When you walk in, it's such a chill night life vibe. There's neon lights everywhere, and the music is awesome. On weekends, one of the owners sings live, who is incredibly adorable. How you order - scan the QR code at the table, and it'll take you to the website to order and pay, and the wait staff will bring you the food. There's such a huge selection of all types of dishes. Anything from sheep testicle to chicken feet to mussels and scallops. The majority of it is BBQ skewers, with a dry rub. Some items are marked as spicy, others aren't, but if you're spice averse, I dont recommend the skewers. If you like it (like I do), try everything. I highly recommend the tendon, I think I ended up ordering 4 orders of this dish. The staff noticed us singing along to some of the Taylor Swift songs and making fools of ourselves at our table, so they turned up the volume a little and played similar songs and were grinning from ear to ear. We could tell they like people enjoying themselves, and their delicious food. This is my new favorite Chinese BBQ place now!

This is a great spot for chinese skewers! We got a bunch of skewers from their popular items section on the menu (which is a qr code) and they were all really yummy. Some of the notable ones were chicken cartilage, beef tendon, and traditional lamb. I also liked the pork belly wrapped around enoki mushroom skewer. It is a little slow for skewers to come out since it was just one waitress working so you do have to wait a bit. We also ordered their fried rice which was pretty good and worked well to absorb the soupy enoki mushroom foil dish we ordered. I wish they had white rice but sadly they don't.I'm definitely coming back to try their other items! Their menu had a bunch of stuff I'm interested in and the flavors were all really good. It totally hit the spot.

Interesting atmosphere with video projected on walls, gives a feeling of nightclub that serves small bites. Service was extremely efficient and fast.Unfortunately the food is where my interest started declining. We ordered a variety of skewers (quail egg, lamb, chicken skin, pork belly with enoki), and they all had an identical cumin spice profile that I tired of quite quickly. We also ordered the sausage pancake which was surprisingly good with a nice chew on the noodle. The fried rice was flavorful. A spicy and sour beef noodle soup was only slightly spicy and slightly sour, but the addition of whole peanuts floating around in it seemed very out of place. Finally the fried scallops were a hot mess, with lots of bean thread noodle and a very overcooked, chewy scallop. Note: If you like anything remotely spicy, go for the max spice level. We went for the "spicy" instead of very spicy level for most of the dishes and they were probably a 3.5 on a scale of 1-10 on spiciness. I cannot recommend this place for food. Might be fun as a Chinese Karaoke joint late at night, but definitely don't order food without having some alcohol first.

We came back to try more skewers, and it was another great experience dining at here. We also saw the live music performance this time, the singer sang really nice and created a nice atmosphere. The foods here are delicious as before. This time, I would like to recommend their vegi salad, it is very authentic! The service is so fast and friendly! Very good place to eat authentic Chinese barbecue.

An amazing spot for Chinese BBQ skewers, something that isn't super common in this area! Definitely bring your friends and family to try out as many different skewers as you can!- PARKING -The spots in this plaza are a bit tight, but there are a decent amount of spaces available. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT -The interior has some cool projected screens across the walls, some hype decoration statues, and also a karaoke area in the back corner. Service was outstanding from start to finish during our meal! Each table has a tray where they will deliver your skewers on, as well as a skewer collector bin on the table. They bring out skewers fairly quickly, with some breaks inbetween to allow you to enjoy them as fresh as you can. Live shows on Fridays and Saturdays 6:30pm - 9:30pm! Karaoke is available after 10pm!- FOOD -Skewers come in a variety of amounts and you can order them from non spicy to spicy, which is nice in case your table has different tolerances! Some favorites include:- Beef Rib- Chicken Wing- Beef and Enoki- Fried Quail Egg- Lean MeatWe also enjoyed some non skewer dishes like:- Tin Foil Enoki Mushrooms- Oysters- Pancake with Sausage- Chow Mein- Dumplings- OVERALL -A really delicious meal, and I'm definitely bringing more friends the next time I come in because there's so much I still want to try!!!

Hi Guest Music and BBQ is a spot that brings together delicious food, karaoke fun, and a relaxed vibe!First, let's start with the positives. The food here is undeniably yummy. The highlight of the menu for me was the lamb skewer--absolutely mouth-watering and cooked to perfection. If you're a fan of flavorful, tender meat, this is a must-try.The ambiance is another bonus point. The place has a chill and relaxed vibe, making it a great spot to hang out with friends, enjoy some music, and maybe even take a turn at the karaoke mic. Speaking of which, the karaoke is a great addition, adding a fun, interactive element to your dining experience. However, there are a couple of drawbacks that can't be overlooked. For one, they don't offer pitchers or beer towers. This was a bit of a letdown, especially for groups looking to share and enjoy their drinks together :(In conclusion, Hi Guest Music and BBQ has a lot going for it with its delicious food, especially the lamb skewer, and its relaxed, fun ambiance. However, the lack of pitchers is a notable downside. It's a solid spot, but there's room for improvement.

Unfortunately, the previous business could not survive in this suite at the Liberty Park Plaza in Clairemont as the original concept of Uyghur cuisine cannot be found anywhere else in town. Hi Guest Music BBQ recently opened with a complete revamp of the interior which now has a futuristic, outer space decor. Neon lighting and holograms were very prevalent. There was a small stage in the back for karaoke and/or live music performances. The dining capacity was somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 seats.Ordering was done online via a QR code at each table. Sichuan-style BBQ skewers were the featured menu offerings. If grilled items are not your thing, then other categories include soups, cold dishes, fried items, casseroles, noodles, vermicelli, and fried rice. Think snacks and street food as the theme. The electronic order form allowed you to adjust the spice level, and I selected either mild spicy or no spicy for my below picks. Each was served as three or four pieces on three skewers except the scallop.* Original Lamb* Pork Belly w/Enoki Mushroom* Fish Tofu* Beef Belly* ScallopDespite asking for no spicy on a couple of the choices, there was still plenty of seasoning on the protein. Mild spicy was already sufficient for my palate. You should have an iron stomach if extra spicy is how you want your skewers flavored. The lamb and fish tofu were my favorites. The scallop was a disappointment because I was not aware that this was going to be four shells cooked under a broiler. I assumed the scallops would be served on skewers like the others. Not only were baby size scallops used, but they were covered by vermicelli and garlic. It was certainly not worth the price of $10.99.I did not indulge in the other food categories. In hindsight, I should have diversified and ordered fewer skewers and either a noodle or rice dish. The service from the waitstaff was adequate as multiple servers took care of my table. The online system was not capable of checking out so you had to ask for a check from a server and pay the traditional way. My dining experience at Hi Guest Music BBQ was between a three star and four star level.
