We wanted steak so we made a reservation at West Texas Chophouse because it's close to us and we wanted to try something new. Walking in, I was a bit upset. I made a reservation, but got placed in the bar, and did not get the ambiance of the main dining room and the supposedly pretty tree. Our reservation was early, and the dining room (and the bar area) was mostly empty, so it was really frustrating to be sat in the bar. Especially since, not only were we placed in the bar, but we were placed right next to the takeout area, right past plenty of empty tables. Annoying. I was angry. Luckily, our server was really great, even if a bit green. He was super friendly and attentive, and he seemed to really want us to have a good experience. He made good recommendations and ensured that our preferences were held up (we have a no cilantro person in our midst). I think he was a little green because of small little things that I'm sure he'll get used to, like bringing the share plates BEFORE we get our appetizer/meal and replacing silverware that has been taken away. Our server was great, but I will admit the highlight was the food. I thought it was great, and absolutely worth the price. I would not call this place overpriced, and the value was really evident with the portion sizing. We ended up sharing a tomahawk and sides. The meat was cooked perfectly, had great flavor and was suuuuuper tender. The wedge salad was large with great flavor and the steak fries were beautifully crispy and just the right amount of salty. The real star here though was the bone marrow. I've never had bone marrow with tortillas, so I saved some bread for it. Turns out, corn tortillas and bone marrow are *chef's kiss,* and a combination I didn't know I loved until coming here. The peach bread pudding was also super good, moist and flavorful, and really large. The four of us almost didn't finish this dessert but it was so good we found a way to fit it in. LOL!!!And last but not least, at a place like this, I order cocktails but don't expect them to be that great. Shockingly enough, the cocktails are really good! Balanced and flavorful, with good strength to them. I was pleasantly surprised. The bill wasn't as large as I thought it was going to be, so we will definitely be back in to have the awesome food and drinks when the craving hits.

I'm fairly new to the Henderson area and went to this place before it was texas chop house.Needless to say I never went back.So when I saw that they changed I was hopeful. I got the bbq combo. $65Brisket, steak and ribs.I got it to go so didn't know what I was in for untill then. LolThe steak was ordered as medium rare and ended up like a piece of charcoal. I tried giving it to my dog and she refused to eat it. Smh.The ribs were ok but the salt level was way over the top. That was on everything by the way.I love Brisket but it was dry and crispy. Not good.We ordered the beans and thought they'd be like baked bean but were like soup.More water than actual substance. I called back to tell them and ask what happened. They said well we kept the cooks from the old place. Oh ok now that makes sense. I absolutely do not recommend this place at all.I will say that we waited at the bar and the waiter/bartender was a great guy and made really good drinks. Overall no. I won't be back.Good luck guys.

We had a reservation and had no issues when we showed up. Nancy was our server. She was great and attended to us amazingly. Great service. My husband's rib eye was cooked just how he liked it and was nice and hot. I highly recommend the rib eye chicharrones appetizer!My Caesar salad had a little too much dressing on it for my liking but still edible. Ambiance was cute - we sat on the bar side.

The good: The bread was phenomenal- freshly made and super soft. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Cute ambiance- a bit like a speak easy and nice decor.The bad: we waited a very long time for our meals. It was only two sirloin steaks and we waited about 30-40mins...and then they over cooked our steaks. We asked for medium and medium well. One was dry and the other was okay but fattier than expected and def charred too much on top. See pics Price was decent. But not worth the long wait.

This is our second time here. It's a great steakhouse at reasonable (non strip priced) rate. It's nice inside great lighting and decor. We had the crab stuffed jalapeños , sooooo good! The ribeye chicharone was fantastic, the steak cooked perfectly. The waitress was a little off but it wasn't bad , we had a really nice time! We will be back!

So trying something new doesn't always work out and that's ok. The food here is just not good. Unfortunately everything we ordered just tasted off. The house bread was fresh and tasted ok but we just didn't enjoy the rest. I've never not finished an order of burnt ends in my life and the soup was really bad. The best things we had were the two sides that came with the brisket. Corn and beans. The service was fine and the food was served very fast but there were only two other tables in the place, so that was to be expected. The pricing is very fair for Vegas standards but unfortunately the food just wasn't it for us. Too many other options in town to try.

Here again and tried a medium ribeye 16oz and it was cooked on point with lots of flavor with a nice cheesy side of Mac and cheese and a baked potato loaded .

Yes, yes, yes! Great steaks with even greater service. Our server Rene was amazing. She loves her job, loves making people feel welcome and is proud of the food they serve. It was our wedding week and Rene presented us with the largest piece of carrot cake I had ever seen. It tasted fantastic. All the steaks were cooked to order and I loved the char on the outside of my medium-rare Filet Mignon, it was truly perfect. Large asparagus stalks were tender and full of favor. I truly wish we had a restaurant like this in my neck of the woods. The dining area is very spacious and was perfect for having a conversation with little to no ambient noise. If and when I come back I will request Rene and if you come to the West Texas Steakhouse I highly recommend that you request Rene and tell her I said she makes the whole dining experience wonderful. Rene is an amazing server. She is very professional. and is the sweetest Women. Who ever is in charge you need to give this wonderful lady a raise. Her Ambiance is just so amazing. it's wonderful to find an amazing server like her. and the way she treated my 4 year old daughter was wonderful. The Fact that she asked my daughter to color her a picture so she can hang it up at the restaurant was wonderful. She definitely a reason why me and my ohana will come back.The food was good as well. the tastes of the steak was so good. Also was their appetizer. Hickory Smoked bacon. it's a little pricey for two pieces but it was good. Thank you rene for your wonderful serviceIf you want a great server. Go see Rene.she works Monday tuesday Friday saturday. you won't go wrong with her as your server
