Can't offer any reasonable review due to it being closed with an uncertain reopening. I believe when it does open again, I would be the first in line to support it. It's a great idea.

I always loved watching movies. Sometimes in the movie, the scene takes place at a drive-in. Never did I ever dream I would go to a drive-in and watch a movie. When we heard our neighbors went to the Aloha Drive-In to watch a movie, we said we needed to do that! So glad we did! Customers can order from Raising Cane's. When Aloha Drive-In first started, customers can place their order online. The staff will bring the online orders to the car. However, when we arrived tonight, the movie crew did not hand out Raising Cane's order form. Instead the movie crew set up a small concession stand at the left of the screen. Customers can bring their own food and drinks if they like. I spoke to someone who helped to put the theater production together. He said that the company may get a bigger screen to show the movies. But that depends on the budget. Drive-Ins pave the way to bring people together. Families come to the drive-in to watch movies together. This provides a good way to have family time.

I have always wanted to go to a drive-in movie so when COVID hit and the nostalgia was brought back, I was stoked!! This one was by far my favorite of the ones that opened on Oahu. 1. You got to reserve your actual parking stall prior to the event. There were two different prices depending on where you parked: $25 and $452. They allowed you to back in your vehicle (if you reserved the appropriate stall) and have up to 5 people in your group. 3. You can bring your own food and luckily, Ala Moana is RIGHT THERE so that was super easy! This is actually why I deducted the star - the "concessions" they led us to believe on the website was nothing like what it was in actuality. It was a table with a cooler and some cardboard boxes of Costco/Sam's snacks. No food truck, no freshly popped popcorn, and no car service like once advertised (special occasion I assume)5. Although the staff wasn't the friendliest, their way of getting cars parked and out after the movie was very quick and efficient. I wish the screen was bigger and that they allowed speakers to play the sound - keeping my car running burned my gas and those who didn't needed a jump. All in all, I loved it and wish they would have kept it going!

Maybe others won't agree, but I enjoyed this! After experiencing a drive-in theater in the suburbs of NY, I've always hoped we'd get to experience it sometime in Hawaii. Thankfully, now I can say we have! Though I enjoy going to the theaters, this is a fun and unique experience that I was so stoked to go to. Dare I say it feels old school? In the best way, of course! I've always been a lover of diners, drive-ins, and that sort of thing, so this is up my alley. It's a good bonding experience for those you go with. And it's a safe space since it's in your car! I thought this was organized well and we had such an easy experience going, figuring out how to connect, watching, and leaving. YES, I do think it's pricey, but what isn't on this island? Movies tickets these days are just skyrocketing anyway. I love that we have good weather here and don't have to worry about snow, though I suppose rain is always a possibility. Try to look at the weather if you can, just to be aware. I felt safe at Ala Moana and the screen was large, so the fact that it's central and such a big space is a huge plus. I do think it's a bummer that if you order Raising Cane's through them, it is not as good as it would be FRESH. Since they likely run it from the food court, it's a bit soggier than it would've been had you picked it up yourself at the storefront. But ah, oh well. Maybe just eat before if you want to. Not a big deal to me. Just happy to experience something different. Would go again!
