I love this park however don't understand why the city doesn't manage the homeless people here. Where I normally play with my Doug I couldn't it was trash everywhere. And a homeless guy was destroying the tennis net. The same issue with the other park on Sahara and eastern, it's like affordable living (free) for homeless there and they have installed areas awe kitchen bathroom etc unless you to in the dog park there you shouldn't come close to that park

Nice park, I love it but some of the teenagers at the skating area constantly smoke marihuana and stinks up the area where the playground for kids is and the there is never a security, cops or the parents of those teenagers that very well look under age. So there are minors doing drugs and no authorities or parents around, last but not least there were also 2 cars that just pull over to smoke marihuana while in their vehicle and took off after getting high, again no security or any kind of authority around, they are killing this pak

This review is solely on the festival held on Nov 1st and 2nd. I've come here every year for the Life in Death Festival for the past 3 years. What a little gem tucked away on Desert Inn and McLeod. I love the fact that it's free to enter! I've been to other Dia De Los Muertos events around the city and they charge around $10-20 a person to enter. So big plus! I love the layout so if you have strollers or wheelchairs it's very easy to maneuver around even with the crowd. The center does such an amazing job on putting this together and it's something I look forward to. There are always performances on the main stage, beautiful alters, crafts, and of course delicious food that I over indulge in! Also, in the main building there are workshops for the kids that correspond to the event. Informative and fun!Parking can be a little crazy so prepare to either walk or get there early because you won't find anything close. I will admit it's a little crazy trying to cross the street because no one stops in the crosswalk! I wish they had atleast one patrol car there to keep the crazy drivers in line. I went this past weekend and was almost hit 2 times.

Small and Quiet Park.We drove past it several times before finally checking it out. I think the skate park always hindered me. But it is never busy, seems to be frequented by the same people. We normally go the same time every Saturday morning. It's the perfect place to take my son for some playground fun and then he run around in the water sprinklers. It's always clean and has a huge grassy area. There are a few BBQ pits in different areas, so I love that they are spread out. They also offer basketball courts and a "workout" area. I have only gone inside the community center once and the staff was very helpful. Only wished they offered toddler classes as well.

I came to the WInchester Park and Cultural Center last night to see a performance of Leonard Bernstein's "Trouble In Tahiti" opera. There is plenty of parking in front of the Cultural Center and the walkway goes from two areas of the parking lot to the entrance.Once inside, the theatre is to the right. In the hallway before the doors, there's a small art gallery space that has exhibitions. I was early so I took some time to check it out last night. A strange display is there now.The theatre opened and since it was open seating, I could sit either on chairs on the floor arranged in am semi-circle facing the stage or I could sit on one of the theatre style chairs in the rear section. I opted for the rear section. It's a proscenium stage that appears to be fairly large. For last night's show, the small group playing music were in an area in front of the stage. The bass stuck up high enough sometimes that for a moment or two, one of the characters was blocked by the bass. I could have moved but it wasn't necessary. The theatre has a good set of lights for the productions done here and the seating was comfortable. I am so glad that the Clark County added performance spaces to many of the parks and recreation areas. This adds to the places where our talented people can perform be it a play, a musical, or an opera.I'll be back in May for their last opera of the season.

On 12-13-16----I decided to check out this lil park and see what all it had to offer. It has a Playground Area, Basketball Court, Skate Park, Community Center, Theater, Pretty nice size BBQ Pit, Zen like setting towards the back of the park with lil benches along the trails/walkways and cute lil bridges. They offer tables around the BBQ pit and along the side of the park. I found a sign that said you can grow your own fruits and vegetables in the Winchester Community Garden. That's pretty cool. I would love to grow some stuff here. I'm gonna see what's good with that. They have a lot of tiled mosaics/artwork all around the park (I Loved it all) Foot traffic and wheelchairs ONLY-----are permitted on the trails. No bicycles, skate boards or recreational scooters are allowed. I had a really enjoyable time visiting and looking around. Lots of parking. Small and quiet park.

I can't say enough good things about the Winchester Cultural Center. The first and most obvious is that the Eastside is in dire need of its own cultural center and I feel bad that more people don't take advantage of it. They offer every single class imaginable, from painting, to yoga, karate, kids theater, etc. they also put on a bunch of shows including the children's theater, operas, dances, etc. I have to admit that I'm a bit biased because olive performed in a couple of the plays there. There really is a sense of community with all those involved but I can't help feel that they still need more exposure. I have been taking improv classes with Coach Adam and Coach Anna for about 6 months now and am super happy that I enrolled. I have learned a lot and we have so much fun in class. They are both responsible for the children's theater program, the Winchester Headliners. They just put on Romeo & Juliet and it was quite good. Definitely check it out if you are interested in taking a class or checking out the local arts and theater scene. I think it's super important to support this community center and hope to see it thrive in the future.

I usually keep my reviews to restaurants, bars, and hotels but I wanted to rate this park after finding it on Yelp. I needed a place to kill 90 mins or so before heading to the airport. I really wanted a break from the concrete parking lot that is most of Vegas so I looked for a park where maybe I could enjoy some greenery. Well, I found Winchester Park via Yelp and let me just say, "Cute Park"! I would be a regular if I lived close by. This park is nice for a picnic, laying on a blanket in the shade or sun, walking a dog or bringing kids out to play. Part of the park features a playground for kids. ...I stayed in the other part of the park. I guess there is a cultural center also. I give good marks to the municipality for having this park. I enjoyed the respite before heading to the airport for a lovely red-eye later in the evening out of Vegas. Two thumbs up for you, Winchester Park and Cultural Center.
