Matcha Chicken Avocado Bowl for the win! After working out I really needed some sustenance that was nutritious and full of protein; thus, Homegrown's matcha avocado chicken bowl was a great post-workout meal. I would eat this again and again if I could. Or if I had the funds. I'm a fan of Homegrown. But unfortunately, the Bellevue location no longer exists. However, I'm glad there's one in downtown Redmond, dangerously next door to Molly Moon's, as Homegrown serves fresh, sustainable foods that make you feel good when you eat it. I visited on a weekday afternoon and the place was busy. When I entered, there was a line outside the door as you self order on a touchscreen at the counter. The employees were all preparing meals, with many fulfilling takeout orders. I took the last table to dine in and felt bad for other customers who were trying to find a seat. However, they do have outdoor seating too. It gets busy here! The matcha chicken avocado bowl included greens, avocado, chicken, quinoa, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and feta with a basil lime matcha dressing that is SO GOOD. What is this sauce and how do I get more of it? My bowl was delicious, with a lot to love. I was so hungry that I wanted more of it, especially since it's over $13 before tip and tax, so it's not cheap. But it's definitely my go-to order at Homegrown now. Glad to have a Homegrown's in a location I frequent. And I love that the ingredients here are sustainably sourced and they use compostable containers.

I'm back again!! This time i decided to try something different and chose the chicken salad sandwich and it was another great choice. This place is truly amazing and much healthier and flavorful option than Panera lol.

I got a spicy chickpeas sandwich. The fillings were fresh and I love that they have so many vegetarian and vegan options.

I ordered from Homegrown via Doordash and am happy with the quality, temperature and flavors of my order. I ordered a Cobb salad and a lunch combo 1/2 sandwich & soup. All were well prepared and tasty! I'm very happy with my first time trying this spot.

Was looking for a healthy lunch that would be quick. Although I thought there were plenty of healthy options, and the food tasted pretty good, it took FOREVER! There wasn't a line and I counted 6 employees, the order took over 20 min to be prepared. I don't know why. This wouldn't be my first choice for lunch. On the bright side, it's right next to Molly moon ice cream...nom nom.

Back in highschool, I - a jaded and irreverent teenager - was hanging out with my best friend. Our conversation has dwindled and we began to eavesdrop on a nearby couple. Or, really, we were noticing the sad lack of conversation some older guy was having with his wife. They weren't saying much... And it was obvious. These were the days before smartphones, so for a couple to be sharing this level of silence was not common. It was uncomfortable.Eventually the husband broke the silence by remarking: "That was a really great sandwich I had at lunch."We waited until we were out of ear shot and then died laughing. How boring their lives must have been, for this to be their only topic of conversation. Being the arrogant teenagers we were, we would joke about it for months, sitting on a bus, being out in public and we'd mockingly describe an imaginary lunch we'd just had: "Man that was a great sandwich!" "Oh yeah! That bread! WHAT WAS THAT BREAD?" "The bread was great, yeah - but.. the cheese, like... Just the right amount of cheese."As I've grown older, wiser and less obnoxious I've learned to appreciate a really good sandwich. And in visiting more restaurants I've observed the uncertain anticipation growing in me when trying a new one. Especially the ones that come with higher expectations because of the reputation, the quality and values they describe. I don't want to sound dramatic, but when such a place disappoints, it can be a conflicting feeling. I really want to like them, I want them to be successful. I cheer and celebrate success. But when the food is just... boring... and you experience that enough times, your cautious optimism turns to cynicism.Visiting Homegrown for the first time on a whim, I'd learned to temper my expectations. A defense mechanism against the familiar "meh" of disappointment. My first sandwich bite was a slap in the face that brought me back to the reality of just how good good-food can really be.It wasn't a watered-down, barely-passing-the-bar "ok, this is not bad" type of experience. It was a let's-express-some-genuine-enthusiasm-despite-my-generation-being-known-for-apathy moment.I shared my sandwich with my wife. She shared hers with me.And in an ironic twist of fate, we've been talking about our sandwiches for months now. This leads me to two possible conclusions:1) I've either grown old and boring,OR2) Despite having some really good sandwiches over the years, I'd never until now experienced the kind of sandwich that becomes an experience I can revisit as a fond memory, just like memories of rock concerts, cities I've visited, becoming a dad, teaching my kids to ride bikes. And maybe it's both.Maybe I've grown older, maybe I've grown boring. But if my future is made up of going to Homegrown to have a really great sandwich I can talk about with others, and feeling happy about it... That's a pretty wonderful future in my books.

I wanted something healthy for dinner tonight, so I headed to Homegrown. This unassuming spot has a low key, no stress vibe. You order your meal on a tablet- with options to customize your order. Each order is made fresh, and I got my food pretty quick. It does seem to be mostly a to-go place, but there are a handful of tables. I got a chicken avocado bowl and a cup of tomato soup. The soup was hot and very tasty - perfect for a cool afternoon. The bowl was a delicious blend of fresh greens, quinoa, grilled chicken breast, cherry tomatoes, avocado, and feta. My taste buds and body thanked me for this meal!

Haven't been here in years. I remember it always having great fresh food. I haven't gotten my food yet but they have gone self serve. That's cool, enter your own order on the screen and pay. I'm down with that. My problem is not one person working looked up, said hello or acknowledged me at all.. come on, a tiny bit of customer service goes a LONG way.

Very good sandwiches and bowls. Don't expect anything that's wow, but the food is very fresh and decent quality.
