Slot Car City Raceway and Hobbies

Such unexpected fun! I've been wanting to visit Slot Car City for a while, I finally made it, and I'm so glad I did. We went in and got a great explanations of what was going on. We paid for 1/2 and hour. We each got a car, a throttle, and a lane on the track. It takes a little bit to get the hang of it. Each car has its own behavior and each lane is a little different in how you have to drive it.Next time I'll probably race for an hour, 1/2 hour isn't long enough! You definitely lose track of time racing these machines! Go! You really need to try this yourself, it's a ton of fun!

Owner could not be nicer to my son and me. Even the other hobbyists who come in to work on their gear obviously want others to enjoy their time there and get to know how slot car racing works. If you want to have a party, participate in their racing, or just have a fun afternoon, stop by. I'd also suggest if you like diecast NASCAR or models he has a few pretty rare ones for sale!

Two tracks, one beginners, with five curves and advanced track with 10 curses. Adut male entertainment! Several racing each other, both with their own equipment. The kids appear to be just as savvy and knowledgable. The guy behind the counter is constantly working on something, but friendly and helpful to get you set up. The rental cars are plastic molded flaps/winged over the axis and just two back wheels. Front is for fitting into the track. The big guys have actual full bodied cars. I can see this 'hobbie' with all of it's accompanied paraphernalia as expensive but so are most hobbies if you are a true fan!Just $5 for 15 minutes or $8 for 30 minutes for rental and such. I didn't race, but enjoyed my husband and a local kid race away the afternoon. Place is set up for birthday parties and seems to be very entertaining for all!

Took my two boys here for an afternoon of fun. These are modern kids and so this was new to them, but they had a great time racing cars for 30 minutes. The owner is very nice and the place is well kept. This would even be fun for adult males who used to do this when they were younger.

Second time here. Brought the wife, and a friend. Rented cars. Very reasonable at $5. We had a great time racing each other. Not much you can do in Las Vegas that is this much fun for so little cost. There are not many slot car tracks left in the USA. It's a tuff business model. Please support Slot Car City. You will be happy that you did. Lots of fun on the cheap.

We took a ride share car from Meow Wolf Omega Mart (Area 15) to Sofrito Rico (cheapest and also the tastiest meal we have ever had in Vegas) and then we had a nice 10 minute walk here. This was amazing! We came for the Family Day Special (three person minimum) and it has been the best value for our money this whole trip! The kids have done VR, the Cirque O show, and arcades, and this has them all beat.They have different cars for rent and all the stuff you need to make your own if you want. The cars they gave us were a little touchy around corners so it does take a bit of skill. I was afraid 1hour would be too long but, as I am writing this, I am considering paying for another hour.They have two racetracks and the kids were on one. Some other adults we didn't know were on the other track and they were laughing and enjoying themselves as much as our kids were.Kids get free toy cars depending on how long they rent cars and the owner let them choose. Chat with the owner to learn more about his history and the history of the shop. He has won tons of awards for his own racing! The lap counter runs on DOS on an old computer and is connected to a dot matrix printer!Check the website for hours and calendar. I am sad that we can't have a birthday party here but it is definitely something worth doing with children if you get the chance. Shoot, if I am ever in Vegas with just adults, I will come back!

I bought three slot cars and my own controller. I go here once per week to race my cars. This is an affordable hobby.... And track time is only 5$ an hour. This is a super cool hobby. If ur thinking about it, rent the cars and try it out.

I can't tell you how the facility was or the condition of the tracks / equipment. Came there Saturday at 12 - when they are supposed to open. Around 12:10 someone rolls up with keys. My daughter and I are literally in front of the place (the only ones) and he would have walked right by without acknowledging us if I didnt ask him if he was the one opening the doors. He nodded and opened the doors. Never asked us if we needed help, come on in or anything. Went back and forth to his car again walking past us, and never said another word or anything...We drove a 1/2 hour to get there and everyone has a bad day but really...

This place is great. My boys and I rented cars. The are fast and fun. The owner was so nice. 8 bucks for a half hour of fun, you can't beat that. Can't wait til next December when we visit Vegas again.
