HomeStyle Hawaiian bbq is hands down one of the best Hawaiian spots in town! I always get the garlic shrimp, and it never disappoints. The shrimp is perfectly cooked, loaded with that irresistible garlic flavor, and served with just the right amount of sauce.This place has become my go-to for Hawaiian food--every visit is consistently amazing. The portions are generous, and the quality is always top-notch. The flavors take me straight to the islands, and I can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for authentic, delicious Hawaiian food, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

My fiance and I visited this place for our Wednesdate. We got seated really quick for a Wednesday evening. It wasn't too crowded. I ordered the lava chicken and he ordered the da beast. We also got a lilikoi strawberry lemonade. Lemonade was a 4/5, it's a little bit on the sweeter side. Lava chicken was a 5/5, just amazing Da beast was a 3/5, the patty was lacking in seasoning a bit and there was too much chili. Overall, we'd come back to get the lava chicken and try the Malassadas.

**This review is for catering only**I have been a frequent customer of Homestyle Hawaiian restaurants (Mesa College & Tierrasanta) for over ten years. I have ordered catering for events a few times over the years, but today they have pushed me over the edge and may have lost a customer (definitely a catering customer). First, it is a nightmare to get in touch with the person in which to order catering. You call, you text, you get no response. After a week of trying, my husband finally got a response a week ago, placed the order and was told he would receive an invoice in his e-mail to pay for the catering. He received no such invoice. He went in person to the restaurant on Tuesday to follow up - no one could help him and those from the restaurant that took his number and said they would try to confirm did not ever call back.Fast forward to today (Friday), the day before I am expecting 80 people to be at my home for my daughter's birthday party and I go to the restaurant myself to try to confirm this mess. The two girls helping were helpful (despite it being busy and super hot in the restaurant) and got the manager on the phone to try to confirm (or even confirm that there was no order). I thanked them and left my phone number for a call back (I received no such call). We've been burnt too many times this go-round, so after I concluded my shopping I stopped back at the restaurant in person and they confirmed that they could not do the order.So here I am -- less than 24 hours before the party and no catering order. Great way of doing business, thanks for nothing Homestyle Hawaiian.

We enjoyed our time here. This location was bigger than their Mesa College Drive where there wasn't much seating or parking. I have not been to their Pacific Beach or Chula Vista locations. I had called and emailed them the week before to double check if they were open on Memorial Day. They called me back and also emailed back that they were.We got seated quickly for our party of 4 and took the high chairs. Our server was quite friendly and checked on when we wanted to order as our party took a moment to look over the menu.My husband and I ordered the 2-Item Combo Plate consisting of the Korean and Lava Chicken with 1 scoop of rice and 1 scoop of macaroni salad. Our couple K2 ordered appetizers - Deep-Fried Musubi, Meat Lumpia, and Dole Whip ice cream. We liked our choice of the combo plate, me being happy with being able to eat meat and also the mac salad. With the sauces on the side, it gave more opportunity to see which we liked to dip it with.Would come again when I no longer have dietary restrictions!

I definitely prefer this location over their Mesa College Dr. location. The food is always hot and fresh here, and the portions are generous. The staff is friendlier here as well- it feels like everyone says hello to you when you walk in. We tried out their new online ordering system yesterday and thought it worked well. Their menu is the same online, and you can make customizations as needed. The system also gave us an estimated time for when our food would be ready. We arrived a bit early, but only had to wait about 5 minutes for our order to come out. When we got to the home, we noticed that some of our order was made incorrectly. We ordered a BYO Loco moco with Kalua Pig but received hamburger patty instead. Not too big of a deal. We also ordered one spam musubi but received two- not complaining about that mistake though...lol. Our two item combo plate with Katsu and Teri Beef was perfect. The last thing we ordered was the Lillikoi Lemonade. This was a flavor I had never tried before, but I think it's one of my new favorites. I googled lillikoi and found that it is a yellow passion fruit from Hawaii. The ambiance here is very nice- it looks like a bar, but it is much quieter and cleaner. Their set up is much more modern here than the Mesa College Dr. location as well.

This was my first time at this location and it was a good experience. The service was good and the food didn't take too long. I ordered the Daily Special Big Braddah Combo which comes with kalbi, lava chicken, kalua pig, mac salad, and rice. The kalua pig was tender but a little on the gamey side, the lava chicken was good, and the kalbi was really tough. I think next time I'll just order the lava chicken or kalua pig on its own.

For Hawaiian food, this place fits the bill. Checks all the boxes for variety and taste. Service was prompt and atmosphere was island-ish hut. Plenty of beer choices as well. Servings were plentiful enough to take home for another meal.

I usually went to one of their other locations, but after moving to Tierrasanta, this location is right down the street from me! We decided to grab some food for a quick lunch on a Saturday, and luckily it wasn't too busy!- PARKING -Tons of parking as it shares a parking lot with other businesses!- SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT -Really nice seating area, with beers on tap! Definitely bigger than any of the other locations we went to in the past, which is nice to actually be able to dine-in! We got seated quickly as it wasn't too busy, and the server was so welcoming and friendly! We ordered our food, and unfortunately one of our plates lagged behind everyone elses' but they gave him extra sauce as an apology.- FOOD -Teriyaki Chicken Plate: One of my go-tos, if not the Katsu plate obviously! The chicken was nicely grilled, and I'm glad I was able to swap out rice for the green salad and mac. Their mac salad is bomb too!- OVERALL -Definitely a gem of a location tucked in this corner of Tierrasanta! So happy I live closer to this Homestyle Hawaiian now!

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Delicious Hawaiian food! Customer Service was on point, I called in and placed an order and I really appreciated how they read back my order and confirmed the location I was picking up the food from since they have multiple locations. I also received a text once my order was ready to pick up. The whole experience of placing the order was easy and seamless. The ambiance inside had a relaxing vibe. I will definitely be coming back to eat inside also.We ordered the mahi-mahi with capers, and it came with macaroni salad, and rice. We also ordered the garlic shrimp scampi, and chose a green salad and macaroni salad. Lastly, I ordered the teriyaki chicken plate with macaroni salad, and rice. The macaroni salad was delicious and noodles were al dente, the salad itself was creamy and yummy. The mahi-mahi with capers and garlic shrimp were amazing. Mahi, mahi is my go to and the cream sauce with capers had the lemon flavor that I really loved. The shrimp were huge and butterflied with a big garlic flavor. The teriyaki chicken was also delicious and tender.They also have a pretty big parking lot as this location is in a shopping center so parking is easy to find. I parked within a minute of arriving. Definitely will be coming back when I'm craving Hawaiian seafood!
