Cute little shop in Honolulu. Came here for morning lattes and service was relatively quick.My wife got the latte with foam art. She enjoyed it and was adequately caffeinated. I got the black sesame latte which is not for everyone, but if you like the robustness and pungent flavor of sesame, this is for you!

This review is for the houjicha latte with earl grey foam, is so good! Ask for unsweetened houjicha latte since the cold foam will balance off the drink. Service was good, I really appreciate the cashier since I ask her for the bathroom code, instead of pointing me to the napkin box direction (where the code was posted) she told me and make sure I remember them. I highly recommend their houjicha latte and scuffins (I couldn't find a place that does scone better than them).

This place is located in Salt Kakaako, and always seems steadily busy. It was my first time here and the server was so kind in explaining their popular items/which drinks we'd probably like. We got an iced vanilla latte which was spot on for me. We also got the cinnamon toast scone- not super sweet but was very good. They have indoor and outdoor seating if you're trying to dine in or do some work.

Cute cafe, very busy on a Sunday morning. Matcha latte was okay, black sesame latte was good. They have these scruffins that are the size of hockey pucks! Tried the bacon chive and macadamia chocolate one? Loved the texture, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.

I've been coming to 9Bar, but had an ok experience recently. The scones were as I have remembered, but their drinks weren't. Sadly I won't be ordering their drinks again. Both the black sesame iced latte and roasted matcha drinks sounded better than they tasted. The black sesame iced tasted water down.

loved the variety of coffee drinks here! and a reasonable price too. I got the black sesame drink but wanted coffee with it, and the barista recommended adding a double shot to it as that's his favorite way to enjoy it. it was great! although I wish he asked if whole milk was okay because I didn't realize until later that I didn't ask for an alternative. parking is free for an hour with validation. 9bar will validate!

Enjoying their summer drink. Campfire Drink, a s'mores drink with real marshmallow cream on top. I chose to have it iced and I'm love it. Surprisingly it isn't too sweet. Just the right combination of ingredients when you take a sip it's just right.

9BarHNL is a cool coffee shop that serves up quality espresso and is known for their unique baked good. Located at SALT in Kakaako- there's free 1 hour parking in the SALT garage and I believe that they will validate if you plan on staying in. You can find people with their laptops doing work or even enjoying their morning cup of coffee with their furry friends. It can get a bit crowded, but if there isn't any room to sit inside, there's plenty of outdoor seating around SALT. I ordered an iced black sesame latte which normally comes without coffee, but I added a double shot of espresso to it. The black sesame has a rich nutty flavor that is also a bit sweet- balancing out the espresso. I also ordered one of their scuffins, their scone a muffin hybrid. I got their ensaymada scuffin-- I hadn't heard of ensaymada before but they had me at "whipped butter and sugar". So, it's a savory scuffin topped with a whipped butter and sugar icing. It's savory and sweet and reminded me of a scone at high tea with whipped butter! I came into 9Bar for a pick-me-up after an unfortunate miscommunication had me in the area a day earlier than I needed to be. But seriously, all the animosity and stress from my morning melted away the moment I walked in and got such a genuine welcome with eye contact and a "good morning" from the barista. Let this be a testament that you never know what a person is going through and the simplest of kind gestures can really go a long way. I enjoyed the latte and scuffin, but I'm coming back solely based on that welcoming feeling I got when I first walked in.

I love a nerdy coffee shop. You know...serious baristas who are doing things like heating your espresso cup with hot water, measuring the grounds and timing the pull. 9Bar HNL is such a location. Located in the interior courtyard of Salt Kaka'ako these are coffee nerds delivering high quality pour over and espresso drinks in a relaxed and lovely setting. It's a perfect stop before or after brunch/lunch. Don't sleep on their baked goods. I was recently enchanted by an oatmeal raisin cookie that clearly was made by magical beings...probably a coven of benevolent witches working with unicorns. Thats the only explanation I can think of.

It's a dog zoo in there. Clearly not service dogs. Staff says nothing. Coffee is fine if you're okay with the health code violations
