It's a simple restaurant (pretty spacious) that was kind of empty but it is Christmas Day so likely not the norm. A little hard to park and get to, but worth it. The green beans were amazing! Great flavor and crispy. The eggplant was a little disappointing, not much flavor despite the dark sauce, wish it had either sweet or salty just some flavor. The beef and potatoes had fair flavor, I prefer spicier but that is just a preference; they did fry the potato so that was nice. We had take out of the spicy boiled beef and spicy fried fish yesterday and both were amazing. It is a lot of self service, but I'm ok with that. They do have lunch specials which is quite convenient. Would probably try getting takeout from this place in the future if I don't feel like cooking.

Only okay.Caveat, I've only tried the dumplings and buns here through delivery, maybe the actual dishes are better.Pork buns: pretty small and doughy, wasn't my favorite. Meat was pretty oily and there was a lot of empty space inside the bun (possibly because of how high fat content the meat was). Could use more vegetable to bulk up filling.Pork dumpling: likely the same filling as pork buns, but they taste much better as dumplings. They come out juicy and tasty, although the dumpling skin didn't have the chew I expected.Chicken dumpling: dry and peppery. I wouldn't recommend. Could use a vegetable to add moisture to the filling.Beef and onion dumpling: really weird tasting for me. The beef was also dry and the onion tasted more similar to scallion than onion, not sure what was in the filling, but it was my least favorite despite the chicken being dry as well. Definitely would not recommend. All in all, doughs are not this restaurant's forte, but that kind of makes sense if they are more Szechuan themed. Maybe I'll try some other dishes here another time, but there are a lot of other restaurants, so maybe not.

Best Chinese food in Seattle. My favorite dishes are the spicy fish and boiled tofu beef. Placing an online order is easy, and the food is hot and ready when we go to pick up.

Love the Fresh Pepper Chicken, dumplings, and any of the other food I've ordered from here. Great family-size portions. Happy regular. :)

As of this review the new owners seem to have a cook who is following a more basic version of the old menu, with a few new dishes. Gone is the bamboo shoots and chili oil - probably not a big seller by a favorite here. Also gone was the pork with hot chili peppers (red or jalepeno) which was replaced with pork and bamboo shoots in a bland sauce that went well with the perfectly steamed rice. but lacked color with no peppers, cilantro, or r even the ubiquitous celery in sight. It felt like the bottom line and efficiency was cutting into what made the old place good....wontons in chili oil? Or wonton soup with chilli oil added? It seemed puritanical. The owners owe it to themselves to take a risk and punch up the menu.

Hearty, comforting Chinese food, with the best dumplings I've had in Seattle! I ordered delivery from this restaurant. I got the pork and chive dumplings as well as beef buns. The pork and chive dumplings were perfectly made. The beef buns were also yummy, but the filling was quite small. Not sure I'll order those again in the future but will definitely get the dumplings again! They also have a lot of entrees that looked delicious which I'll also have to try next time!

I finally stopped in to home taste to grab takeout and it was 100% worth it. I was lucky enough to catch the lunch special and ordered the sesame chicken with hot and sour soup, and chow mein plus an order of beef and onion potstickers because I felt feasty. If you order online you get a small discount on your first order, but the prices are already really reasonable. I'm a potsticker addict so my total was just under 20$ but the 11$ lunch special is more than enough for a meal plus a snack. The sesame chicken was yummy, moist and not overly sweet. Egg rolls were garlicky (yumm), but a little wet in the container (vent container or eat right away). The hot and sour soup was thick and a touch spicy without being overly pungent. Chow mein was surprisingly fresh tasting as veg was Cooked perfectly. The noodles themselves were slightly under seasoned, but since the sesame chicken was very saucy it all worked out. Also noteworthy, they give you the nice round chopsticks instead of the splintery ones. The best part: potstickers!! This is probably the best potsticker I've had in Seattle. They were juicy (I had no idea that juicy potstickers were what i so desperately needed), exceptionally flavorful, and a good balance of crispy fried and dough side. 4.5 stars would probably be the most appropriate rating but I'll round up.Side note: most staff speak only Chinese so don't go in there all blabby, enjoy!

Food was great, I'll probably try again.Low rating is due to the surly, customer-ignoring staff.
