Sista Kim's Kitchen

Sista Kim's Kitchen is in a shopping center that is not the ritziest. However, armed security patrols the center and remains visible. On one occasion, I found a security officer sitting in his patrol car because I had to use the restroom. The officer escorted me to the bathroom next to Sista Kim's restaurant, which required a key to access. The restaurant doesn't have a vast menu. Thus far, I have only ordered catfish from there, which I love! The catfish is seasoned well, and a plate comes with three fillets and two sides for approximately 19 dollars and change. I love the catfish, and one day, I will move on and try other food items. However, I am stuck on the catfish! Not only is the catfish delicious, but so is their hot sauce! Their homemade hot sauce tastes sweet and is sort of like syrup. I have never had better hot sauce! Their tarter sauce is good, too, but the hot sauce is what you want with the catfish! I also love their macaroni and cheese! Their potato salad and yams are okay, so I always get double macaroni for my sides. The beverages I bought were OK, but not something I would get again. I have yet to dine in. However, I would if I had the time. I love that there are TV monitors that play classic R&B videos, and the staff is pleasant. Sista Kim is friendly and seems to value customer service from the few times I spoke with her. Sometimes, they run out of items; from what I gather, they don't sell desserts. An employee told me they serve oxtails on Saturdays, a dish that would quickly get me to try something other than catfish. However, they didn't cook oxtails on the Saturday that I called. I recommend signing up for the loyalty program and paying attention to the monitor's price. The system seems to populate a tip automatically, so make sure you deselect the tip or select the tip you want before paying. I love catfish, and Sista Kim is the " Catfish champion!" Her catfish and hot sauce are a knock-out combo!

Feb 17th took my family here to eat. The owner was an absolute gem, personable and very sweet. She was so so sweet. Food made to order so we waited about 20 min but that was totally fine by us. She set the vibe in there with a great music, ac and comfortable seating. The only reason why it was a 4/5 rating was because the back worker who was giving out food (the owner was taking orders) had low to near none customer service personality with no smile or conversation with the customers and every time she turned the corner she was rolling her eyes. I thought it was just my table but it was every customer she interacted with while we were there. I am just hoping she was just having a bad day. That was the only reason why it didn't get a 5/5 i would give her a 4.9 if i couldHer food was delicious. My man ordered the fish combo with greens and mac n cheese. He was reeeeeeal quiet and rolling his eyes back. He said everything was flavorful. although he wish there was a bit more ham hock or turkey he didn't have much complaints. I had the shrimp plate and the sauce she has on the side.... my gosh it was so so good. Thank you sista Kim for growing our backs. we definitely will be back

Customer service was amazing, which will always tell me if I will return to any place of business. Seemed to be the owner taking the orders.Young ladies were in the back preparing food with an older gentleman. Seemed family owned and operated, but if not, i loved that it felt that way. The music was R&B and set the tone of a soul food ambiance, sort of like being at home and around folks you are comfortable with. Our order came out promptly, which is a plus because we were hungry. My Arnold Palmer tasted like I made it at home,so it was great. Did not have that Chick fila or diner Arnold Palmer hit or miss taste to it. The bacon burger was 10/10, and my son and daughter do not eat cheese on burgers, but that did not take away from the taste (I do not like burgers without cheese, but this was so good anyways). The burger was juicy, large, cooked perfectly, seasoned to the nines , and on a soft bun with all the fixings. I would scratch the mustard and add mayo next time, but that's a personal preference as I only eat mustard on grilled sausages. Fried fish, shrimp, chili cheese fries, yams, mac and cheese, burgers, and wings were seasoned,Perfect temperature, and fresh. My mac and cheese needed just a tad bit of salt, but flavorful and may not have really needed the salt, but I like mine with a tad more. My only no go was the cabbage, as it was mushy, so probably over cooked. Bummed that we went today, Friday, instead of Saturday because they did not have ox tails, greens, or fried ribs since it is not the weekend per se. We are visiting Vegas so we will have to make it a point to stop here on a Saturday or Sunday next time. We will visit again for sure come back.

I booked marked this place and wanted to try it out for weeksLocation is not in the best neighborhood. But hey...we not here for the neighborhood, we here for the food, right?Also I came here during the day, so I'm safe. lolThe place is small, I ordered to go, honestly is been a few weeks since I was there, it I gotta say, the wings are dry, seem like it was over cookedNothing really special, so I'm giving it 3 stars base on the food

I seen Keith Lee's second review on Sista Kim's so I showed my boyfriend and we went for dinner on Monday.It was 1 hour til closing, Sista Kim was patient and helpful answer our questions as we decided what we wanted to order. We ordered, walked around the very vacant complex until our food was ready (which was under 20 mins) and decided to dine outside. Sista Kim's was kind to also offer us complimentary lemonade. Definitely a very pleasant, welcoming woman and overall, family owned establishment.Our food was hot, well-seasoned and delicious, my fish was coated well and the fries were huge. I wish they were more crispy but them being cooked vs undercooked is always a win. I didn't live the yams, it i did enjoy the fact they weren't too sweet or full of butter. They y tasted more healthy than not but also a bit watered down:My boyfriend agreed that they burger was very good, pleasantly large and topped with the perfect fixings. The signature sauce was sooo goood, it was like hot sauce and honey. We'd def visit again.

The restaurant itself is hidden in an old, small plaza. Service was as good as you can get since they're overwhelmed with orders. They don't accept phone orders. I stumbled upon this spot without knowing it was recommended by an influencer. I was just craving for some oxtail that day. Flavors were good, but my oxtail plate was overly greasy. They ran out of gravy but it was fine because I really wanted the oxtail. The burger was meaty, juicy, but there was no bacon... and I paid for a bacon cheeseburger. Overall, I paid $60+ for this whole meal and it was underwhelming.

It was an hour wait to get your food...but was it worth it??...HELL YES!!Customer service and food were 10/10! I ordered the shrimp and 3 piece fish combo. Everything on the plate was delicious! I'm definitely going back to try other foods on the menu.

Check out Sista Kim's Bacon Cheeseburger Combo ($17) with all the toppings. The star of this masterpiece is the big, juicy, cooked to perfection patty. It has great beefy flavor that satisfies the carnivore in me! It had just the right amount of lightly crisped bacon! The seasoned fries arrived piping hot just the way I like it. Crispy exterior, with a smooth molten hot interior. The restaurant has a chill vibe with old school hip hop and R&B music videos playing on several screens. Service is great! The gal that took my order even checked in on me to confirm I enjoyed the food. You bet I enjoyed it! Down to the last bite! Thanks for the amazing meal!!

Oh my God, we found this wonderful restaurant called sister Kim's kitchen. We were on our way to Chick-fil-A when I decided to find a black owned restaurant to see if I could get some good old southern food and it was unbelievably delicious. The service was awesome and sister Kim is the most gracious host. After we received the food, which was really fast, it was hot and we dug right in and almost forgot to take a picture, but this is what was left because I am so full. The fish and shrimp was cooked to perfection, the greens was seasoned just right, the yams, Mac and cheese, potato salad was just like my mom was back there cooking. If you're in the Las Vegas area, you must stop at sister Kim's kitchen.

I love when Keith Lee posts a new business because I am usually right there to try it ! Sistah Kim's was so fresh which I could appreciate. My food was still hot/warm on my 30 minute drive home .It was a very long wait but I expected that and didn't mind because my food was FRESH!The wings were OK to me and I prefer the yams to be not as mushy. The Mac n cheese was OK as well too. I love the atmosphere and for that, I will be back to try something else .
