Diane and I met friends to eat in the Durango Casino's food hall. We split up to select individual choices for dinner. Diane opted for a plain Just For You B0urger from Irv's Burgers. She liked the slice of melted American Cheese on top of the quarter-pound burger, and the Sesame Seed Bun, but was dissatisfied with the well done beef patty inside. I, on the other hand, fully enjoyed my foot-long The Lester Diamond pastrami sandwich with just enough yellow mustard slicked on the interior folds of the baguette, and pieces of pickle to join with the lean pastrami nestled inside. My order of French Fries mixed with Gravy and topped by Melted Mozzarella Cheese was an ideal accompaniment that I could barely finish in one sitting. The food I consumed was excellent, but it was rather inconvenient to get situated at a table and then return to the cash register after underestimating how long it might take to fulfill the order. And, rather than purchase a can of diet soda at Uncle Paulie's, I went to the bar and obtained a Diet Pepsi in a plastic cup. I expected to pay for this drink but the bartendress would only accept a cash tip.I need to return soon to Durango Casino's food hall to sample one or two of Uncle Paulie's cold subs that beckon, and totally different food offerings from other vendors. There is much territory left to explore here.

Stopped by Uncle Paulie's for a quick bite and grabbed a BLT with fries and a drink. After tip, it came out to about $25.The good: The fries are delicious--crispy, well-seasoned, and definitely a highlight. The sandwich itself is tasty, with soft sourdough that has crisp edges from a light toasting. The not-so-good: The bacon ratio is disappointing. For the price, I expected a heartier portion, but what I got was around 6-9 small strips, similar to those Hormel ready-to-eat microwave bacon pieces. While the flavor was fine, it needed at least double the amount to feel substantial. I get that it's in a casino, but adding even 10 more strips would've made it feel worth the cost.Overall, it's a solid spot, but if you're ordering any sandwich, pay the upcharge if any for extra meat.

The lunch sandwiches here are fine. I had the tuna sandwich on sourdough with onions. The sandwich was large and the tuna tasted fresh. The sandwich bread itself was a little too soft for me. I like my bread a bit more crunchy. It is located in the busy Durango food court. During lunch time, it can be a crowded and loud atmosphere. Again, for lunch, this place is fine. Uncle Paulie's certainly beats Subway sandwiches.

I was extremely hyped to try this place. The chicken parm was about $18 and the chicken was dry and super thin (I know cutlets are the way it's supposed to be) but I mean paper thin is wild how you even do that . Didn't have enough sauce on the sandwhich but it was all over the wrapper. Could've used more cheese, $18 for that is wild if it was cheaper I wouldn't even complain. The BLT was good according to my mate but also not worth the price tag. All said n done I'll try it again , the service was good though super quick and polite

Part of the popular 'Eat Your Heart Out' food hall in the Durango Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, Uncle Paulie's is the 4th location of a NY-style deli originally started in LA. I've not had the opportunity to try their sandwiches yet, so was glad to order a classic Italian ($19) for our sampling lunch on a Friday afternoon. The food hall does not support a pager or messaging system, so you basically have to wait around the vendor to get your food. In our case, we had other things to order and came back to Uncle Paulie's 15 minutes later. It seemed like they had staffing issues: the food hadn't been started yet. When this was realized, the manager/cashier stopped what he was doing to focus on making the sandwich (which still took a bit of time since the meat and cheese had to be hand sliced). The sandwich was beautifully and tightly wrapped in butcher paper and had plenty of heft.I was disappointed when I ate the sandwich.Positives: very thinly sliced meat and cheeses, piled generously. Very finely (almost shaved) iceburg lettuce. Use of pickled roasted peppers. Cons: the bread, it reminds me of what you get at a grocery store, hefty, pretty tasteless, would be fine for a hamburger but not for a cold cut sub. It's hard to describe how I like my bread for a sub, but have decided that if I would eat multiple servings of it with room temperature European butter as part of a bread basket, I would love it as a base for a sub. But this tasted more like sesame white bread or bun that you would pick up from the grocery store. The sandwich as a whole was also very dry...could have used more dressing.I ended up eating about a fourth of the sandwich, and saved the rest for later. I did end up eating the rest at home, almost 3 days later, and was able to dress it up to my tastes using mayo, red wine vinegar and the removal of the underside bread (which had gotten pretty slimy from the wet lettuce and peppers). It tasted pretty good, and confirmed that quality meats and cheeses were used.

My husband and I decided to try Uncle Paulie's for dinner. Unlike the first week of Grand Opening, there was no wait/line to order our food. We decided to get their Italian sandwich to share.Their Italian sandwich is good and they provide a good amount of filling. However, their bread was way too thick/dense. We found ourselves tasting more of the bread than the filling at some points in our meal. I think as far as sandwiches go, it was OK. However, when I think about the price of their sandwich and the options we have in the valley, I'm not sure if they would be one of our top choices. Not a bad option if you have dining credits though!

I walked around Eat Your Heart Out the food hall in Durango Station looking for lunch options. I got a nice table between the two establishments that my husband and I chose. It was very clean and bright. I decided on Uncle Paulie's because they had gluten free bread. I was so excited to be able to order The Ace which is pastrami with swiss and slaw. Steven was working the counter and was super nice. Unfortunately it was the worst pastrami sandwich I've ever had. I understand the sandwich will be a little more dry than normal because of the gluten free bread but the entire sandwich was so dry that I couldn't eat it.

I was craving a chicken parm sandwich so I dropped by. The person that took my order was very nice. The food was a disappointment. When I think of chicken parm, I picture soft Italian bread (preferably with sesame seeds!). This sandwich came on a thin, crusty roll, but it was OK. The cutlets were rubbery and flavorless. There was cheese present, but it was the same texture as the chicken. They kind of melded into one entity. No cheese pull or chew. The sauce was barely detectable. It was like eating a wet paper towel. Would not eat again.
