So if you want some very reasonably priced Chinese food, this spot is some place that you could definitely try out. It's in a strip mall off of Buford highway so the parking is free so just keep that in mind. Although depending on what time of night you go, it could be an issue with parking because there is a lounge basically next door. I got it in close to closing time and it wasn't even an issue when I asked could I order. She was super family and waited for me to figure out what I wanted. I ended up going for the general tso chicken, spring rolls, fried rice, and a pot roast roll.General tso chicken - The chicken itself was pretty decent. The flavor was good, the consistency was pretty okay. And you got a nice size portion. I got a combination but it seemed more like a lunch portion than a full dinner portion but it's okay. That did not have an impact on how I rated it, especially because you get so much bang for your book consider how much Chinese food cost these days lol!Fried rice - The fried rice didn't really have a lot of flavor to it. It came with onions in the fried rice, but I was about it for the most part. It was a type of thing to where you needed that the soy sauce because whatever flavor they had, was a little bit more bland it didn't carry the meal. Or you needed to have the sauce from the chicken to give it a little extra flavor.Spring rolls - spring rolls and the roast rolls kind of had the same issue, flavor-wise they were okay. But it felt like they were cooked a little bit too long. But it was a spring roll so it kind of was what it was lol It wasn't bad so I don't know how to describe that but it was okay.Pot roast roll - again, the taste for the roll was decent. I liked it. It's just that I wish that it wasn't fried to a crisp more than necessary. It was hard to get to the flavor because you're really trying to navigate the way the crunch was set up. Because it was a hell of a lot of crutch! Like it's sat in the deep fry for a little bit too long. It could have been an off day, I understand that. Would I give it a shot, I would go back again maybe. Again it was very reasonably priced food and it wasn't bad. But I would probably make a couple of different moves. I would have no problem getting the chicken, I will try a couple others. But maybe the fried rice with something in it would have been a little more appropriate. Because the play fried rice didn't hit. And you know anything about Chinese food, at least in America, that is a staple You have to have the fried rice be on point. But here's the thing, there's so many other places along this road that you can get Chinese food from that it wouldn't be my first choice, like I said it wasn't terrible, it's just the fried rice having little flavor and the egg rolls having the shell of an armadillo, really didn't do well by me but I'm sure maybe not even a block or so up I can find other Chinese food So I wouldn't rush back, but I'm not saying I wouldn't go back but I want to be honest about my opinion.

This venue is in the middle of a strip mall. I recently tried the sesame chicken from this restaurant and I must say it was delicious. The portion size was generous and it was enough for two meals. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sesame flavor was just right. I highly recommend trying this dish if you're looking for a tasty and satisfying meal.

The food and service were OK. Didn't care for the flavor profiles - but it's essentially Chinese to-go. Only a handful of booths to sit. Overall-Ok

My go-to dish, the Egg Drop Wonton Soup with chopped scallions, is a symphony of flavors that always leaves me wanting more. Each spoonful is a comforting embrace of warmth and richness. Lately, I've ventured into their hot and sour soup territory and discovered a new favorite in their pork egg foo young - a perfect harmony of savory goodness. Hong Kong City consistently delivers deliciousness.

I have been getting their hot and sour soup every week or two since I moved to the area a few months ago. It is perfectly spicy and has no meat other than eggs. I'm not vegetarian, but I like simple hot and sour soup, and this place does it great! The only other thing I've ever had is the crab Rangoon, which is also great! The staff is always friendly and my order is up within minutes. I'll keep coming as long as I live in the area. The prices are great!

I recently tried out a little hole in the wall that is Hong Kong City and my experience was a bit mixed. While there were some aspects that I enjoyed, there are definitely areas that could use improvement.Let's start with the positives. I got a combination plate with the General Tso chicken with fried rice and some crab Rangoons. The chicken was tender but not overly tender to the point that it was chewy. Also the crab Rangoon were crispy and tasted really good. I appreciated the made to order service. The portion sizes were a little more than expected for the cost which is always good thing, ensuring that I got my money's worth. However, there were a few drawbacks that prevented me from giving it a higher rating. First, for my taste the rice looked and tasted bland. Although the chicken was cooked well the sauce on the chicken was a little overwhelming for my taste. It was a little on the sweeter side so maybe that played a part.In conclusion, I feel that Hong Kong City has its merits but falls short in some key areas. It's not the worst Chinese food spot in the area but it's also not the best. If you're looking for a decent spot to get that good greasy Chinese takeout that won't break your bank, you should give this place a try. It won't "WOW" you but it will leave you satisfied.

This was my first time eating from here! If you have been following me for awhile you know I LOVE chicken wings and shrimp fried rice. I found one for 11 $. I did like that my order was made to order. Even though I ordered the food over the phone. The only thing I did not like was the wings tasted like the oil was old. I wasn't feeling it at all.

Great hole-in-the-wall place on Buford Hwy. I'd recommend some fried chicken options like sweet and sour or sesame chicken but my girlfriend loves their egg foo you. This has been my go to pick-up Chinese restaurant since I moved to Buford Hwy. They never disappoint. Good prices, always kind and timely.
