We have been to a luau before but this one was more cultural. We loved it! It provided more history and authenticity. This was a family-friendly event, and they provided activities before the eating and main event. There were stamp tattoos, pictures, showing the pig in the ground, weave headband making, bead making, and other activities available. The food was delicious too. A variety of meats, salad, potato, rice, veggies, and dessert. I picked it all and it was all very good! There were adult drinks and kid-friendly drinks as well. The main entertainment was beautifully done! There were different performances based on Polynesian culture, along with different storytelling and outfits. There was entertainment to get the guests involved, including teaching how to say certain words, a clapping game (almost like Simon says), and getting the guests involved to learn to dance! It was truly fun to do and a great way to learn about the culture and great experience when in Hawaii!

This was our first luau and we had a great time! We booked it with our Go City passes and received silver tier seating with 2 drink tickets each. It is located within Sea Life Park and upon entry, we were given a flower lei and a black beaded necklace. Prior to the start of the luau, we had access to the bar. There were lots of activities and games for all ages, such as making lei bracelets, learning to play the uke, and weaving a headband. As the buffet opened up, those with gold seating were first to eat. They didn't really announce when the next groups could start lining up so people lined up whenever they wanted. It was buffet style and there was plenty of food to go around, even for seconds. The show was excellent! The host did a great job storytelling and introducing the different Polynesian cultural performances. I really liked how the performers added a bit of humor to keep the guests entertained and engaged. There were many chances for guests to be involved and were also invited on the stage to participate. The fire dancing definitely stole the show and was the main highlight for us. We were so amazed and impressed at their skills. I was surprised to find out that one of them just recently graduated from high school too! Overall, I think a luau is definitely worth experiencing when in Hawaii.

This is a bit of a tough situation, because the actual luau was great, I will get to that in a minute. We were on a cruise, booked this day at the Sea Life Park and Luau just about a full year in advance. We had very limited time in Oahu, so time was of the essence. We booked the Sea Life Park and Luau package along with the transportation offered. We chose the early pick-up, 11:20 AM to spend the day at the Sea park, and the late afternoon/evening at the Luau. We also made a reservation for our friends to join in with the late pickup- 2:30. My husband and I arrive in plenty of time for our early pick up. We were unsure of the exact place so I called at 11:40 to ensure we were in the correct place. We were assured we were. I call at 11:45 to see if the transportation will be arriving soon, as it's about an hour drive to the park, and we were excited about Sea Life. The representative checks to see where the driver is while I'm waiting on the phone. She comes back several minutes later and says the driver by passed us, that he'll swing right back around and get us. If he's not there in 15 minutes to call her again. Fifteen minutes pass and no driver. I call again. He decided to pick up everyone else at a multitude of stops and went to the park. We waited hours for a pick up. We finally get picked up and proceed to many many other stops on the way to the park. We finally arrive, and I tell the representative we had waited several hours for a pick up, was eager to spend the day at the park prior to the luau. She says, oh, you didn't miss much. (WHAT?!!!) I was under the assumption from the park description that you easily could spend the day that there was water slides, beach area etc. (the package included 10 days access to the Sea Life Park) She refused to give us a partial refund for not picking us up at the agreed time, waiting for hours, AND saying we weren't missing much. We actually WERE missing much. If we had known we wouldn't arrive until just about Luau time, we could have spend the day doing other things in Oahu instead of sitting on a statue base half of the day. Sea life park is cute. VERY small, but clean and cute. We missed all of the shows, so we didn't even get to see those. Our friends arrived and we went on the the Luau. They had some fun activities, Lei making and headband weaving, and the show itself was wonderful. The dancers were amazing, personable and delighted all. The buffet was typical, they did not use the roasted pig they made a production of, but was entertaining. The food tasted ok, nothing to write home about but sufficed as the show was what is the main draw. It began to rain, they supplied plastic ponchos which was nice. All in all, the Luau dancing was great, the drive to the park was scenic, the sea life park cute, but not what was described, and the employees at the ticket windows were far less than hospitable. I'm sure there are many other luau's that give you more bang for your buck than this. We spent over $1,112.04 for 6 of us, including a military discount. It was OK, not spectacular. Would not recommend.

what an AMAZING luau! this was going to be our kids first luau so we wanted a real authentic feel to it. Aloha Kai provided just that, and more! located at Sea Life Park, this luau provides an amazing backdrop of both the blue ocean and the lush green mountainside. the luau is about a 30 mins drive from Waikiki. we were able to secure tickets in advance. the price is on par with most of the other luau options on Oahu, but, substantially less than the more "popular" ones, ie PCC and Paradise Cove. we picked the Bronze seating options, hoping that we got a decent view of the show. we were most definitely NOT let down. in fact, i RECOMMEND the Bronze seats for price point and quality of view. the Gold seats were good and the Silver seemed okay. my issue with those seats were they were crammed in the middle of the area. whereas, the Bronze seats were diagonal to the stage and had more open space between tables. and the view of the stage was not impacted at all. they offer some activities before the luau. the kids really enjoyed the bracelet lei making as well as the couple games they play to interreact with the spectators. my little one wasn't too thrilled at the Imu ceremony. :) the show was a good mix of tongue in cheek comedy and history lesson on the Polynesian islands. the cast did a great job of entertaining. the food was typical luau, kalua pork, rice, veggies, terriyaki chicken etc. you can fill up as much as you care to and it all tasted good. overall, a great experience and we highly recommend!

