Had friends visiting all the way from West side of Japan, and they wanted malasadas from Agnes' but we lost track of time when we were sightseeing on the East side. We were about 15 min away from Agnes' when we realized they close at that time, so I called and asked if it would be possible for them to have 3 pieces ready, and the guy who answered the phone very pleasantly agreed. He was nice enough to offer us a few small pieces as extra, and my friends all agreed that theirs is THE BEST! One of them kept saying it's way better than the popular one in town. I really wish they had more locations all over! Thank you to the kind man who accommodated us; you definitely added value to that family's vacation and memory!

I have been a loyal Leonard's fan since I was a kid - can't believe I've never tried Agnes's. The dough somehow beats Leonard's in the fluffy/density ratio. There's no filling, only original. They also come out hot and fresh so be prepared to wait a few minutes.

Randomly saw their truck one day while passing through and decided to check it out. We only got one to share but really wish we would've gotten two! The malasadas come out super fresh and are made to order which takes about 10 minutes when they aren't super busy. If you don't want to wait you can call ahead to order too. They have a few parking spots in lot right in front of the truck that has signs for Agnes'. They are so light and airy and don't taste oily at all which makes them so addicting! Personally I love the style of these so much more than Leonard's. Definitely recommend stopping by if in the area!

I'm not the biggest fan of malasadas, but this place might have sold me on them. We got one fresh malasada and it was crispy, doughy (but not too doughy), and coated with the perfect amount of sugar. They're definitely made fresh to order since we had to wait a couple minutes for it to cool down. The food truck is conveniently located near a good coffee shop, so it makes for a great stop in the morning.

Agne's Portuguese bake shop is a food truck located in the back parking lot of a store. I almost passed it and left but saw it at the last moment. So just park in the parking lot and look around the back, you'll find it behind the gate. The malassada was warm and hot out of the frier. The main difference I can see is that there is a hole in the middle of it which makes for more even cooking and more crispy surface area. Taste wise I'd say it was similar to other malassadas on the island. I guess I'd have to taste them side by side to know for sure. They were hot and sugary and had a nice crisp outside and a moist dense interior. Among the best malassadas on the island minus the long wait. I wouldn't hesitate to get malassadas from here if I was on this side of the island again.

Agnes malasada truck is my happy place! Fortunately on a recent trip I visited Agnes twice! I had to make up for lost time! Located in Kailua, the Agnes bakery truck thankfully serves hot, fresh, and delicious malasadas. They moved to the back of the building so don't panic (like me) if you don't see the truck where it used to be on the side. They also started serving coffee which in my opinion was a smart move. We got lucky as the first day we visited, coffee was free! Score! They also added one picnic table adjacent to the truck. On the day we visited it had just rained so the seats were really wet. So, we ended up sitting in the back of the SUV and tailgated in the parking lot. It was perfect and made total sense since the malasadas are superb right out of the fryer and into my mouth! The owner of the truck is super nice and efficient. He takes order and makes the malasadas. It can get busy during rush hour. So I'd recommend calling in your order for easy pickup and go. Prices aren't too bad either and parking is plentiful. Awesome place for a delicious taste of Hawaii!LOCATION: 5/5FOOD: 5/5SERVICE: 5/5VALUE: 5/5AMBIANCE: 5/5PET FRIENDLY: 5/5CLEANLINESS: 5/5PARKING: 5/5

Agnes Bake Shop is truly a Kailua treasure. Good Malasada's can be hard to find once you've had a good one. The famous one is Leonards's but Agnes' is also in the same category of Great Malasada's. Support them so we can continue to always find special treats. And their wagon is very convenient.

I wouldn't have been able to find this on my own, and by driving by it, because it is tucked in behind a store, so make sure you go exactly where the address is and park your car in the small parking lot and walk around. We ordered 6 donuts and it was made fresh to order, like it was still really hot in the box. Needless to say, this is probably the best malasadas I've had on the island, and don't get me wrong, Leonard's is good, but this one is better in my opinion. The bread is a bit more thick and mochi-like compared to other malasadas I've had. Also, there's only 1 flavor, meaning no filling, just sugar coated - my preference when it comes to malasadas. We ate this in the parking lot, and also had another one 6 hrs later at room temperature, and it was still good.

Fresh and hot, made to order...MUST-have when in kailua town. Pleasant service and taste just as it is when bakery was open...soft and doughy with a crispy crunch on the outside.
