Staying at The Orleans Hotel & Casino a Boyd property. I got comps so this is my first time sleeping here . I gambled many times but haven't stayed here . Their rooms are very spacious maybe need to be renovated soon. They have a coffee counter which is called Java Vegas which sells Starbucks brand . They also have a food court which has Baskin Robins, Sabarro pizza and baskin Robbins and Fuddruckers which is a burger place . Orleans also has a Theater complex, and a Bowling center .The Orleans is located off the strip a little on West Tropicana. I could remember back in the day the Orleans use to have a Mardi Gras parade and employees use to toss beads from the 2nd floor .Next time while you're in Vegas stop by and support The Orleans Hotel and Casino. Also I won a 3.5qt pot promotion going while I was at the Orleans lol

The only reason we stay here is because there's an annual conference for my husband's industry and it's always hosted here. I really wish they would change it to somewhere a little nicer. Regardless, whenever we talk to locals, they rave about the casino itself. I'm not much of a gambler so mostly this pertains to the hotel. Positives: Prices can be super cheap! I think this is one advantage. Only a seven to ten minute uber to the strip (depending on traffic and where exactly you're going of course) so it's a way to keep costs down and be out of the shenanigans of the strip while still having it be accessible. There is a ton of great food off the strip, and in this area, without all the price gouging. This place has a small but decent gym and also a movie theater and a bowling alley. The convenience of this entertainment is nice. Negatives: The building is just so old. Ventilation could be better, the cigarette smell downstairs is so strong. Decor is outdated, especially in rooms. Every year we come, we complain about the same key things: AC sucks, pillows suck, bed sucks, they have the world's thinnest comforters and food options within the casino are not great. On this particular trip I guess they were cleaning some grease traps, so we heard, and we spent the night with the foulest sewage smell permeating our room. Nauseating. Many attendees were complaining of the same thing. In addition, our bathtub clogged and it took over four hours and two separate phone calls for it to get resolved. As far as service, do not expect much, which I partly understand; I'm sure they are overworked and underpaid. Ultimately, I would never even know of this place, or stay here, if it weren't for my husband's industry.

Who is rating this place 5 stars? Paid reviewers and bots? The Orleans is a pit!The only reason I stay here is because the jamz organization holds their nationals here. They must get a cheap price for the arena or some kickbacks from Boyd because the place is just bad.On 2 consecutive stays we had rooms where one of the dresser drawers wouldn't stay closed. This year in my brother's room the toilet started leaking onto the floor! The WiFi is a joke; I can get faster speeds from my 5g phone. The beds are like sleeping on plywood; I woke up with sore hips and lower back pain. The only reason I gave this place more than 1 star is that Ondori Asian Kitchen and Bailiwick have some pretty good food.

Pros: For an off strip hotel this has everything you'd need. They have a variety of restaurants, a coffee shop, a bowling alley, a movie theater, fun zone for the kiddos, and multiple fast food options. The hotel rooms are slightly outdated but clean. They have an actual bathroom window that you can open for ventilation. I can say I've never had that in a Vegas hotel. The casino itself was spacious with plenty of alcohol options everywhere. Cons: the check in process had issues. When we did check in we were informed I had booked 2 rooms. I only booked one. I had to call the third party website I booked out of to see what happened. They charged me for one room but stated their system showed I initially tried to book and was unsuccessful. When I informed the hotel they gave me the one room but it left me some doubts they'd try to double charge me. Also, the resort fees. What I saved in booking this hotel (which was fairly economical) they charged me a good chunk on resort fees. Vegas is getting a bit out of hand with that. The room itself had slight issues. The water at the sink at times was super hot using the cold option. They also failed to refresh the room on one of the days which was a put off. We left for the day well before they started cleaning the rooms. Overall, I wouldn't rule out coming back. But I know it's not the most economical hotel off the strip. If that is the case I'd stay at a higher end property like Red Rock.

