Payment: Cash or Card okYou come here for sashimi cuts. Got here at 11am, they only had about 1lb left of the Japanese Blue Fin Toro. Market price was $89.99/lb, price could change. And You best believe I ordered it! It was one of the reasons why I went there. Took it on the plane with me and it was delicious! Also, got 1lb of the regular Toro, which was good as well.

Located in Chinatown or Honolulu, 88 fresh fish market always has good ahi, salmon and hamachi. Today, I brought 3/4 lbs of Chu Toro, the fish is fresh, but I think this Chu toro is not as fatty as I thought. With that beginning said, I guess if I buy a piece of ahi filet, not the entire piece will be fatty. I just cut it at home to enjoy. China town has some street parkings and a few municipal parkings. They also sell poke, definitely a place to check it out.

Ordered fish for new years, 2lbs kings salmon received 1lb 1.7 oz, 1 lb Hamachi received 10oz,, ordered Otoro 1 lb received 7 oz only the toro was the amount I actually ordered 2lbs, called to complain and they said they charged me for what was there before butchering the actual fish, so I paid for skin, bone and waste, they said everyone knows this which is bullshit because when I go anywhere else I pay for and receive fish not waste, I will not be going back here again ever and would not recommend

I'm writing this review because the fish is so fresh and the highest quality. I stopped by about a week ago and the gentleman behind the counter explained to me all about the Hamachi and O'Toro which came from Japan. He game me a sample of the Hamachi which was like butter. If I could afford the fish, I would buy some. Next time I will try the poke, but maybe get some toro.

When in Chinatown Honolulu 88 fresh fish mkt is always a hit. Very fresh and high end sashimi and poke. Salmon is from N/Z , the finest and O-toro you can't go wrong. If the parking was better I'd be there every week. So good.

Preordered 1lbs chutoro and 1/2 lbs king salmon through their instagram account. They are located in Oahu Market in bustling and gritty Chinatown. The order was already packaged in pink paper and they gave us a bag of ice to keep the fish on. Opened it later at home and was relieved to see our small platter looked like their insta pics. Better yet was that the sashimi was fresh and cuts were good. They even added some ginger and soy. They are very nice, fast response, and even called the day of as a reminder to pick up my order. A value pick for decent quality fish.

In the heart of Honolulu's Chinatown is a small gem serving up fresh, locally caught poke from that day from what I was informed.88 Fish Market is within the Oahu Market in Chinatown so it might be hard to find and confusing. The market it's in has all of the characteristics of a Chinatown market: the grittiness, the smells, and the chaos. There is also no AC in this market. If you're not a fan of these types of markets and/or would rather be comfortable, I'd probably recommend going elsewhere for your poke. The fish market sells fresh fish whole or filleted but it's their small stand across from that which serves the poke. I ordered their best seller which is the [FOOD]. It was very good and you can definitely tell it was fresh! The ginger that it was served with was very good too. We did have to wait close to 20 minutes for our order to be ready though.Keep in mind that parking is quite limited as it's in Chinatown and there are no restrooms at this location nor are there sinks to just wash hands. Additionally, there aren't many places to sit except for a few small tables off to the side.

Adding photos. Fish was fresh, just not what was expected. Much of it wasn't blocks - more like remnants.

When did it get so hard to find fish cake?! I used to buy from Marukai but they stopped selling it during the pandemic. I was so happy to find this place. I came here on a Sunday at about 10am and got the last container. They sell it for $12/lb. Note that they have a $20 purchase minimum for credit cards. Since it's Chinatown, parking is hard. I ended up parking at one of the municipal parking lots around the corner. It's definitely better as a two person job where one person jumps out.
