Hero Coffee & Bagel Bar

Going for a walk; Grabbing a coffee and a bagel; Enjoying these treats under a shady tree in Lincoln Park: These are a few of my favorite things and exactly why I love where I live. Their coffee is really good and the bagel sandwiches are very satisfying. The bacon is a bit fatty for my taste, but I really enjoyed the sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel!

Decent spot for a bagel in a city not known for bagels. Having had better bagels elsewhere in Chicago I was not super impressed as the eggs and bacon didn't seem super fresh but it got the job done. Definitely stick with the classics here!

They only take credit cards but this place is awesome. The service is excellent, friendly and upbeat. Coffee was delicious. I wanted to try the bagels but I just wasn't hungry. Their music is cool. The place is clean and comfortable. I will come back again soon!

I cone here a lot. Its our neighborhood go to spot to walk to on the weekends or days off. They always play solid music. Its on the loud side wirh the music and hustle of the shop so if you can't compartmentalize or don't have noise canceling headphones and you're trying to study this wouldn't be the spot for you. I love the coffee here! I like it with that slight bitter singe so if you like solid coffee I'd recommend it for you!Bagels are hella delicious no matter if you're a plane Jane or like an everything or jalapeño cheddar you'll be happy. Their breakfast bagel sandwiches are hella solid. I personally mix and match the veggie with egg and cheese. Its a little more expensive but the best way for me to get the fresh veggies with the hearty egg and cheese flavor. My roommate got the smooth criminal for the first time and although it looks a little sad in the photo...she loved it. Its for the more sophisticated pallets. Tangy goat cheese, sweet fig jam, and spicy with the Sriracha. Ps service here is dope. They even asked of my name was spelled with a H or not. Which is rare.

Awesome spot for a quick snack and some coffee!Coffee here is Amazinggg! The vibe is great here! It usually gets packed during the weekends.I love their Fig bagel and the latte! I love this coffee shop! It's in a nice location for a lot of people who live a few blocks away from the Broadway strip since it's the only coffee shop in for a few blocks depending on where you live. Sometimes there's a line, but usually it's pretty quick. They're occasionally out of items but again usually have what you want. Staffs super friendly. Favorite items are-Lemonade 8/10- I add their lavender syrup which is amazing 100/10 (I add it to the cold brew as well)Smooth criminal sandwich- 10/10Pumpkin pie latte 8.5/10Cold brew- 10/10

I don't know why I don't come here more often! Drinks are perfect, staff is friendly, music choice is EXCELLENT (although I am a bit biased) and the vibes are always good. Love this place!

I've been coming to Hero Coffee (at this and other locations) for years and was surprised I hadn't left a review yet. This coffee shop not only has phenomenal coffee and specialty lattes, but their pastries and bagel sandwiches are delightful. My go-to drink is either an iced lavender latte or the seasonal beverage. My bagel of choice is their Smooth Criminal, which has changed names over the years but is delicious - goat cheese, egg, sriracha jam, basil, on a bagel.The pricing is on the higher end of average - a fancy latte + bagel sandwich will cost $16-17. But the quality is worth the splurge. This particular location has plenty of seating for working, studying, or meeting with friends. A few downsides: not much parking and sometimes there can be quite a line (and wait for your food/beverage). If you're in a hurry, you may want to order in advance on the Ritual app.

A favorite local coffee spot! Hero coffee sits about a block away from my apartment, so convenience is key. The cold brew is delicious and many different options of flavor shots and milk available. I have ordered both in person and pick up. Sometimes the pickup option is temporarily paused because they're busy, but even if I order in person - staff is friendly and efficient. Bagel sandwiches are great, nothing over the top and extravagant, but just right. Some of my favorites are the usual suspect, smooth criminal and hippie sandwich. You have a choice of plain, everything, jalapeño cheddar or wheat bagel I believe. Hero offers assorted pastries as well, including vegan options. The coffee shop has a handful of tables to sit and eat/work/converse with friends etc. they have a station for ice water, extra creamer/sugar. They are dog friendly too:)

I got an everything bagel with egg and cheese and it was pretty good! I also added a pumpkin pie latte to my order and it was good, not too sweet They were so quick to give me my order to go!
