Washing potatoes in Fountainbleu Las Vegas is an experience that's not as glamorous as the luxury hotel's dazzling offerings, but it does stand out in a quirky way. Located within the sprawling property, the process itself is more about novelty than practicality. The setting is certainly upscale, but the activity of washing potatoes is as ordinary as it gets -- unless, of course, you find yourself in a chic kitchen or culinary space, surrounded by the indulgent aura of Las Vegas' luxury. It's a fun experience that may spark curiosity or amusement, especially for anyone looking for a break from the usual extravagance that Vegas is known for.Service was top notch and portions are large. Definitely take some friend to share!

I was stoked to try the Michelin-starred Washing Potato at the Fontainebleau Casino Resort hotel. We snagged a reservation for 4 in the open dining room, which is pretty crammed up but nicely decorated with an open kitchen concept. I wanted to go to Din Tai Fung but decided to check out Washing Potato instead, and it was a great alternative! We got several dim sum dishes, and my friend even got the chicken feet, which were prepared traditionally. My favorite dish was the beef chow fun, as it was very wok-tasting and cooked perfectly. For smaller plates, I loved the xiao long bao, cucumber salad, and the shumai. The squash dumplings were just okay, and the service was good but not stellar. All in all, I gave it 4 stars because while the dishes had great flavor, they were smaller portions for a higher price... but hey, that's Vegas baby :)

Went primarily for dim sum dishes when they opened at 11am. The ambience is modern and the service was excellent. If you're craving dim sum and don't want to go to one of the many other dim sum places off strip or to Tim Ho Wan at the Palm or Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast then you should definitely try Washing Potato. Everything was solid. Prices are much higher than other dim sum places but you're at Fontainebleau so it's expected.

I am from Bay area but was still impressed by the food here. BBQ pork pineapple bun was fantastic & better than most in Bay area, great crust & had generous delish fillings: beef chow fun was great with QQ noodle texture & good wokhei, 1 piece of beef was excessively salty but others were fine; egg tart was not overly sweet, thin crust & melted in the mouth. BBQ pork (charsiu) & HK milk tea were just ok but not spectacularLove the ambiance & fast friendly service

The restaurant is beautiful and the service was great. I can see all of the lights that could transform this restaurant into a venue that feels entirely different, and during a normal dinner service it had a nice, elevated ambiance. The food was good. We got some favorite staples including Har gow, shumai and char siu steamed bao. All of these were tasty and ranked with the expectations I have for good dim sum. The salt and pepper shrimp was tasty, and COVERED in a fried garlic mixture you could eat spoonfuls of (if you don't mind torturing the people you're hanging out for the rest of the night).

100/10Washing Potato has to be one of my favorite restaurants in Vegas. From Asian comfort food favorites like Congee to perfectly spiced meats like the Sichuan Beef, there's a lot of different and delicious options available at Washing Potato. Like many restaurants in Vegas there's lights, music, and it's a little dark (even during the lunch hour), but don't let those things dissuade you from coming here to eat.The service was impeccable. We ordered a lot of food for just two people but I'm so glad that we did because we got to try a little bit of everything at the Washing Potato.Small side note: the lemon tea was very strong with some bitter notes--and I loved it, however, it may not be everyone's "cup of tea".

Giving it a 2 ONLY because the hostess was kind.Last night I took my sister here for her birthday. I made the reservation three days ago. I've been once before with friends & the food was amazing, service was great so I thought hey my sisters never been here before I'll take her! What a mistake that was. WHAT A LET DOWN. Terrible. DO NOT SIT WITH CINDY.At first service was well, my sister really enjoyed the atmosphere, started off with drinks which were delivered fast & Cindy seemed very kind, urgent & efficient. Food was good, just good. The chili sauce they give was SUPER GOOD. At end of our meal, she didn't offer any dessert AT all, just gave us the bill. Kind of weird considering I booked it with a note saying it was for a birthday celebration. I don't expect a dessert or anything but just an acknowledgement would've been great! The fact out of all the amazing restaurants on the strip we chose to go THERE is the most upsetting part. I'd assume as a normal person who doesn't even like birthdays a simple acknowledgment is kind, but no NADA. Nothing!!! At all!!!!!!! So I'm thinking- ok maybe the birthday note didn't save when I booked the reservation?? Maybe it was my fault, as I was extremely disappointed so I took it upon myself to get up & go to the host stand to see if it was in fact my fault & I couldn't blame Cindy! Nope, hostess confirmed without even looking at her screen that it was noted on the reservation that we were celebrating my sisters birthday. ok, maybe she forgot or the message wasn't relayed to her? Nope hostess further explained THEY HIGHLIGHT it on the paper they hand to server. WOWWWWWW not only did she KNOW she truly didn't care- which is fine I get it. But wow very very disappointed.Hostess was kind enough to pack it to go- which was such a nice gesture but cmon who wants their birthday dessert TO GO?!!!!!! Especially ice cream. Again very nice of hostess, very thoughtful & it truly is the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. We were bar & restaurant hopping so we didn't want to carry a bag around all night, so I told my sister just have a little bite now before we go on with our night. She opened up the bag & the Hostess even included a CANDLE! How sweet!!!!! Mind you, this whole time we're SITTING right next to the POS where Cindy is, she's WATCHING us do that STILL no acknowledgement- at this point obviously we were over it. Not sure if it's because we're young? Or just a two top so we didn't have a crazy large tab? That maybe was the reason She was so rude to us, but the funniest part is my sister wanted to blow out a candle & also take some pics so she asked the server at the POS for a lighter surely enough it was CINDY. She lit the candle & never said HAPPY BIRTHDAY LMAOOOOOO Never coming back. Wish I got the hostess name because you could tell she actually cared, and felt my disappointment. I respect her honesty & her kind gesture.

Casual Chinese Dimsum eatery in Fontainebleau. It's open concept so you can see how the noodles and wrappers are all fresh. Very attentive staff which is the Vegas standard but this hotel and it's restaurants really showcase hospitality. Everything tasted made to order, which means the quality was abundant. The portions are not the traditional family style equivalent so if you're hungry, order more!
