Get a group together and Kiki with drinks and pizza at this laid back spot! HBC is a really laid back bar and restaurant in the hillcrest hub, very indoor/outdoor, perfect for large groups or a drink/ date with a friend. I love feeling at home in an LGBT community space! They have a great selection of cocktails, beer, and pizza, you can't go wrong! What I love most about the pizzas is the generous toppings! They are committed to each pizza really being unique in their flavors. Coochie Coochie Carnitas - 5/5 - Mexican taco style pizza, such a San Diego moment, very filling! Margherita Mary - 5/5 one of their lighter pizzas, a succulent bite with the tomato slice and cheese. Sweet Hot Pig - 5/5 Hawaiian style with a LIGHT kick Breadsticks - the dough is super good, taste just like the pizza crust, and the marinara sauce was bomb Caesar Salad - 4/5 enough for 3-4 ppl, nothing crazyCocktails are a step above normal bar style drinks, but not quite speciality craft speakeasy level. Lots of choices though, with their many Margaritas being my fav. Extensive beer list. You can definitely split a pizza amongst two big eaters, or even three. The servers here are all really funny and like to be silly and give you nicknames like "doll" "Jan" "Queen" "Diva" etc.

Came here last week with the family. My biggest compliment for this specific spot is the service. They are spot on with recommendations and being quick and efficient. They recommended many beers I enjoyed and the food is great. I recommend the wings! Great patio seating available if you are a dog lover. I'll be coming back.

Hillcrest Brewing Company is great for casual get togethers. It's not just a brewery. They have pizza, small bites, and cocktails. For food I tried the pretzel and hot wings. For the pretzel you can get mustard or beer cheese. Opted for the beer cheese but it was really just queso. Odd but good! The pretzel is a good serving for 1 person, usually they're really big. Also got the hot wings which were standard. A little dry.Service is really friendly and pretty quick. It's in Hillcrest but parking isn't too difficult.

I LOVE Hillcrest Brewing! How fortunate to have a queer brewing company right in your neighborhood! I love their huge, shady porch and the beer chandelier inside. It's really a beautiful, cozy brewery. I've never experienced much of a wait here, I feel like every visit we get seated right away, The staff are all so lovely. Of course the beer is great, but they have a ton of cider options which is more rare. They also have a food menu with a ton of tasty options! I love the Chester Cheeseburger pizza, it keeps me coming back for sure.

Hillcrest Brewing Company is our go to spot to catch the games while having adult beverages. The Inside = High ceilings and a lot of wood. Large sectioned big screen TV on the wall to catch the games. There is also a nice outdoor area where dogs are welcome (long as they act right :) )The Service = Good. Servers are super friendly and attentive. The bartenders are also great. The Food = Good. My go to pizzas are the Meatpacker and Hoochie Coochie. If you don't like soggy limp crust, I do suggest to request your pizza "well-done". The wings fell a little short for me as they are baked. The sauces are good but I miss the fried goodness. The chopped salad is my go to and I total lay recommend adding carnitas to it :)Welp! Onto the next!

I had been here a couple years ago and left unsatisfied at that time with the food, service, etc. Just recently I went on "Taste of Hillcrest" and this was on the tasting map. Stopped by and was told "come by on Mondays, we have $1 chicken wings with happy hour." So I did and regret it.I stopped by on a Monday and asked about the HH. I was told there were pizza slices for 3 bucks, some drinks and that wings price on HH started at 6:00 (not HH as I was told). So I gave the pizza a try and a couple glasses of sauvignon blanc (at HH prices although price was no where to be found)I ordered two slices of sausage and pepperoni. The pizza arrived with a nice thin crust with baked in pepperoni and some dried up sausage pieces thrown on the top. Hadn't really experienced this type of pizza before and glad I hadn't. Had they left off the "sausage" it would have been a decent pizza, however the joke of sausage ruined the whole thing. So much for the HH pizza. After I drank the two rather small glasses of the sauv blanc I asked for the bill.I then understood why they didn't advertise HH prices. $9.25 per glass for the HH wine (HH ???) I then immediately knew why I hadn't returned in two years. Conclusion: Tired food, Boring music (70s and 80s), Boring bartenders, Boring ambience and crowd. NEVER AGAIN
