We stopped in for lunch this past weekend and had such a nice time! I wasn't quite sure what to expect but it feels very old school Vegas inside but with a modern and classy touch. The dining area is spacious and clean, filled with classic photos and decor. There were about three other tables when we arrived and we were greeted + sat immediately. Our server, Vartan (or "Superman" as he referenced haha), was the only one working the restaurant floor when we dined in but did a solid job tending back and forth to all his tables. He was quick to bring over whatever we needed, ensured our orders were correct and consistently checked up on us throughout the meal. He seems like such a sweet and thoughtful guy, be sure to take care of him if he's your server. As for our lunch, we ordered the Cobb salad (extra chopped as you can see pictured), loco moco with egg whites, Atlantic salmon (to-go), the apple crumble pie and the cheesecake (to-go). I recommend all of these! The loco moco tasted like it was home cooked, good amount of salt and the gravy was savory. The apple crumble tasted like a blend of an apple pie + cobbler. If you don't like things too sweet, I'd ask for the strawberries on the side with the cheesecake. The portions were perfect and left enough for extras to take home. The plating with everything ordered was impressive as well; you could tell those in the kitchen took pride in the meals they served. One note, if you prefer to drink soft beverages or something other than water, be sure to check the menu to keep in mind prices for those drinks. Looking forward to the next time we stop on by. I'd like to try some of the bigger entree items for a dinner next time. If you're staying on property or just visiting downtown Las Vegas for the afternoon, I'd absolutely suggest you try out Siegel's 1941!

The restaurant decor was good very classy, the waitress nice but when we ordered the $10 margarita in the souvenir cup, we even pointed to the menu that's states $10 with cup and it did not come out that way, it was maybe a 8oz. I wish she would have told us that wasn't served in the restaurant. I ordered the El Cortez Burger with Pepper Jack cheese with a side of ranch. The ranch was not made in house so it was not very good. The burger was good just not as seasoned as I would have liked, I ordered it medium, and it was cooked the way I ordered so that was good. I wouldn't order the burger again I would try something else.

I ordered the $19.99 Prime Rib dinner at 1941 Siegel's Restaurant in El Cortez. This was first time I visited. The waiter was very attentive. He came by my table fast to give me water. My dish came in 5 mins. The waiter came back 6 times to see how I was doing. This restaurant was not busy. Tourist only know Tony Roma's $11 Prime Rib dinner at Fremont Casino. So they line up to get that deal. I will come back to eat the prime rib again.

Came here for a quick bite since we are staying in at el Cortez this time. Wednesday night at 7pm. Wasn't as busy but after that a flock of people started to line up. Jordan is attentive and this place gets busy A lot of to go orders. Atmosphere is decent. Ordered the big island fried rice which is very tasty and as good by itself. Unfortunately the filet mignon wasn't available at the time. Switched to new york strip instead and ate half of it. Big portions it came out with fries. Tasty and delicious.

It's been some time eating at Siegel's 1941 so we decided to have a meal and check it out. I ordered the Prime Rib dinner and it was very good and thick which was not expecting to see. Really enjoyed the meal. Our server was very nice and attentive but did not get her name. We came in on 12-24-24 for dinner around 10pm before going out. We had a good time eating and having pleasant conversation with the staff being nice and professional. It is always consistently a good place to eat at the hotel.

Siegel's 1941 is a restaurant located in the El Cortez Hotel/Casino on Fremont Street. They offer an all day menu that includes breakfast, matzah ball brei, and smoked salmon. They also offer shrimp cocktails, salads, deli type sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips, some other entrees, and most people come in to get their prime rib special. The theme of this restaurant is Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel. He was an American Mobster that was the person that dreamed up and developed the Las Vegas Strip. The on line menu reads that the pastrami is roasted in house so I wanted to try it and ordered a pastrami sandwich with condiments on the side (mayo & mustard). The pastrami is under seasoned without a good rub and also under cooked with hard fat. It is served on a mild type of rye bread without seeds. They also forgot to add the sour kraut that was listed in the description. This sandwich came with skinny fries. My husband tried a country fried steak. He said it was ok but not great.Sometimes it takes them a long time to seat you. Today it them thirty minutes to seat us. 2.5 stars

Had a reservation around dinner time and arrived on time, but they didn't seat us till about 8 minutes later. The strawberry margarita (on the rocks) was super sweet and definitely strong, it was yummy. We shared a couple dishes. The atlantic salmon was pretty good, tender and moist. The sauteed spinach was more bland than I would have liked, but it was fitting for my partner who prefers less salt. The oven roasted pastrami sandwich (requested without sauerkraut/mustard) was quite tasty, with thick and flavorful slices of meat. The onion rings we subbed instead of fries were about average. Service was remarkable, the staff helpful and attentive to our needs. And the setting was simple and inviting, with just a bit of artwork on the walls to go along with the theme.

Hanging out at El Cortez is very fun, but when it comes time to eat, your choices aren't great. We stopped by Siegel's for a quick bite. Matzo ball soup is decent and we get it every time. This time, we got the hummus plate which is pretty good, as well as any breakfast items. The hash brown is super crispy and so good, albeit a bit greasy. Just FYI, do NOT order the Loco Moco. The rice was still crunchy (undercooked) when my plate arrived. I could not eat it. The two bites I took stuck to my teeth and the crunchy rice was very off putting. I told our server and the response was "this happens, they don't know how to cook rice".

For those who survived childhood riding in cars equipped without seat belts, THE place to go on Wednesdays is Siegel's 1941. That's because old people get to order from the half off menu, lasting nearly all day from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and here's a sample: The El Cortez burger, a massive 1/2 pounder with Applewood bacon, cheese, and fries - a $10 steal. Turkey Cobb salad - only $10.50.Big bowl of matzo ball soup - $6.50 for Boomers.NY strip steak and eggs with hash browns & toast - $15.50. Three egg omelet with bacon & cheese - $10.German chocolate cake and apple crumble pie - $5.50 each.Half roasted chicken w/Yukon potatoes and mixed veggies - a mere $12 (it's actually fully roasted, not undercooked and half roasted...so don't fear E. coli). My friends (also old, gray, and wrinkled) opted for the NY steak & eggs and an El Cortez hamburger while I downed the roast chicken plate and a bowl of matzo ball soup with big chunks of white meat chicken. We left full and impressed with the food quality, which sure beats a lot of casino diners. On other days, regularly priced items include a large assortment of ribs, steak, fish, chicken parmesan, sandwiches, and salads. Alexis was a delight as our server and she took our ribbing very well, even dishing some of it back. The atmosphere is nostalgic with red Naugahyde booths, '50s and '60s music, vintage lighting, white brick walls, and old photos of notorious gangsters. So mosey on down to Siegel's 1941 in the retro-cool El Cortez Casino because if you once roamed the sidewalks with an AM/FM transistor radio glued to your ears, you will be rewarded for living so long (be sure to bring your player's card for the discount). Sorry kids but if you don't quite know what a paper map from AAA is, then you don't qualify for the half-off dining discount.

Had been years since eating downtown. MANY years ago you could get a steak dinner at the El Cortez for five dollars. Siegel's 1941 in the El Cortez does offer a prime rib dinner for twenty dollars. That's what my daughter and I had. Beautiful dining room area. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Our prime ribs were cooked perfectly. Mashed potatoes and vegetables very good. Even split a cheesecake... Yummy! Would recommend this place to family and friends.
