South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa

We visited SPH on our last day in Vegas. SPH and the Silverado Steak House was recommended by friends. We LOVED our day at SPH. I've read several reviews that the slots here were tight. Both of walked out with more in our pockets than when we went in. I hit on the same machine three times and she hit on three different machines. I found the payouts better than up on the strip. There's a 64 lane bowling alley and a 16-screen movie theater! Husbands can bowl or nap in the theater while she plays the slots. The del-mar deli was the bomb of sandwich's... decent prices too

Will update this after checking out, but here is how things have been going since we checked in yesterday:- Floors in our room had dirt and trash around the base of the beds- One of the beds had someone's hair under the sheets- Towels smelled like pee- Elevators stopped working last night, so the first 10 or so floors have to use service elevators, and that wait has been at least 20 minutes each time- Notice on our door that water will be shut off tonight- Most of the front desk staff looks, sounds, and acts like they are struggling with burnout and don't want to be hereIf you have plans to stay here or have reservations here this month, you might want to reconsider it until they get their act together.

Was here in December and posted that only one elevator was working. Today, none of them are working and we had to wait for a service elevator. People were irritated and overloading the elevator so they wouldn't miss flights. This is dangerous in so many ways. When I spoke with a maintenance guy to ask what was being done on it he laughed and shrugged. I thought I would give the South Point the benefit of the doubt as we have stayed here for many years. But Shame on me for thinking they had to have this problem fixed by now. I'm moving to another hotel and will be staying elsewhere in the future. Not that the hotel cares

Tonight, I'm giving South Point Casino two stars. I don't understand why some casinos have banned smoking entirely while others haven't.I was playing roulette until two people sat down, smoking like chimneys. I wish smokers would at least direct their smoke up or down instead of blowing it sideways, right into the spaces where non-smokers are sitting or standing.This casino might attract players because smoking is allowed, but I'm sure just as many people walk away for the same reason.

This review is for the Righteous Brothers, Bill Medley and Bucky Heard show. This is a high energy performance by two fantastic entertainers. Although Bucky Heard is not an original in the duo, he truly is a Righteous Brother. The 8 piece band is great and includes a 4 piece horn section and 3 backup singers. The high point was the visual and musical salute to Bobby Hatfield. The Unchained Melody was the perfect choice for a tribute to him.Don't wait to see the show as like all of us the duo will not be around forever.

I'm a fan of this hotel and casino. Maybe it's the rodeo, the cowboys, the restaurants, the movie theater, bowling alley, bingo, the spa or the rooms...I've experienced them all, well, except bingo, which I'm not opposed, and I've enjoyed every single minute! And the staff, they have all been great too!!

Side note: Add the Del Mar to your list of eats at South Point! The food is delicious, fast, homemade and reasonable. The desserts are to die for!

This is not our first stay at South Point; however, it was the best! My wife and I visited Las Vegas for the World Series of Team Roping We enjoy staying at South Point. The location is great. There is not a lot of noise, the facility is always clean, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. And I assume it must be a good place to work because we see familiar staff faces each year. John, the valet staff and security officers make this a wonderful place to stay with confidence.

The hotel has been a mainstay for my family on our annual vacation together. Clean, updated amenities and well furnished with everything we need to feel right at home. Could not be more impressed.

Is this place snazzy or the hottest casino in LV? Absolutely not. This is a locals casino which also attracts tourists who want to pay a little less for their hotel rooms by staying off the strip. I love South Point more for the gambling options. They have most, if not all, of the new slot machines. There are a lot of tables but I've noticed that they get packed because of the lower denoms (another plus). Smoke smell is there but not as intense as some others. Lots of food options. Check out the garden buffet which is reasonably priced or primarily prime rib. They've recently upgraded their bathrooms which is always a plus. There is plenty of parking and lots of chargers if you have an EV. Dealers are friendly. Servers are always running around for drink orders. Great place to hang out away from the strip. Solid 4 stars.