This review is from a Business Trip POV and someone who doesn't gamble or party in Vegas. No better fit hotel than The Orleans for everything we needed, although we are not fans of the place having NO MICROWAVE?! That is a staple in hotels, but I get it, you want us to spend (more) money on food, but have you heard of leftovers? Literally, the first meal we ate was chipotle (since we're from Hawaii) and that guaranteed leftovers. What are we supposed to do? Eat it cold or find a microwave? YEAH, that is the biggest downside of this hotel. Other than that, they do come with minifridges, you just have to request it, but the ample parking, clean and spacious rooms, and multiple food and activities available makes this hotel pretty ideal for someone who came to Vegas with no intention of visiting the strip.Check in is also super easy and on a kiosk and since we were a part of 12 we kindly asked for rooms near each other and Kimberly/Katrina (sorry I forgot your name!) obliged. I've never tipped a front desk worker before, but she earned it - talk about service with a smile and great attitude. Whoever was working the Orleans check-in kiosk on Thursday afternoon sure made a great impression.Looking forward to coming back here in the future! Yes, even if you don't offer microwaves.

I haven't been in The Orleans Hotel & Casino in a minute! This off The Strip hotel is popular with the locals for the arena in the back, where they do various shows and concerts. I've never stayed at this hotel/casino but I have visited a few times, to eat, drink, gamble and mostly, go to the movie theater here. Parking was interesting, to say the least. I felt it was almost Mad Max style but that's not really the hotels fault. You won't find a parking garage here, just uncovered lots. It was really busy the night we came but were lucky enough to snag a good spot near the front entrance. There was a lot of parking by the arena, but it's hot out, and we didn't want to walk. You can also valet, which I saw a lot of "angry" cars give up circling and go to the valet.Walking in, it smells like late 1990's-early 2000's Vegas, so if you're into nostalgia, it's here for you. The décor is quite tacky, and let's be honest, the floating heads are actually kind of terrifying. But... it's also kind of cute and kitschy and I don't hate it. Think, "I've never been to New Orleans, but I've seen a lot of cartoons set there, let's decorate!"The hotel is huge, with a lot of bars and food options. The casino floor is also huge with many games to choose from. There are also a lot of entertainment options for people of all ages.

My husband and I, are traveling for a funeral and got this hotel for two nights. The first night was pretty good. The hotel room was nice and I have no complaints about that. We decided to go down to the Casino and gamble for a bit after the funeral to get our mind off of things. We got there around 12am and left around 3am. First night at the Casino was great! Everyone was nice and they gave us free drinks at the bar while we gambled. We gave a good tip and left for the night. My husband and I each put in a $100. The next day around 8pm we decided to go down to the Casino again and the bartenders were so rude! We went to a different part of the Casino for the bar since we entered a different way this time. As soon as we sat down and each put in our money, the bartender asked us what we wanted. We said our drink orders and then he tried to charge us $20 per drink! We were shocked and told him that we came yesterday and we didn't have to pay for our drinks if we were gambling and he told us that we had to put a minimum of $20 to get free drinks. Never heard this before but regardless I told him I put more than $20, which I had put a $50 bill in, and my husband had put in a ticket from yesterday to gamble before he put in anymore money. The bartender rolled his eyes at us and didn't say anything else then slammed a cup on the table expecting a tip from us! We got up because the situation was weird and went to the bar we had gone to the night before. When we get there the same guy who gave us drinks the night before told us that he will no longer be serving us and we weren't allowed to order anything! We were shocked. We then talked to their boss and asked what we did wrong? We were genuinely confused. The boss said that the bartenders had called in saying that we weren't consistently gambling so they didn't want to pour us drinks. So basically I have to gamble for more than the three hours I was already gambling the night before and put more than the $150+ for them to provide service? This doesn't make sense especially considering that the person next to me was only putting in $5 bills and getting unlimited drinks. Ridiculous. Will never go back here.
