High Tide Cafe

Limited menu and spotty service during the lunch time rush (I received a different smoothie than the one I ordered and witnessed more mix-ups among other patrons as well), but the food is good and the space bright and airy, so an easy choice if you're working in or happen to be visiting the UCSD Health Campus.I asked for a Bonsai Smoothie (açaí, strawberry, banana, almond milk) and instead was given Berry Mojito (strawberry, blueberry, banana, mint, almond milk), but it was still tasty. No complaints about my Poke Bowl (ahi tuna, seaweed salad, sweet onion, cucumber, furikake, crispy wontons, poke sauce, spicy mayo) - I chose mixed greens instead of white rice as the base - which was fresh and well-portioned.

Cutest cafe in a gorgeous building in the UCSD Health area. They use Bird Rock coffee which is great. Very standard and inside a sterile (but gorgeous) building so I wouldn't go unless you're in the area and need coffee or want a new place to study! I got an iced lavender macchiato and it was ok. The coffee tasted a bit like the end of the coffee pot type coffee and it was very milky. The burritos are big and seem good though so i'll probably come back for one!

The newest food option on UCSD medical campus!I was on a walk during my lunch break recently and I came across high tide cafe. I tried a peppermint mocha and it was so good, I had to come back and try the food. My second time here, I tried the tuna melt sandwich. This was one of the best tuna sandwiches I've ever had! And it was huge! Enough for 2 people to split. Thick, crusty, sourdough bread. Perfectly seasoned tuna filling and some tomatoes. This was amazing. The only thing missing was some spice! Some pickled jalapeños on this sandwich would have me coming here everyday. The potato chips on the side were incredible. They make them in house! And yes, I definitely added some chips to my sandwich. They have an A+ condiment section that I have to mention. Ranch, balsamic dressing, Dijon mustard, really great options. Please add some sriracha to this! Ordering here gets kind of tricky. I've tried ordering online multiple times, but it doesn't seem to always work. When calling, it's a cellphone number of someone who calls the cafe to place the order. This place definitely needs its own phone line. I hope this changes in the future. Overall, this is the coolest new spot on campus for lunch. Trying a burger next!

Well the bad attitude is a start; you got one lady playing with the cashiers hair while I order...ummm no thank you...the last time I got food here the coffee was crap...and they had a bad attitude then too...

I used to like it under the 'old' management, but since then the service, has dramatically gone downhill.. about 3 years ago.

Great choices for fresh salads and snacks. They bake cookies daily too! Plus the hot food is nice option to pair with your salad.They cater too! Totally recommend putting together a menu for your next meeting/ gathering or study session.

Excellent service and a great environment. Lots of open air and convenient in and out at UCSD campus. Try the chilaquiles.

This little cafe has the best customer service, great quality local coffee from Bird Rock Coffee, and a great selection for a quick lunch bite. My favorite item is the veggie breakfast burrito. Love the ocean theme, right on point for San Diego!

I used to like coming here but just recently I was told I couldn't use cash because the cashier already counted her money before closing? The cooks in the back were more accommodating and said I might have exact change, I even let the cashier know that I'm ok with not getting change back. She pretty much yelled at me and said NO, do you understand I just counted my drawer. AWEFUL customer service. It's always the same person at the register.

High Tide Cafe has an amazing selection of salads, sandwiches and soups and terrific prices as well! The atrium and patio outside of the cafe are gorgeous places to sit for lunch. My favorite salad is the Mediterranean Salad featuring feta cheese, Greek olives, hummus and pita bread - yum!!
