Ok, so here's the thing.I used to live in Chula Vista, where I was in love with Himalayan Tandoori & Curry house. Legit the best of the best here in SD in my eyes, recommended it to everyone.10 months ago, I moved to East County. Every single place I have tried has left me sad. I didn't even want to give Yak & Yeti a shot, but they're right next to my job and on my way home, so one day I decided to say, "Whatever. I'm craving Himalayan. If I'm disappointed, I'm disappointed, and I'll just check another place off the list".And let me say, I never checked them off the list.My boyfriend and I order online almost once every week or two, it's been two months. They have a great deal on their app for $10 off that I use every time, so that's a big part of it. BUT GUYS. EAT HERE. I CANT STOP.Bf gets chicken tikka masala spice level hot, with a side of butter naan, I get the paneer tikka masala also spice level hot with rice, then we share garlic and cheese naan. We are addicted to their naan. Surprisingly, a LOT of places screw up cheese naan some how, but I can't get enough here.So last week, we were back in Chula visiting family, and since it was down the street, we decided to go back and get Tandoori & Curry house. I was excited, but come to find out... I actually love Yak & Yeti more. I never thought in a million years that Tadoori & Curry house could be replaced, but here we are. Bf mentioned he wishes his tikka from Y&Y would be more spicy, so we left a note online requesting it, and we got our ASSES KICKED by that heat. It was amazing. Call me a masochist but I was crying and smiling. My stomach was still hot the next morning and I was grateful.Never any disrespect to T&C house, they're my OGs and it is never a bad time to get them when I'm in the area. But when given the choice... it's a no brainer for me. Yak & Yeti has my heart. Our combined order usually comes to $40 after that coupon, and theres always half to save for later, so I count it as practically $10 for dinner tonight, $10 for dinner tomorrow. They don't skimp on portions either. For eating out in this economy, that is not bad at all. I always get it right after work to take home and I feel like it heals my heart after a stressful day.Staff is always polite and attentive. It's a cute little spot, looks like they do mainly take out orders at the time we're arriving, but someday I'll try eating in since they have a decent amount of seating and a relaxing ambiance.Someday I'll take pictures, I'm usually just too busy tearing that food up to remember. All that is to say, I will ride or die for this place.

The food was everything I was looking for good Indian. I had a place that I liked in La Jolla several years ago and haven't been able to find something on par, but this is my new go-to. The only reason why I took one star off is because there was no air conditioning. Other than that I will be going back for sure.

Their food is absolutely amazing. The portion sizes, the assembly, the flavor... all great. I've ordered from them two times now on door dash, and both times, the food was packaged to prevent spillage. Each wet dish was wrapped in Saran Wrap. My favorite dish is their chicken korma- it's huge, and the flavor is fantastic. It's a very creamy dish, with chunks of shredded coconut in it. The chicken is also very tender. I've never had an issue with it being dry. Their cheese cilantro naan is great as well- very garlicky and cheesy and it comes with about four large pieces. Their mango lassi is a good size as well. I can't speak to service and ambiance at this time because I haven't visited them in person yet... but I will soon!

Had lunch with family here and the food was very good. The restaurant was very clean as well. The service was fine, nothing outstanding, but not bad either. Order your food and get your food lol. I would come back.

Their food is great; best Indian food to order close to SDSU. Nice that you can get vegan curry. I recommend their lunch special if you are a fan of Indian food and need to get a fix often.

I've had this location bookmarked since pre-COVID times and recently went maybe in 01/2022 for dinner. I loved the ambiance. I love there's a big parking lot with street parking so that is not an issue. I came on a night where it was calm with just one other table. The waiter was very nice. They brought us each a small tasting of their lentil soup. OMG, it was delicious. It was the perfect amount and start to the meal. We also got the vegetable Samosas which were huge and also very tasty. I recommend those for starters. I Got the butter chicken with rice. Very hearty and yummy. My cousin got the Chicken Jalfreezy which has more veggies in that and that was also very tasty. I literally could not decided which was my favorite out of all of the dishes. The portions are huge so we obviously shared and still had leftovers to go.I came back on my actual BDAY with my family. This night was a busier night but service was still great; even with full tables and a line for to-go orders. Some of the items we ordered this night included:-Chicken Tandori with upgraded garlic naan: like a dry chicken over a bed of bell peppers almost like a fajita (4/5) -2 orders of Lamb biryani spice level 5: very flavorful, huge chunks of lamb, you get your money's worth and a huge portion we could've shared. I wish it was spicier so next time I will try a level 7 (5/5)-naan: simple, fresh and delicious (5/5)-cheese naan: sooooo good. OMG I will get this again (7/5)-Vegetable Samoasa-had it before will continue to get this lol (5/5)We got many other items like the dumplings and more curry-I just can't recall all the names. I was happy that my family enjoyed their meals. I was super excited that my boyfriend really liked it also. I've tried to take him to a few Indian restaurants but he was never really into them which meant I did not get to eat out with him at those restaurants often. Although this is Himalayan-it's similar to Indian food and I'm so happy I have a new spot where he can come with me and enjoy the meal as I prefer to eat out with a companion. Definitely recommend this restaurant and will be a regular here. Can't wait to try all of their items. They also have Vegetarian AND Vegan options :)

I think I've been coming here since around 2018 back when I was still working in the area. I used to visit during lunch break back when they still had lunch buffets serving up a variety of entrees (Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Curry, etc). The service back then was awesome and my coworkers always wanted to go back. Of course, lockdown and career changes have kept me away from this place.I revisited recently following a trip to Luna Video Games 2-3 blocks away. Decided that I needed some Chicken Vindaloo in my life and my partner wanted some Chicken Korma. We ordered it to take home. Wait time estimate was 20 minutes. I wasn't actively timing them. We also got garlic naan and it ended up being a tasty meal and a good value. The leftovers reheated well (rice and dishes were heated separately on plates with a lightly dampened paper towel over them).Just a quick note, while there does seem to be more than adequate parking, the building itself might be easy to drive past without GPS directions.

Interior is very nice. They have lots of sit down tables. You could definitely take a date here.Tried out their chicken korma. Friend got their chicken vindaloo, it was super spicy at medium, but they loved it/this is their fav spot for vindaloo. I was more of 3 star but friend gives them 5 so we settle on 4 stars overall.I wasn't a fan of the korma. Rice was good. Garlic naan was just okay, good price though. It was $18 per entree which is pretty pricey but at least we can get two meals out of it because they are very large portions. Both rice and curry containers were filled to the brim!Staff was friendly. Placed order quickly and food was ready before the promised time. They had tons of people coming in for to go orders, they are very popular!Parking lot is large and shared with other businesses. Road is pretty heavily trafficked so a bit tough with entry/exit during popular hours. The packaging for to go was very well done. Nice little box for the rice. They wrapped each curry with wrap to make sure nothing spilled out. Naan was kept in aluminum foil to retain heat. Everything was still piping hot after we got home. Def recommend to go, they do it right!
