As a foodie and cook, I'm always in search of good restaurants in San Diego especially, Indian and Nepali cuisine.This was my first time dining at Himalayan Grill at the Scripps Ranch location and the food was outstanding!! I was first introduced to Indian/Nepali cuisine in 2023 and fell in love with this type of food!! Our group ordered the following:-Butter chicken-Paneer chili-Chicken Tikka Masala-Lamb Vindaloo -Butter NaanYou will be asked the spice level you want for your dish from 1-5. I recommend 3 because if you order any higher than that, it's like eating at habanero level unless you want your food that spicy go for it!The food was so good I'm willing to drive 20 miles north to dine at this restaurant again!! The restaurant was clean and the service was good. There's only indoor seating and you get a free dessert when you check in on Yelp. Give it a try!Happy Yelping :)

First time here. Portions are substantial. Lunch specials looked good but we went for appetizers, entrees and beer. Free dessert with check inI had the Shrimp Vindallo #4 spicy. Easy to take heat. The ladies ordered Lamb Saag and Chicken Briyani #3 medium heat. All were delicious and portions were plentiful. Enough for another meal.

Lunch of Champions - Each lunch plate comes with two items plus basmati rice, naan, Nepalese salad and kheer rice pudding. I tried Chicken Tikka Masala, Chili Chicken, Chana Masala and Chicken Vindaloo. They were all very tasty I went back with my friends this past weekend. We had chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, lamb vandoloo and paneer chilli. They were rich and tasty as usual. The space was cozy and the service was great. Definitely recommend it.

Wrong shopping center to visit on a Friday at 11:45 am. Wow, the parking is a mad house. It's in the same center as trader Joe's and Breakfast Republic (and chuck e cheese). Good luck with parking!Their lunch was worth it, though. My table of friends and I all ordered the lunch special, which comes with two dishes, basmati rice, naan, a small portion of a chickpea salad, and a rice pudding dessert. I chose their daily chef's vegetarian special, which was a black lentil dish, and their veggie Korma. I enjoyed everything and finished everything! The service was good. Our waters were refilled at least once, which was nice because I get thirsty.The hallway next to the bathroom has some things they are storing, which didn't appear very organized or clean. The bathroom was clean, but the faucet needed a deep clean or replacement because it had some scum. The kiddie chairs were kept inside the bathroom.

We had tried the food from Himalayan Grill multiple times at parties and found them to be consistent in terms of taste and quality of food. So recently, stopped by for dining in. At the time we arrived, it was relatively empty, but the restaurant soon filled up.We started off with the paneer pakoras ( more kid friendly) and chicken sandheko (this had a nice kick). For our mains, we tried the Lamb Korma, Tandoori Mixed Grill and Lamb Biryani. All the dishes were delicious and we soon realized that there was way too much food, but the leftovers were great the next day as well.Service was courteous and prompt, can't wait to try other items from their menu.

We love their lunch specials! It's daily from 11-3pm and you get a lot of food. I always have extras for dinner because I can't finish it all. The people who work there are really nice and friendly too. We get asked many times if everything is good and they come by to refill our water cups often.

We haven't really been back here for over a year! It's so close to us and we should have it more because the food here is so delicious, plus their price is so reasonable. We went there on a Friday night, it's packed. Although they are slow, their service is still good. We are very satisfied with the foods we ordered, I had a vegetable coconut curry and my hubby had a chicken chilli, both are amazingly delicious! We will definitely come back more!

Paid by card. Himalayan Grill is located in the same plaza as Trader Joe's and Chuck E' Cheese and offers a lot of plaza parking. I went here on a weekday night for dinner with a party of 5 and was able to be seated right away. The restaurant was almost full.The table ordered vegetable samosas, chicken chow mein, papadum, butter chicken (spice level 2), and shrimp vindaloo (spice level 3). Everything was good! My favorites were the vegetable samosas and butter chicken. The shrimp vindaloo was spicy at level 3 and too sweet for my taste.Overall I'd recommend this place and would go back.
