Each tattoo starts with a new stencil which sticks to the skin with adhesive. Glue is then applied and the glitter is painted on. After the stencil is peeled off (and discarded), the rhinestones are applied and set.We went to a party with Aloha Glitter Tattoos and the kids absolutely loved their tattoos! Some of them got one on each arm AND each leg!! The boys got dragons and UH warriors tattoos and the girls got all kinds of cute flowers and cupcakes with rhinestones! The tattoos are supposed to last 7 days but I'm sure my daughter will try to make it last 2 weeks. She loves tattoos. She loves glitter tattoos. I might have to book them for her next party. 2 body artists, 2 hours, $200.

I'm so glad I decided to book Aloha Glitter Tattoos for our party this weekend. The whole experience was wonderful.It was an incredibly easy booking process: e-mailed for a quote, put down a deposit and paid the remainder of our balance to the lead artist when she arrived. Marilyn was also very quick to e-mail back and was very pleasant to talk to on the phone when she called to confirm our reservation the week of the party. Our balloon artist and face painter were a huge hit at our party! They were very professional, but also very fun and great with the number of kids who had many requests :)Now that my daughter's party is over, all I can think of is: you're never too old to throw yourself a birthday party with a face painter and balloon artist right?! I need another excuse to book them.

Preparing for a first birthday party is never fun. You need to do things starting from when your child is born... Or so it seems like. I had to turn to yelp to find out what kind of fun things do people have at first birthdays. With stellar reviews, I decided to contact Aloha Glitter Tattoos. Marilyn was so helpful with the process of deciding the services and how many to order for the amount of people that we were having. I had estimated 350 people (230 probably showed up) so I made sure that I ordered enough so that there wouldn't be long lines. I wanted the typical stuff. Popcorn, cotton candy, and glitter tattoos. Then my husband wanted balloon animals. I kind of didn't want any from the previous not so great comment about the balloon animals but, what did it matter for an difference of $60 bucks to add on to the entire package for 4 hours? I reserved the services way in advanced and at times I forgot how much balance I had to pay because you don't get any paperwork on the services you order or total. They remember all of that. So, just make sure you write it down somewhere. If not, you can be like me and bug Marilyn all the time. She never seemed irritated with me.A couple days before the party, Carmella (I think if I remember right) contacted me to review the services for the party and reminded me of the amount of tables and chairs they needed. On the party day, Carmella introduced herself to me and my husband and they found the best place to set up. My husband had to break the news to me that the cotton candy machine was out of service, so they replaced that service with face painting and henna tattoo's. I know my dad really wanted cotton candy but... to my surprise... My dad got two face paintings (one side a butterfly and the other a centipede) and I swear neck paintings. LOL. At first nobody was really in the area and I thought it was because it was in a weird spot but, once my dad started and all the kids seen the work, they got in line too. It was sort of a blessing that the cotton candy machine was broken. I thought it was going to be weird to have face painting and henna tattoos. It totally wasn't. You need to get this. All the prices are totally reasonable. If you are looking for a kid friendly party, you need to hire these guys! Even when they left, Carmella and the gang (looked like young kids) came up and each said thank you to my husband and I. I thought that was very nice of them. Something you don't see often. So, even though they made simple balloons, the little kids get amazed by anything. And that was all that mattered to me. I really didn't see many balloon animals. I think I only seen a flower and some swords LOL but that was because the flower was in my car and kids were playing sword fight. I received a lot of compliments on the way our party was so kid friendly. Don't get me wrong though, the parents got some work done too!

I hired this company for my daughter's birthday party (glitter tattoos and balloon art)...the glitter tattoo artist took soooo long to do each person I felt like she was taking her time because it would mean less tattoos for the amount of time I hired them for. I have been to parties where friend's hired different companies and they were so much faster and turned out just as nice. Then the balloon artist was a complete joke!! He could only do simple things like flowers, a wrist turtle, swords...and he literally wrote down what he could make (about 4-5 different items). I was completely embarrassed and was not notified of this when I had hired them. Next, they don't have the friendliest employees. My daughter was in the Neiman Marcus fashion show a couple of weeks ago and they had this company do the glitter tattoos. The lady who was doing it was pretty rude and already sounded like she was going to stress out once the entire show was over. When Neiman Marcus hires entertainment following the show, they normally don't limit it to the participants but to other customer's as well. The lady doing the tattoos that day wanted to make sure everyone who was getting one had participated asking the children what number they were. I felt like she was very unprofessional.

Marilyn was so sweet and accommodating from the start. I booked Aloha Glitter Tattoos for my sons first birthday party on April 1st of this year. I had the glitter tattoos, face painting, bubbles and balloon twisting. The balloon artist and glitter tattoo artist was very young teens, so that took me by surprise but overall they were alright and Carmella did the face painting which was the actual hit of the party. They showed up 15 minutes late but they stayed later which made up for it. Overall During their time slot , I got nothing but great compliments from my guests and the kids enjoyed it! Glitter tattoos were a fabulous idea for my daughters first birthday! It was definitely a hit of the party. The kids loved it, so did the adults!I opted to do our own tattoos vs. having Aloha Glitter Tattoos crew trek it out to the country. It was super easy and fun and we didn't have to worry that the tattooing part of the party was going to be shut down after a few hours...Marilyn was so easy to work with from my initial phone call at least a month before my party to the text messages I sent her with questions up until the day I went to her home to pick up my tattoo kit and tattoos. Once we met in person, she said it felt like we knew each other already.Prices are very reasonable. Tons of tattoos to choose from ~ the kids loved the Aloha tattoo, dragons, Ninja turtles, Hello Kitty, The Hulk, UH logo...they were all a hit. I'm looking forward to buying more tattoos, heck I don't even need a party for glitter tattoos! Thanks Marilyn!

Elisa from aloha glitter tattoo's was at my neices one year birthday party. She had to look up the ravens online but did an outstanding job of it. 5 stars definitely.

I had my son's 1st birthday party with approximately 300 people. Marilyn and the aloha glitter gang was able to give out and make the popcorn and cotton candy for the kids and adults very quickly. Everybody LOVED everything, especially the cute tattoos. Marilyn and the girls were very nice, great customer service. Next birthday/party you will be having in the future, I highly recommend aloha glitter.

The highlight of this company is that the owner who booked the event and the staff who came to the party were nice and professional. Besides that, note that the company's website states that they "charge a travel fee of $25 for venues OUTSIDE of metro Honolulu." My event was in Downtown Honolulu and the owner said that I still needed to pay the $25 travel fee (just checked and the website hasn't changed). The owner also said a few days before the event to expect 3 staff; however, only 2 staff came to the party. I paid $393 for 2 hours of glitter tattoos and balloon art. The pictures on Yelp and their company website look great. However, the skill and experience of the 2 staff who came to my event were trainee/beginner level. A guest commented that the glitter tattoos took a while to apply, which may be harder for younger kids to sit through. The website photos also show several colors on many glitter tattoos, but the glitter tattoos made at my party were only one and sometimes two colors.The balloon art honestly looked like they were made by someone who just began doing it a few months ago. I think a more experienced staff person (the 3rd staff that was promised) should have came to event to give them tips and to provide more variety for party guests. Of course, guests didn't make any comments during the party, but when I asked a few closer friends after the party if they'd use this company at future events, they said no. They were actually surprised that I paid that much for what I got. If you don't mind paying around $400 for 2 hours of very simple temporary glitter tattoos and balloons, for an age 5 and under crowd (older kids wouldn't be impressed), then this company might be for you.
