I thought I knew of pretty much all the Chinese restaurants in the Honolulu area, but I didn't know this place existed until I ran into my BFF at a stoplight . I was admiring the sexy design of the headlights of the car behind me in my rear view mirror when I noticed the passenger was my BFFs dad! BFF was driving her brand new Sonata. I waved out the window and she immediately called me and invited me to dinner with them. So much for exercising! I learned they always go for black bean clams and garlic ong choy. BFF urged me to order something else as well. It helped that they had clean menus with lots of pictures but it was challenging because there were so many choices. I was excited to see some items not normally found on Hawaii menus like pumpkin and cauliflower. We finally decided on the Singapore noodles which had a little kick. I thought prices were a little high but they do offer an in house special where you get an extra dish if you buy 3 entrees. We chose the chicken which had the right amount of salt and my friend said was much better than the fried oysters and spring rolls. All the dishes were good and didn't seem to have too much MSG which is always a concern for us. The restaurant was nice and clean and new looking. Fan was blowing but we didn't feel AC which is something one looks forward to during hurricane season . They didn't have many others dining there that night but hopefully they have folks who take out.

Use to come here all the time way back when food was better the food now with new owners is okay. I was tripping out on the 18% tip they (add) to your bill when she handed me the bill then when I went to pay with card she asked me twice for my PIN # I said no bring me the pad I'll do it myself for 2 people normally you do that with 6 people. You guys should put a sign for your customers.

I would not recommend this place. Over priced for burnt food. Sorry if you think this is harsh but you should know better. It was obviously burnt and smelled burnt too but you still gave it to me. I only noticed after I left the area. To think I only went in to try your manapua but you said you didn't have any.

Ate here because Jack's was unexpectedly closed. No prices on menu, so make sure you ask what the prices are. 8 piece siu mai was around $20. Food was okay. For our party of 4, they automatically added 20% gratuity to our bill! And no offer of hot tea, dammit.

$68 for Catering #4, which stated char sui, roast pork and 16 rolls. 1 small box of mixed chunks of char sui and dry roast pork. The rolls were the best part of the horrible experience. Aina Haina Chop Suey should be ashamed to serve such small portions and charge that much. I should have taken pictures. When I showed up at the New Years Day football party, me and my friends just laughed at how small these portions were. NEVER AGAIN

Called in a takeout order of four items. Salt and Pepper Pork chops, Stir Fried String Beans, Salt and Pepper Tofu, and Cold Ginger and Onion Chicken. When I went to pick up the order, I was surprised to learn the total was $98. To top it off, each order came in a small clamshell takeout box. Hands down, expensive, small portions, and NOT worth the price. Taste overall was decent but nothing to rave about. Would not return.

Walked inside because we used to always go and have dinner when it used to be another restaurant. I loved the old one. Anyhow, had a hard day and wanted to get something fast and easy. Usually they had Monday through Friday specials so I asked. The lady behind the counter literally yelled something that I could not decipher. So I asked excuse me could you please repeat yourself? She again yelled. This time I heard always specials everyday. So I asked her where? She slapped a menu in front of me and turned to a page of dim sum and other choices. None of which I thought were any specials. Moving on, I chose the dinner choice which was $16 because it added roasted chicken. Unreal, but who wants to think? Sure, I'll get that and then I asked if I can add another dish for $5 more. I read it wrong. She now literally was shouting in my face. I had to tell her to please stop shouting and calm down I also told her to please speak to me in a decent manner. I understand speaking and shouting. She wasn't pleasant at all and I didn't appreciate that manner of verbal attack. The place was empty. There was one patron eating closest to the main entrance. There were two other people waiting for take our. The place is inundated with loud posts of prices and pictures. One can only be confused looking at everything. Simplicity is good sometimes. One can enjoy that. Lol Anyhow the food was rather simple. They didn't give a ton of food like back in the day and at $16 I swear they would give more. The pieces and choices of meat were rather fatty and the chicken wasn't great. Sorry, I think I will now have to go elsewhere for a quick take out. I hear kaimuki has a good Chinese restaurant this style. Hope the ladies are not screaming at customers there.

Higher than normal prices. Poor quality food. I like Duk Kee in Kaimuki on 12th Ave much better.
