Westside Trains & Hobbies

I'm in Vegas for a couple days for work and decided to venture out to Westside trains to check it out based on previous reviews. I'm new to the hobby and my local store in Sacramento is full of grumpy old guys who may or may not be racist or at the very least not friendly.Westside is a cool little shop with tons of gems; Tina the owner is super easy to talk to and answered all my newbie questions and also gave me a ton of great advice. They have a ton of HO stuff and seemed like even more O and N scale as well. I spent almost an hour looking through the shop and the space next door (with a TON of great used stuff) and could've easily spent an hour more looking through stuff and talking to Tina. Pricing was great as well, picked up some accessories and HO rolling stock as well as a magazine for my flight back home. 10/10 would recommend to check out if you're into trains and I will definitely swing by any time in Vegas moving forward.

I've been on the road quite a lot and I can't say I've had the best luck stopping by train stores. They either have just some new inventory and no used inventory at all or they don't carry O gauge. I was more than a little tired, but decided to give Westside a chance rather than going back to the hotel and I am so glad I did. The new owner Tina Marie was just a pleasure to talk to and she clearly is a passionate enthusiast herself. Her current main floor had a great selection including Menards buildings which you'd be out of luck on in this area as the nearest Menards is in Wyoming as of this moment. She offered to let me see the other space that has more estate and used inventory but I had already found everything I was looking for and more in the main section of her shop. If all that wasn't enough, you aren't going to find better pricing, not even on the web. I am really happy I made the drive and I promise you that you will too, so it is worth working this place into your day. The conversation alone was worth the visit.

It's a very nice store with an extensive selection. I was told that they are in the process of expanding. The customer service was very good and very knowledgeable about the merchandise. I saw a vast array of items from box sets to individual pieces to allow customization.

Tina is so nice and knows her stuff! Nice place to buy and get repairs done.The shop is small but has 2 layouts in it. Those show you what can be done with train

Love the place. Lots of used and consignment stuff. You never know what you'll find. Of course there is all the current stuff and they will order anything for you that they don't have. Prices are competitive, and I love having a local business to patronize.

Nice store, really cool you are implementing slot cars. I think it should be open a tad later. Always great service, and good prices.

Tina is a amazing person, everytime I go into her shop, she always helps me and my wife. Especially when finding the right warhammer 40k models and paint! The prices are fair to market, and I never feel ripped off!

Terrific selection. Staff is very knowledgeable. Variety of types and guages. Clearance section has some great bargains.

We went in on our vacation from Memphis (always like to hit the train stores). Discovered a terrific store with very diverse selection, and a wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable owner! Chatted with Tina a bit, and I am confident that she will try to find that special out-of-stock item that you need! They handle estate and collection sales and have new and second hand products arriving regularly. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

This was my first visit to Westside and I was impressed with the owner's enthusiasm and knowledgeability. Her shop was well-stocked with expansion into a larger area adjacent to the main store. The shop caters to all scales from G to N, with trackage, Woodland scenery products and animated structures by Menards. The owner had that, "if we don't have it, we'll order it," attitude. I believe the owner said there were plans to build interactive displays to encourage customers to enjoy the fun of model railroading. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Thank you.
