I've heard nothing but awesome stuff about Hinar for a while and had it bookmarked. I was having a meh day and decided to treat myself to a sweet treat and matcha from Hinar and literally this place made my day. The matcha was so high quality and was so smooth and refreshing. They sweetened mine with brown sugar and it only made it feel better and honestly went beautifully with the cake that I got (Strawberries and Crème). The cake was so beautifully not too sweet, it was also gorgeous in physical looks. The flavors between the matcha and cake had me feeling like the rat in ratatouille where he's eating the fruit and cheese. Too delicious. There were only two people working and the seats were completely full so I would say to get here earlier rather than later if you're looking to study here or are in a rush. Folks are quite sweet and happy and I can imagine myself making a pit stop here again soon.

The gentleman helping us was so friendly and patient, he gave tips and recommendations and I'm glad I went with their most popular coffee drink it was delicious and had nice floral hints that were very subtle. Came here for the biscoff tres leches but it was sold out but the other desserts were unique and tasty.Ambiance. Check. Could be the most gorgeous cafe I've been to. Clean, unique, stunning, unbelievable.

We got the black sesame strawberry, lemon poppy seed, and a banana flavored cake. The ambience inside is perfect for a place to study. When you walk in it looks crowded but there is more space in the back including an hairdresser and florist working in the back as well. The cakes are super Instagram worthy. And too beautiful to even eat The black sesame strawberry and banana flavored cake were my favorite. The flavors were delicate and the cream was light and fluffy. The cakes weren't too sweet and tasted exactly like the flavor. The black sesame had a strong and nutty sesame flavor balanced with the strawberry. The banana cake tasted like banana bread and the lemon poppy was citrusy and refreshing.

Basque Cheesecake is great! Visiting from Houston and we specifically came here the basque cheesecake after googling "best basque cheesecake in san diego"! It didn't disappoint! We also tried the biscoff cheesecake which was also incredibly rich. We got everything for to go. Staff were friendly! Basque Cheesecake Basque Cheesecake

Amazing latte! I love the ice they use and the coffee flavor is strong and delicious. I got the orange blossom latte which was really nice (maybe a touch too syrupy for me at first but once the ice melted a little bit and I stirred it more it was delicious!) We also shared a black sesame strawberry cake, which was perfectly umami and lightly sweet! Loved it! Best dessert we've had in SD. Great aesthetics!! Everything was made out of clay and the cups were super cute. I would highly recommend you taking some time in the cafe rather than taking your items to-go. Also, loved the music they played! It seems like lots of people come here to work, as there are readily available plugs. Now to the service, it wasn't superb but keep in mind they seem understaffed with only two workers when I went, so it's understandable that things moved pretty slowly. They still greeted us warmly and helped us when we needed it! Please have some patience when trying out this spot! Highly recommend as a stop on your to-do list in the area!!

We dropped by in the afternoon to have a little coffee and sweet pastries. We were greeted immediately as we entered. The place is very modern, clean and had a comfortable feel to it. We ordered the Potato pepper phyllo, Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Cake, Biscoff Basque Cheesecake, Raspberry Basque Cheesecake, vanilla cappuccino and cold brew coffee. I was pleasantly surprised that the potato pepper phyllo was so delicious. My husband had the biscoff Basque Cheesecake and cold brew that he quickly devoured. We both enjoyed the raspberry basque cheesecake. The dark chocolate hazelnut cake was our least favorite, but still very good. We will have to come again next time we are in town and try some of the other delicious desserts.

Stopped at Hinar for dessert when we were in town and it is such a cute space! Very aesthetic and great for photos. Their cakes are all gorgeous and we tried the Banana Mousse and Lemon Poppy ($12 each). They also had latte options for around $7. Service was smooth, they take your order and bring it to your table if you're dining in. They also had more seating in the back. Cakes were very good and a pretty good size, though I think they are a bit overpriced. Dogs were also allowed, yay! Overall, a nice experience and I would recommend!

Lemon poppy seed cake was not to sweet well balance fluffy and fun to eat with the poppies. The orange blossom cappuccino was not the best I've had. Decor, music, and vibes were great. We got a great window table with an outlet. They had a great playlist playing. Not slow coffeehouse music but just enough energy to keep more chugging through some work.

This hole in the wall café was home to some very unique and appropriately instagram-worthy desserts! I'd had it on my list for a while, and finally made my way out with a friend on a Saturday night. Parking was unfortunately a nightmare, but once we arrived, we were greeted with a homey and surprisingly spacious café. The vibe and architecture was really unique, and there was plenty of seating, with both a front area, additional tables in the back, and an outdoor section. I was disappointed that they were sold out of many of the desserts when we arrived, but we were an hour from close, so I'd reccommend coming in the morning or early afternoon to make sure you can view the full menu. We got the White Chocolate Raspberry and Black Sesame cakes. They were a good size for the price point, and not so big that I felt like I was gorging myself! I preferred the White Chocolate one but was surprised it was the frosting, not the raspberry filling, that stole the show!
