I had such a wonderful birthday weekend on Oahu. The Aiea Shopping Center was our sweet treat destination for a visit to the Ice Garden. I don't remember what everyone ordered but I know my pineapple one was delicious.Until my next island hopping adventure.XOXO,ChelsieFletcher

Yay! The giant sink hole - pot hole has been fixed! Why it took months and months to get the job done. We'll never know.... But it looks like the job was done right this time...

This place has 3 levels since it is on a hill of sorts. The bottom has some shops, such as Starbucks and Times Supermarket. The second floor has McDonald's and other small shops. The third floor has some shops, Aiea Bowl, and the Alley Restaurant. There are many shops hidden away in the corridors away from the street.

There are at least a couple of reasons to like this shopping center. My favorite reason above all else is Aiea Bowl! It is one of the last few good bowling places that I know of on this island. Besides that, there is also a Starbucks, McDonald's, and a Times Supermarket here. They are all things I love.An interesting thing about this place is that it is split into three levels, each with its own separate entrances without any ramps to go between floors. If you want to park on another floor, you have to exit the shopping center and re-enter through another driveway. The floors are all connected though with a set of escalators and a staircase.On-site security is here to help to make sure everything is okay and to enforce parking. The parking on the bottom level is filled with mostly stalls with 2 hour time limits. This place is definitely a must stop if you have an urge to bowl, eat, or grocery shop.

Five stars. A great strip mall to shop at. It has all the essential stores, such as groceries, drinks, take out restaurants, desserts, grooming, entertainment, and more! Almost a one stop shop location. They just need a clothing store now. Haha. Enjoy!

I have so many childhood memories of Aiea Shopping Center, as we'd come here for our weekly grocery shopping at Times and special occasion dinners at Aiea Chop Suey. My parents still live nearby, so now we stop in to grab a Jamba Juice or a Starbucks. The shopping center has had many tenants over the years, but the infrastructure of the building has barely changed and it could definitely use a paint job. But although the exterior isn't much to look at, it still has some great mom n' pop shops such as Ice Garden, Aiea Copy, Samurai, along with Aiea Bowl and McDonald's.I was inspired to write this review of Aiea Shopping Center because it was my Dad's birthday on Friday and we had a very heated conversation about writing Yelp reviews.(Driving Dad home from birthday lunch)ME: Dad, you should write Yelp reviews. DAD: Why?ME: Because you're so opinionated and you think you know everything. You're a natural born Yelper!DAD: What would I write about?ME: Longs Drugs. Times Supermarket. Halawa District Park. Aiea Shopping Center. Basically anywhere you've ever gone in your life.DAD: I'll tell you why I won't write Yelp reviews! ME: Uh, okay... DAD: Because at Aiea Shopping Center all they need to do is turn those parking stalls just 45 degrees so the damn parking lot isn't always so jammed up!!! ME: That's great insight, Dad. The parking is a nightmare and always backed up. You should write a review so they know to make this change.DAD: Absolutely not!!!ME: Why not? (Looking very confused...)DAD: They should PAY me for this information!!! That's how valuable it is!!!ME: Uh, well sorry to break it to you Dad but I don't think they're going to pay you for that information...DAD: Well they should pay someone for it and I'm not giving away my ideas for free!!!ME: Gee Dad, I don't think you really understand how the internet works. DAD: Dammit, they need to change those parking stalls!!!ME: Okay Dad, well we're home now, so have a great birthday! Father's day is coming up, and I'll be printing this Yelp review and putting it in a frame along with $1 for my Dad. That way he can know that someone paid him for his idea and in the end I still got my Yelp review. He will be so mad I posted this review, and I can't wait to see the look on his face... Ha ha ha ha ha ha!Lesson: Yelping is helping folks, share your ideas...

Aiea Shopping Center has different levels (weird layout) and a mini mall with a bunch of different shops/stores/restaurants.On the upper level is Aiea Bowl, The Alley (restaurant) at Aiea Bowl, Dirty Lickins, and El Charro Mexicano. One level below has Ice Garden, McDonald's, Aiea Copy Center, Koa Pancake House, and L&L Drive Inn.Below that is Times Supermarket, Starbucks, and Jamba Juice. In between there are also firms, barber shops, nail salons, and a slew of other places. Parking is ample on each level (tightest spots located on the top due to Aiea Bowl).I frequent here for The Alley (restaurant) and bowling at Aiea Bowl!

Aiea town is a place I normally don't go on errand runs or just plainly go to, just because I have pretty much everything in urban Honolulu or east Oahu, where I live. Even if I come to Aiea, it would be mostly Pearlridge Shopping Center for stuff. Being on Yelp helps me explore and discover new places to eat and play, so here I was seeing this shopping center for the first time. I even had to google map the place to know where I was going to. Glad to know that this mall is great for those of Aiea who use this mall as an alternative to Pearlridge Shopping Center complex.Aiea Shopping Center is located on Moanalua Road, crossing Kauhale Street and Aiea Heights Drive. Nearby is the Aiea Town Square shopping complex filled with eccentric shops and specialty stores. The Aiea Shopping Center has plenty of parking spaces and caters to the Aiea community at large. The Bus route #54 comes through here and stops at the Aiea Shopping Center, so you shouldn't sleep on the bus. The way back into downtown Honolulu is across the street. Aiea Shopping Center boasts a Starbucks location, which is great for me to hang out, recharge the iPhone, and use their wifi without having to buy anything. There are quite a few eateries and restaurants in this shopping center.Aiea Shopping Center boasts a McDonald's on the second floor, along with more parking spaces and some eclectic eateries and office spaces that will cater to anyone's needs. There's also a doctor's office up on the 2nd floor as well. A Chinese restaurant and a local chicken and ribs restaurant dwells here too. Many options to choose from here, along with an L&L Hawaiian BBQ restaurant next to the Starbucks, if that fits your fancy. Whatever fulfills your needs and tastes, the Aiea Shopping Center can be the best bet for all that you need.Probably the crown jewel to the Aiea Shopping Center is Aiea Bowl. One of Oahu's remaining bowling alleys and it is here in Aiea. The shopping center is kind of outdated and can use a face lift. Couldn't hurt to update the image for the. 21st Century. Somehow Aiea Shopping Center tends to be just another shopping destination that's in a community setting. Quite off the beaten path if you are a tourist, but I had a satisfactory time here and hope to be back soon, at least lounging around in Starbucks and chillaxing the weekend away sipping on a frappuchino. Overall, I would recommend this area mall, if the Pearlridge Shopping center and other area shopping havens are not enough to what you want to go and buy. Many local merchants and businesses to support and patronize. Too bad that there is no Vietnamese restaurants in the shopping complex. Don't worry, there is a handful within a mile from here to get your Pho on! Just use yelp!Support local!B

I love that this shopping center is right down the street from my house! It has almost everything I want/need, all in one convenient location. I'm sad that there's no American Savings Bank (not even an atm, they took it out of Times years ago), but other than that there are many awesome little stores here. Aiea Chop Suey and The Alley Restaurant have super good food. Times carries most of my grocery needs. I love the baristas at Starbucks and Jamba Juice. There's indoor and outdoor seating so you can relax with your coffee and acai bowl. With three levels of shopping, I'm sure that there's something for everyone.
