Tomoya Japanese Cuisine

This was my first visit.It was while it's soft opening.The inside was not decorated fully , they said.But still welcoming!And the server was the owner herself, I guess.She has a lots of knowledge.I ordered Sashimi combo.My friend ordered Beef Steak ComboIt might not cheap.But it tastes good with authentic Japanese way!I'm looking forward to coming back to try some more...

Soft opening and had to try it out.Brand new interior. Nice and clean and crisp inside. Not loud at all. Great place to talk and have conversation with a meal.My friend and I went for lunch.The sushi and beef are higher quality ingredients and dine very well. Soup and salad were fresh, delicious, and great texture. Loved the side dish of the ume plum too. Very impressed with the sushi combo and the variety of sushi. Fatty tuna, yellowtail, snapper, salmon, shrimp, tamago (egg), and Ikura along with a whole california roll with fresh avocado inside. We also enjoyed a nice and hot agedashi tofu and hot green tea. Very nice touch where they did not charge for tea. Will definitely return and looking forward to their unagi don, katsu, tempura, udon, ramen and future grand opening!

Save your flight ticket to Japan and come here! The set meals taste authentic and delicately presented. The restaurant is new and very clean. Service is wonderful. What a DELIGHTFUL restaurant.If you imagine dropping in on some small neighborhood restaurant in Japan, and always getting great food -- Tomoya is exactly that kind of place.It has recently opened and this area is lucky to have this here.I went to yoga nearby and then we were hungry. This place showed up so we dropped in at 4pm for neither dinner nor lunch... but we feasted!I wanted to try their sashimi but decided to go with their chirashi, called Kaisen Don here ($19.95). It's sashimi on top of sushi rice.KK wanted the Gyu Don ($15.95), which is a beef on rice dish, one of his favorites and if he sees it, he orders it.Their mixed tempura ($12.95) photo looked perfect with that light but crispy texture -- so we decided to try that. Also, I like trying agedashi tofu ($5.50) at new places, so we threw that in too.(I told you -- a feast.)Every single dish we ordered was delicious. The key here is that they were all properly cooked as one would hope at a Japanese restaurant and served fresh. The seasoning was on point for every single item.The tempura was, as I suspected, just delicious and so light. If you are used to typical tempura in Japanese restaurants in the US, their batter tends to be a bit dense and while any good shrimp in batted *tastes* good, it's not real tempura. This here is legit tempura. Airy and light, but so savory too.The agedashi tofu also is fried to the same lightness and IS AMAZING. There will never be a time I don't order this one!The gyu don was tender and flavorful, but to me, gyu don is gyu don. The husband liked it so that's that.My chirashi was solid. The combination of fish was nice, with ikura and the crab mix offering some saltiness. The sashimi is a bit thin, but compared to other chirashi, the cost is low, so I was okay with that. But the sushi rice underneath is so good. Really makes this dish irresistible and not only did I eat all the fish, I finished off every morsel of rice with the salad and soup that comes with my order.Also delicious was their miso soup.But you see what I mean? It's that reliable neighborhood restaurant that just serves solid and authentic cooking.Tomoya is definitely worth a visit. They have a bunch of other dishes like donkatsu, ramen, udon and even sushi/sashimi. Next time, I'll be trying some ramen and donkatsu, but I don't know how to not order that agedashi tofu!PERFECTION! 5/5

We wanted to eat at Japanese cusuine for a late lunch and this Japanese restaurants is one of the only ones that I could find on Yelp that was open earlier than 5-530pm. We were pleasantly surprised how delicious everything we ordered was which included a Dragon Roll, Tempura Combo and GyuDon Bowl (Beef). The combos and bowls all come with a salad and miso soup which were great. Additionally, the Yuzu Sherbet was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, fast and attentive. Also, the dine-in area and restrooms are some of the cleanest I have seen in Las Vegas. Overall, we had a wonderful and great experience dining here.

Awesome awesome food, my coworker and I decided to give this place a try for lunch takeout today and the food was hot and fresh even after the commute. Everything tastes truly authentic and is beautifully plated. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the chopsticks. I can't wait to come back. ごちそさまでした！

The shrimp tempura had the perfect soft crunch that it's supposed to be. Not hard and overcooked like most places. It also had the right light gold color and not dark brown. The grilled mackerel was cooked so well. Soft, juicy meat with a gentle crunch of the skin. Even the most basic sushi roll, the california roll, tastes so pleasant here. You can really taste the Japanese authenticity. Aside from the fact that the staff are Japanese as well, it's as if I tasted a hone cooked meal in Japan!The service is top notch. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. So glad to find this nice little hidden gem.

This restaurant will soon require reservations, this will be the new hotspot in town. Everything was delicious, the pictures don't give enough credit. Staff are courteous and attentive

From the food quality, to the service, and atmosphere everything was excellent. The traditional japanese dishes are executed perfectly and with care. I will be coming back frequently.

Wow what a gem! This is my new go-to local sushi spot. The sushi is so so fresh and good portions, prices very reasonable, the staff are very friendly. Japanese owned-Japanese restaurant, they are hard to find these days. Five stars all the way!
