Came here on a Saturday mid day. Chose the AYCE option which was $31 on Saturday. I was a bit sheepish about AYCE because other places weren't so hot. This place is amazing. the food is made to order not predone. The fired oysters were fat and juicy OMG super good. The cucumber salad is really good and decent portion size. We had the miso soup which was only passable. Won't order it again. The sashimi was really fresh. Had the salmon and the eel. The Dragon Eel roll was really good. It was our favorite lots of eel. The Philly roll was also decent. The sauce for the vegetable tempura was off. Not what I usually expect with tempura. It missed the sweet soy sauce flavor. So I wouldn't order that unless you don't care about the sauce.Had the calamari karaage. That was good but a bit tough. We didn't order ramen because I knew it would fill me up. But they looked great. We'll definitely coming back.

Visiting my son from California- he took us( my daughter and I) to have the AYCE sushi and ramen. I have to be honest we did not eat any ramen. The rolls/sushi/ sashimi were all very good especially the Spider roll and blue Dragon roll. We also enjoyed the fried oysters, sashimi salad. In regards to the sashimi- each person can have 5 pieces. Don't forget to also eat the sesame ball dessert. It was so good we got an extra order. Our server was very nice.

Overall, extremely average sushi considering AYCE. We wanted to venture and try somewhere new while we were in the DT Evanston area. We gave it a go and it was just okay. Solid pass on their ramen. That was beneath average. The meat included was extremely questionable! The sushi came out decent on a nice bridge rather than a boat. It wasn't bad and it also wasn't great. The flavor of the sushi was missing the umami flavors -relatively bland at the end of the day. Service was just okay as well. Considering the price and the amount, everything was all just okay. Everything pictured looks a lot better than it tastes! 1000% all hype.

Yuck. Just yuck. Wanted to like this place as there are no good all you can eat sushi places up north. Very nice open bright place. But the food was just bad. Driving home with a stomach ache. Started out with the house salad. Lettuce was crunchy and cold, but the dressing was not your usual ginger dressing. Not sure what this was. But there was salt all over the lettuce. Ridiculous. Gyoza was good. Cucumber salad was good. Rolls- we had several rolls with shrimp tempura inside. The shrimp tempura was so hard that you could barely bite through it. Tempura should be light and crispy, but this was a solid well done thick batter that was almost inedible. Slices of fish on top of the rolls were cut extremely thin and falling apart, and the scallops in specific were very very fishy. Also ordered a Ramen. Pretty good, but the giant slab of pork was inedible. Horrible flavor, tough, like chewing on a piece of wood. If this place is catering to Northwestern students on a budget, then I will assume it is fine for them. For all else, complete fail.

This was my first time here and the food was overall good I think the all you can eat is definitely worth it. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. It was very loud the day I went the were tables put together for a big party that had kids at it and it was really annoying and not very enjoyable to be there with all the noise. Food: chicken karaage was my least favorite I wasn't a fan of the batter and the texture/flavor was not what I expected. I really enjoyed my sushi rolls and the ramen was good for the most part it was basic and I added some additives (fish cakes (upcharge to add), corn and bean sprouts)

The cutest neighborhood spot! The AYCE is a great value at about $32/person so it makes sense to just do that instead of order separately. The paintings and decor are super cute! I had a raspberry lychee martini which I will absolutely be returning for. The nigiri was fresh, the rolls were delicious and came out super fast! Our top two favorites were the seaweed salad and yellowtail jalapeno.

We had just finished watching a short play on the Northwestern campus and were looking for a late dinner, but few places were still open. We arrived here just before 9:00, about half an hour before the posted closing time, but it was apparently that they were already winding down for the day since there were only a couple customers finishing their meals. The person who greeted us asked if we could possibly place our orders quickly, so that the kitchen staff could prepare our food and start cleaning up. Reasonable request, and she still gave us sufficient time to look over the menu. This place doesn't look like the typical Japanese restaurant; clearly it was a different kind of establishment in a former life. High ceiling with ornate tiles gives it an airy feel. The walls are brightly (almost garishly) decorated in Japanese themes. Certainly it feels like it caters to the younger crowd, as would be expected in a college town like Evanston. We ordered a few ramens, a pork bun, a yellowtail avocado maki, and takoyaki (octopus) balls. The yellowtail roll was a little small, as was the pork bun, but both were quite tasty. The ramens were also very good, and most importantly, they got the soft-boiled egg just right - not too runny, but not overcooked either. My only quibble with the ramen is that they were served in bowls that were too small. It was a little difficult to mix the ingredients around without splashing out of the bowl.Prices were on par with what we usually pay for ramen in the SF Bay area. In the end service was fine and we were allowed all the time we needed to finish our meal.

This place is amazing! On a rainy day this is the place you want to be. I didn't do the all you can eat but I wish I did because all the food was so fresh and delicious. The service was amazing and our waiter was so sweet. Loved the graphics and the ambiance. Would come back to visit next time I am in Chicago.

Had a really good time with 4 other friends for the all you can eat sushi deal. The sushi actually felt quite fresh and all the rolls were delicious. Despite being in a group with lots of hungry college students, we ordered everything we set our eyes on and the restaurant served up lots of great eats. The only ding was on the service, which seemed a bit hands-off. Overall, this was a surprisingly great find and will plan to go back.

The miso ramen and spicy ramen were so mid and don't buy the extra rib. The karage was mid. Service was fast. Area is an 8/10 cleanliness.
