Ever wanted to know what a distribution center looks like? Well, not much LOL. A bunch of boxes and stuff. An area to take orders with a lot of stuff! You go in, tell them what you want, pay and get out. Hey, it's a distribution center, not a store to walk around and check things out. You save about a dollar going here vs. buying in the wild!Worth checking out if you are around the Waipio Costco area.

SKITTLE BOMBS!!!And for your information, these are NOT the "edibles"some inquire. Edibles, the non-naughty kind of edible. Edible, without a high - only a sugar high. Get the point. I have quite a lot of local/native friends on the island. While I was recovering from my motorcycle accident my friend sent a care package of my favorite island candies AND a bag of Skittle Bombs. Wow! I tried to savor the bag for as long as I could but it didn't last long. Imagine an exploded looking skittle that's crunchy like corn nuts but tasted exactly like a skittle. Must I be laid up in the trauma unit hooked to tubes to get more care packages with skittle bombs?! I will now request this or seek this when I am on the island to bring back to the mainland.

On December 17th, I asked my hubby if we could stop by Aloha Edibles so I can restock on the doggie treats. This time, I purchased 2 bags each of the chicken gizzards, beef hearts, and beef liver for my three dogs. The last time I purchased dog treats, my little indoor dog Sadie managed to climb on a chair and onto the dining table, open the plain "unmarked" brown bag of dog treats (as if she could read), chew into a ziploc bag containing the remainder of an open bag of chicken gizzards! My hubby said that I have to make sure that all of the chairs are pushed against the dining table so Sadie cannot use them to climb onto the dining table. I responded that he should train HIS dog (have you ever say that? YOUR child, or YOUR grandchild?) to not go onto the table. Sadie hasn't done that before! Now, Sadie is on two legs, begging, whenever anyone approaches THE NEW brown paper bag.

The factory was hard to find. I don't drive to the west side of the island so this area was unfamiliar. The factory is at the corner of Uke'e St. and Moaniani St. near Kaiser Permanente. When you drive along Moaniani St. keep an eye out for the glass windows with the "334" numbers. You can park in the driveway if there's space or there's street parking. The door to go in is between the sink and the electric meters; you'll see an open sign. There's another door afterward that takes you into the office. The snacks are all on a small rack and if you don't see something, you can ask them for it. My favorite item is the beef jerky crisp. If you've never had any of their snacks before, I recommend getting 2 of everything. The furikake kettle chips are also popular. The snacks are pricey but it's all made and packed locally. They accept credit cards for payment.

Just tried their skittle bombs! Creative and fun concept -that's why I gave them 5 stars. I bought them for $7 from Carousel Candyland at Kahala mall. (Cheaper than Amazon.) There were two options, li hing and plain. The skittles are frozen with liquid nitrogen, and that makes them CRUNCHY! I wouldn't buy these regularly to snack on, but I had fun trying them with my sister and nieces. Definitely pick some up if you're in the area!

Over the weekend I attended the craft fair at NBC. OH MY GOODNESS.... The Cafeteria Shortbread Cookies blew me away. It reminded me of when i was in Elementary school eating this cookie. It was so buttery and oh so good. I should of bought more because one bag is almost gone. My parents bought to give away and now they are saying they didn't buy enough. We are hoping that at the other locations you will have the cookies as well.
