A Rainbow In Paradise Weddings

Kalona and crew are just simply awesome! After calling several Oahu wedding planners, she was the only one who was quick to respond (within 24 hours or less on all communication), upfront, all-in-one and super flexible with the few changes we made to our ceremony package. We are very laid back and just wanted a beautiful destination wedding on the most beautiful beach in the world - without the hassles.Kalona planned everything to the letter, and made our small Makapu'u beach wedding on our vacation week in Oahu, a totally breeze. Literally, we just had to take a short drive to the beach, park and assemble. The bouquet was colorful and fragrant, not surprisingly, it matched my wedding dress. The leis were also beautiful. Our photographer, Jenny, was professional and really nice. The photos are just beautiful - I really couldn't ask for more, they are stunning! She asked if we wanted to do any pose she didn't do, little did she know - we showed her our super fun, ninja side! Our family and friends weren't able to hear our ceremony or vows unfortunately, but at least they were able to be entertained by the ukulele player - who was friendly and quite talented. If you want a beautiful beach wedding, amazing photography, entertainers and you don't have time or energy to be stressed out in paradise - Kalona is the only wedding planner and officiant you need, she's the wedding ceremony master!

My ten years fiancé and I had planned this trip to Hawaii for holiday. 2 days before we left for the holiday, we decided to get married in Hawaii. I googled a few places and found A Rainbow in Paradise! I knew the Hurricane Lane was happening, and didn't know what the weather was going to be. I emailed Kalona and she emailed back straight away. And said 2 Days was enough time. And she was very prompt with communication. She organized hair makeup artist Vicky, singer, hula dancer, location, flowers, lei, helped us with vows, photographer and videographer. The ceremony itself was magical . We can't thank you enough!! Highly recommend

Kalona was nothing but amazing to work with. We thought organising a wedding in Hawaii from Australia would be tough, but Kalona made the whole process as easy as can be! She was very responsive to every email and question we had and kept us updated with everything she was doing. We trusted her to choose our photographer, caterer, hair and makeup artists, bar staff and other vendors and she did an amazing job. Our wedding was held at Loulu Palm Farm Estate and everything was perfect - there wasn't a single issue and all of our guests were extremely impressed with everything including the venue, food, Polynesian fire show to the staff. They all loved Kalona! She was there every step of the way to make sure everything ran smoothly and we can't thank her enough for making our special day perfect! Thanks again Kalona - it truly was a day that we will never forget!

Look no further Yelpers who want to marry in HI!!!! If you are looking for a one-stop shop for all of your perfect Hawaii wedding planning needs, Kalona and crew is who you need. We felt completely taken care of throughout the entire planning process and we felt CALM. So many of my co-workers would approach me and ask how crazy the wedding planning was and I would just respond "Kalona's on it". And she was. She took care of getting the park/beach permit, the set up, arranging the hula dancer and ukelele player. Our photographer was phenomenal. She took care of the beautiful lei's and my indescribably gorgeous bouquet. Our ceremony was custom written with her guidance and it was just beautiful. We love that she joined us for shave ice at Matsumoto's afterwards and promised to keep in touch when she's in the Bay Area next. We have just the Tiki Bar to take her to! Mahalo Kalona!!!

Kalona was amazing! She was extremely helpful in making my wedding amazing. She was extremely flexible with working me with me on creating a custom package for my destination wedding. She was really great on dealing with the time zone difference from MD to HI!! It was really easy to work with her and she really understood what I was wanting for my wedding. She really made my day special and worth remembering! Thank you to Kalona and her team for everything they did!! It's been two years and people still talk about my wedding and how great it really was!!!

I am new to providing reviews on Yelp. I normally look to Yelp for others' reviews, but being as I am working with a number of vendors across the waters, I thought I'd share my experiences especially to those who may be doing the same (planning from afar).As for 'A Rainbow in Paradise', I stumbled upon Kalona (the wedding coordinator) and so far so good!! I was referred to Kalona from Aloha Party Rentals. I was contracted with another wedding coordinator and...well...it just wasn't work out very well. When I called Kalona, we hit it off right away! She has been a pleasure to work with. VERY responsive to my emails and phone calls. I don't think I ever waited more than 24 hours...heck, maybe 12 hours for a response...honestly even less though I am aware of HI time and try to communicate during their hours. My wedding is in a few weeks and when I return I'll update my feedback, but so far it's going very well! I had some coordination already in place which she fully accepted and simply stepped in where I asked her to. She normally coordinates the whole package and I believe it is done successfully. The vendors she did coordinate for me (photographer and guitarist) have been great so far. The photographer called me to understand what I was looking for and the guitarist supplied a song list for me to review since I didn't really know what songs a guitarist can play and not play. He had a very wide selection (over 70 songs).Sorry for the long review. I hope it was helpful and happy planning! I'll provide an update post wedding! When I return I am confident I will up my rating to 5 stars. I just feel like I have to see the full package before I do so. :)

Our wedding day exceeded our expectations and many guests commented on how it was the best wedding they have ever been to. From the moment we began communicating with Kalona we knew we had picked the right wedding planner. She was unbelievable to work with: emails were answered promptly and she really went above and beyond to answer questions and give suggestions. Kalona and her team do an excellent job. Kalona and her team worked wonders for our destination wedding. Planning a wedding from over 2000K miles away is not easy, but Kalona made it effortless. We were planning a trip to Oahu and decided a few months before that we would get married while there. I contacted a few other wedding planners on the island but after speaking with Kalona, I felt she knew exactly what I had in mind. From there, she took care of everything, (photographer, flowers, music and hula, location, setting up, transportation, even the Luau dinner that evening! She was prompt with her responses and all communications were clear. Our wedding turned out more than I had envisioned. Our guests loved the Hawaiian ceremony and the beach location was perfect. We did not have to take care of much. Our wedding turned out exactly as we had hoped and we were relaxed and stress-free because Kalona took care of everything. I highly recommend Kalona and A Rainbow in Paradise Weddings.

Kalona and her team are amazing!!!! Being on the east coast and planning a wedding in Hawaii is not as easy as you think. I contacted so many planners and got the run around. The minute I contacted Kalona not only did she respond in a timely matter she picked up the phone to call me. That extra personal touch spoke volumes to me and I booked her right away! She was very patient and made sure she was available to answer any questions. She was able to find the exact location we wanted to get married at. She is such a sweet warm and loving person. I am pretty sure she brought the sun out right before my wedding :) I am so happy we went with A Rainbow in Paradise. Just look at all of her reviews. You will be missing out if you pass her and her team by. Note: When my husband and I went to pick up our marriage license the lady helping us is very familiar with Kalona and spoke highly of her.

My daughter, Rachel, got married in Hawaii in January 2024. Kalona and her team put together a perfect wedding day for her and her future husband, Cody. Kalona left no detail out and the day ran smoothly. Would highly recommend A Rainbow In Paradise Weddings!