I came upon this place via a Google search for luaus. This is the one I chose as you were able to experience Sea Life Park AND see a luau.Sea Life Park's general admission starts at $59.99 if it's not on sale. Since I bought a bundle package, the fee was wrapped in the bundle so I'm not sure how much it was if you broke it down. With this said, $59.99 is way too much, in my opinion, for this little park. While I appreciated seeing the beautiful sea life and mammals, the enclosures are pretty small. You can go through all the exhibits in probably an hour or less, so unless you want to see the short shows (dolphin, seal, etc) then you will probably be bored quick.Kai Luau was a nice experience. You were treated to different stations that showcased different cultural activities of the islands, and this followed by a nice buffet and a show. The show was entertaining and a learning experience as they offered you a bit of history before each dance.

Recently visited Sea Life Park/ Aloha Kai Lua on Monday May 27th. One I was beyond stoked that they were open on a holiday. I purchased the silver package for the luau. We opted in to visit the Sea Life Park the same day and glad we did. It gave my family and I an activity to do prior to the luau. I would say 2-3 hours prior to closing is more than enough time to explore the park, see some sea animals, and wait for the luau to start. Now for the luau itself, it was very interactive with some cultural activities which my toddler loved. The bar line moves quickly which was a + considering the amount of people that were in attendance. There is more than enough food offered from their buffet selection. The performance was a 10/10!! It was very interactive that the whole hour flew by so fast. I would recommend this luau to my friends and family!

We purchased a 3 day go city pass & the 2 options we could choose between was the Aloha Kai Liau (Sea life park) & the Ka Moana Luau (Aloha Tower). Ended up choosing the Aloha Kai Luau because it was a better fit for our vacation plans (location wise).Everyone I know who has been to a luau has always said it's one of those things you go to once just to say you went, is really touristy, and expect mediocre/crappy food. So that's the mentality we came into the luau with haha. Highlights: the fun activities before the show (ukulele, braiding a headband, making a lei) funny one liners by all the performers throughout the show, a really sweet section where they highlighted love and had all the couples do a slow dance, and the fire dance was so dope! Also - the scenery was beautiful - you are facing the ocean & the sunset was amazing! With the go city pass you automatically get the silver package which comes with 2 drinks and a flower lei. But if I'm being really honest, you can probably just go with the bronze package because- even if you get a shell lei, you can make a flower lei once you get inside - it's only a 1 drink ticket difference which isn't a big deal if you don't drink in general- people were getting up and moving around for a better view when it came time for the show to start so it's not like you're glued to your seat. We came on a Sunday & the tables on the right side was pretty empty so a lot of people just moved over there. People with the gold ticket ate first but honestly after that it was a mish mosh so it didn't really matter. I did appreciate that they had lomi lomi salmon in the buffet - the food was actually better than I expected & the staff was constantly refilling (I guess that's what happens when you set expectations that the food is going to suck haha)On their website they have promotions (right now it's 20% off if you reserve 14 days in advance) & for that price it would be worth. Personally with the bronze package at $135 vs the silver at $175 vs the gold at $210 I don't think there was that big of a difference in experience. Of course higher tiers will go in first and get better seating for the show - but I guess it's up to you to decide if it's worth the extra $$ :).Really glad we got to go via the go city pass & am happy with the experience we got!

This was a fantastic luau! We have never been to one before and didn't know really what to expect and boy were we in for a treat! To start off we arrived around 3, watched some turtle feeding and then ended with a dolphin show. After that we went to the luau portion at around 5pm. There are so many activities to do before the show starts like making flower bracelets, learning to dance, tattooing and more! Everyone was so friendly and inviting. We then watched the ceremonial pig unveiling and it was time to eat. I am picky and enjoyed everything. The show itself was fantastic, very engaging, lots of jokes and a fun time. Would come back if we ever come back to the island.

My family's first ever luau and wow it really set the bar for us. Located at the beautiful Sea Life Park, this Luau is very family-friendly with lots of great activities and attractions for the young and young-at-heart. Upon entering, you're greeted with a lei or beaded necklace which sets the tone for the evening. While Sea Life Park is closed for operations, you get to pass by a few exhibits (like the sea turtle & some fishes) on the way to the Luau area. When you get to the field, there are tons of activies around the area like flower bracelet & headband making, poi dancing & ukelele tutorial, and even a temporary tattoo station next to the souvenir stall. The beautiful mountain range sits behind the field serving as a backdrop! The food was also exceptional. They had an imu ceremony and we found out that the roasted pig they blessed will be used for the next day's luau! True enough, we had some really tasty kalua pulled pork at the buffet line, so at least we know it's cooked fresh. Depending on your tickets, I believe you also get a certain number of drink tickets? We got silver tickets so we had 2 drink tix each. Also had a fantastic view of the stage set with a view of the ocean in the background.Really appreciated the actual show in the evening. The story line was easy to follow and not just a "showcase" - normally my son tends to get overstimulated with shows and loud sounds, but he was just as captivated as we were by all the excellent performers! All in all a fantastic experience and would def recommend to families looking to try a luau for the first time!
