It saddens me to give Hon Machi Sushi and cocktails a one star rating. After spending $73 here we left with greasy leftovers and a stomach ache.Let me start by saying the service was good but the food, fell short of expectations. Their Boston roll had imitation crab and a brown paste that we couldn't distinguish what it was made of. The shrimp and vegetables tempera dinners items were plastered in batter which is supposed to be lightly coated and crisp. A heavy batter is common and expected for American style fish n chips or corn dogs. If I was craving this style of deep fried items, I would have dined somewhere else but when most expect light and crisp Japanese style tempura, this is not what we received. Instead of delicate texture. we had hoped for we had soggy kabocha, carrot, onion and cauliflower. The soggy, round lump was not so appetizing. Personally, I don't think cauliflower should be in a tempura basket but that is just my humble opinion. My mother would not cook or serve this vegetable in her homemade tempura meals at home. There is a satisfying harmony when you pair hot sake with tempura but not at this meal. For some reason the sake was bitter tasting to me. Additionally after receiving the bill, I spotted that they added a provider fee for using a card to pay. I understand the need for this fee but it would have been nice to have been told that there was an option to pay less if using cash. The evening ended on a sour note for my husband. He spent the next few hours in the bathroom. "Noh more Hon Machi Sushi and cocktails for me," he said. "Noh" is "Hon" backwards, I smirked. This restaurant has a stunning water view when I looked over the three tier dirty dish cart that was blocking the aisle. I hope they can make a few improvements to better align with the lakeside setting.

In the mood for sushi and wanted to check out a new spot and this place popped up in the area we were looking.Place was empty when we arrived before 6 on a Fri night but tables filled up shortly after. We ordered egg rolls to start (I thought it was a single egg roll so I ordered two, but it's actually an order of 4 small rolls). They were perfectly crispy with a decent amount of filling and the hubby liked the sweet Chilli dipping sauce it came with. Hubby ordered the Eel roll, the spicy tuna roll, and the U gotta have it roll. The eel roll was tasty, but had so much rice that the flavor was difficult to discern, and ended up looking more meager. Hubby won't be buying Spicy tuna rolls anymore, because this is the second restaurant which has provided a "spicy tuna paste" to top the roll, rather than an actual piece of tuna. The texture threw him off. That being said, the roll had good flavor. The "U Gotta Have It" was delicious, the best roll by far. The combination of flavors was complex yet very pleasing. Very well cooked.I ordered the veggie roll and tofu salad. The veggie roll was fresh, crisp, and light, and I liked the mixture of veggies inside. The tofu salad was awesome. A decent amount of lightly fried tofu atop a bed of mixed greens, strawberries, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and shredded cabbage. The ingredients all tasted fresh and the dressing was the perfect compliment (it was just a bit too much on it, there was a pool of it at the bottom of the bowl).Bathrooms were clean and our server was super friendly and helpful when I needed to ask for descriptions of some of the dishes. We will for sure be back.

We've been here multiple times and every single time it's absolutely delicious! The service is so prompt and servers are always friendly. The ambiance is a lot light intimate setting with booths throughout the restaurant. It's one of my absolute favorite sushi places in chandler! It can be on the pricey side but always worth the splurge. Stop by if you're in chandler and craving sushi!

First time here, nice ambiance and patio with a great view of the water while you dine. We ordered the gyoza to start which was tasty and crispy. For sushi we ordered a rainbow roll, crispy ca, and spicy tuna rice crispy , the fish was sooo fresh!!! This is some of the best sushi ive had in arizona!!! The rolls are a bit small compared to other restaurants but they make up in flavor and freshness . GET the spicy tuna crispy rice it is one of the best things I've ever ate truly an experience and soooooo delicious. The pomegranate martini I had paired so well with everything. I will definitely be returning im already dreaming of this sushi and everything on their menu! The waiter was attentive and checked on us constantly.

Enjoyed a nice sushi lunch today. We shared the 24 piece sashimi with tempura, seaweed salad, pickled radishes and squid salad. Second item we shared was the udon and nigiri combo. Everything was fresh and delicious. Of the sashimi the escolar was our favorite. The fresh wasabi was fantastic, much brighter flavor in comparison to the typical paste. Nice ambiance sitting near the window. Our server was polite, responsive and friendly. We look forward to returning.

So we ended up at this place on a whim, because the place we had chosen before had a long wait. I'm very thankful we ended up in this place instead. this has become one of our new favorite sushi restaurants. Our server was so awesome and very attentive and she was also so pretty. I wish I could remember her name. We tried a couple different rolls with salmon on them and they were all so good. I also just want to say that I am not a big fan of Sriracha mayo, but they added toasted sesame oil in there, Sriracha mayo and it is amazing. It creates a whole new taste profile. We will definitely be coming back.

This place is our absolutely FAVORITE place to get dinner!!! We have been coming here for about 2 years now and we have great service and great food every time. One of us is vegetarian, and the Green Chilli Roll is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We go and order 5 or 6 of just the green chilli rolls every time. They make a BANGIN' Shirley Temple, the food comes out fast, and the waitress who came to know us was our favorite. It's never too busy but even when it is the service doesn't slow down. This is our favorite spot of all time, and we'll DEFINITELY be

Stopped by for a quick bite and the sever made all the difference. She made a recommendation when I had a question and even had the crab mix removed from the garden roll. I had an ice tea to go as well as she suggested. This has by far been the most attentive server I have ever had here. I didn't get her name but she had long dark hair and if you get her, you will be super pleased. The pics include the green mussels and the garden roll with no crab that she suggested. It's actually not on the menu.
