I saw the homie Marcnado livestream from this spot, https://www.youtube.com/user/alohagotsoul. Since then I've always wanted to check it out.Parking:Street parking for the most part, free on Sundays!Vibes:It's in Downtown Honolulu area that's pretty close to the mall, eateries and other activities. The spot itself is pretty neat. Intimate space that's well intentionally designed to make space for all the records and for people to see the main things they need to see - records, merch, etc. I went here during their 3rd Sunday: Records Should be Played sessions and it was dope! Oliver was chill and welcoming and DJ Drew had a dope set. Good people and music, what more can you ask for!Overall:5 stars. Love it! The little studio that could. Dope spot with great selections of vinyls with a neat listening bar. For those into music and all that jazz, check this spot out. Props to Roger Bong and the rest of AGS for spreading the good vibes!TL;DR Tips:* Check out their website for any events!

Thanks to the visit of Michael Giacchino and the LOST 20th Anniversary Concert, I found out about this great store nearby. Vinyl records have had a resurgence in recent years and it was wonderful to discover a locally owned shop in Honolulu. This one is on King St right at the McCully intersection; it's mostly street parking. This building was changed a few years go to include a paper store, clothing boutique, and the record shop. Aloha Got Soul is the physical store for the blog and now record label of the same name. They specialize in both contemporary and older Hawaii-based music artists. You can check out their own records on the website. They also sell related merchandise. The reason I visited was to get the limited edition 45 vinyl of two LOST tracks pressed by AGS and signed by the composer. The event was super well organized with a ticket system through Eventbrite, easy lines, and friendly employees to move it along. The sale system was easy as well. I hope they do more events like this in the future, the small size of the shop made it feel more personal when meeting the artists involved. The record was $15, which I felt was reasonable for the small pressing. If you're a fan of music at all, this is worth your time to visit. Shop small, and support local artists.

WOW!!!! I just happened to drive by and noticed this shop, hiding in plain sight from the street. Once I entered, I was welcomed by the owner Oliver (friendly dude) and was amazed how "to the point" this store was. No clutter, no disorganization... just an inviting record shop!! The prices were very reasonable and comparable to what you would find on Discogs, but without the shipping costs. Since I was on a limited time frame, I quickly browsed through the selection and managed to find 2 LPs. I vowed to return to get a proper look-through very soon. Overall, if you are looking for a great place to look for great LPs, past and present, check out this shop!!! You will not be disappointed!!!

Such an amazing record shop! The aesthetics and simple set up makes it really easy to find what you are looking for. The staff is readily available and eager to help you find something new or old to add to your music collection. The merch art on the t-shirts and tote bags is creative and has that retro look. Even if you don't know anything about records, just come and browse the shirts, incense and other small goodies. If you are looking for a unique island gift for someone who is into music, come swing by. Anytime you can support a local business on the island makes a huge impact.

AGS (Aloha Got Soul) is a both a record label and record store. Completely independent and they have an impressive catalog of current and past musicians from the Hawaiian Islands. Roger, Oliver, and Max are always very friendly and share Aloha with all who visit their record store. Be sure to sign up for their email letter for weekly Spotify playlists, local events that they DJ at as well as information for in record store vinyl events. Have bought over a dozen albums from AGS releases and have been impressed with the music on all of them. All different genres and all great music. I wish them all the best success in future and hope they continue to grow. If you don't live on O'ahu, they can ship any album to you!A hidden gem in Mo'ili'ili and McCully area. Blink and you miss it. Parking along King Street.

Great selection and great prices! They always have a new selection and have a wider variety than most record stores I've been to. I would spend all of my money here if I could.

Hands down the best record shop out here. Had some crazy original presses at great prices. Had to cop another copy of Coltrane Love Supreme. Walked in and made me feel at home. Conversation with a fellow record head across the ocean! I may regret not getting the Lemuria they had on their wall. Big ups AGS from the homie from Tacoma. JasonH5 (Wax Cabinet).
