the concept is clear to the student. As a result, my son plays the piano with joy and confidence and willingly practices on his own.

My daughter thrived in this piano school. The approach was perfect for her. She built a relationship with music and the piano that I think will be lifelong.
